Classic late 00s Levon Vincent style of rhythm and pace meets Skudge's hallmark sound.
It's been over a decade since Skudge took charge and urged us to "Give it all up". 'Convolution' forged two distinct genres while avoiding the trap of losing the attitude of both.
The track was a strong take on Techno and House simultaneously and brought something new and interesting to the table.
Fast forward a decade since this effort marked the beginning of the Skudge journey, which not only caught the middle ground between Techno and House but also the ears of fellow producer Levon Vincent.
Levon is a prominent name in the oceanic underwater funk, touching strands of Dub, Techno, and House.
Levon delivers two versions, where the Scream Version captures the UK sound of anarchistic basslines similar to 'Basemental' from '95, on the A-side.
Flipping over to the B-side, one can hear the 'Convolution' atmosphere echoing between Levon and Skudge respectively.

But Soundworks is also the soundtrack for those areas that turn party-goers into altered silhouettes, captured between strobe light flashes. Those types of situations, where the smoke and sweat meet in between the last dances.
From start to finish, the fourth album carries a sound that is coherent. What Soundworks means, is that all of the nine tracks on the LP are multi-dimensional, without losing traction. There are adrenal spikes but there are also drifters - most significant in the tracks 'Floating', 'Scape' and 'Likemind'.
All-in-all, what we have here is a return to form for Skudge, with a capital S.

In this new series from Skudge, the tracks 'Pressure Drop' and 'Realtime' are remodeled and retuned. Not as a reminder of what has been, but more as a result of reaching a different conclusion and expression.
Concentrated on the skeletal parts of the originals. Rebuilt into alternatives that reflect a sifted and interestingly constrained sonic palette. This further shows how Skudge not only inspire the community, but are also inspired by their own history.

Much longer in the making than usual, we're proud to finally be able to announce the 7th installment in our remix series with this new release. While most thought the elusive unit now dormant for quite some time, Seldom Felt creep out of their retirement for two absolute bangers! If both producers currently enjoy massive success in their respective careers, the Seldom Felt project was always special to us, with its abrasive yet lush aesthetic. Both present remixes are amazing testimonies of those two aspects, each one enhancing one or the other: The “Phantom RMX” is a deeper affair, taking its cues from the early warp days with a devastating minimal beat and dubbed stabs before the bass kicks in to maximum damage. The “Shivers RMX” takes Chicago back to long forgotten industrial roots in an explosive four to the flour manner before a sumptuous crushed pad enters towards the end for the killing.

Sonic Propaganda comes from the collaborative minds of Earwax and Rosati, a pair who favour dark and intense techno sounds and take inspiration from Jeff Mills and Robert Hood. In the studio, they blend analog and digital technologies into smoky warehouse atmospheres and immersive journeys that connect with listeners on an emotive level, and this full EP lands following their contribution to the third instalment of the Mutual Rytm's Federation Of Rytm compilation series in February.
The powerful 'Native' opens up at high speed with tightly coiled drum loops that never let up. Sleek metal percussive sounds peel off the grooves and lock listeners into a perfect state of hypnosis. 'Soul Pressure' is just as absorbing, with a tense bassline keeping you on edge as the train-like drums march under incendiary hi-hat ringlets. There is plenty of perfect machine funk to 'Terminal', which has more rusty synth textures and chopped-up vocal fragments humanising the turbulent grooves. 'Basic Path' brings an extra skip to the kicks as they enter, scuffed up and flowing just above the groove, while vocal pulses and twitchy synth modulations bring the detail. 'Body Empire' closes the vinyl package with a deeper vibe and pensive synths that add warmth and soul to the brilliantly mechanical grooves, while digital bonus 'Acid Riot' closes with squelching acid lines amongst a swell of analog crunch and laser-sharp percussion.

Nearly 30 years ago, Paul M aka DJ Kid Paul recording as Energy 52 unleashed a record onto an unsuspecting public that would go on to define club culture for an entire generation of dance music enthusiasts. Named as an homage to the legendary Ibiza sunset spot, Café Del Mar broke down boundaries between the underground and the mainstream, charting in the UK singles charts on three separate occasions and named as the “best tune ever” by Mixmag at the start of the new millennium. In terms of cultural and emotional impact in dance music, it’s hard to find a record that comes close.
Café Del Mar has come to represent the most euphoric and hedonistic pleasures of dancefloors - in Ibiza and all around the world - and has been remixed by some of the biggest names in the industry. Now, 30 years after its original release, Superstition Records will be putting out a new series of releases, with brand new remixes as well as remastered versions of some of the many remixes from across the last three decades. The vinyl-only remastered version of the original and Three ‘N One mixes will launch the series, with further details about the rest of the series announced in the coming weeks.
In 2021 Paul Van Dyk’s Café Del Mar remixes launched a series of vinyl and digital re-issues on the Superstition Records imprint after an almost 20 years hiatus. From 1993 until 2003 Superstition Records was a groundbreaking Techno, Tech-House and Trance Label and released some of the biggest and most revered records of the early German electronic scene.

Setting his intentions from the A1, Ruskin wastes no time by creating an intimidating introduction. Saturated percussion and stuttering keys whip through a 4 minute masterclass of sound system focused production. Adventurous in structure, Ruskin remains unquestionably in control of a bursting, almost chaotic track. 'From the Ashes 2' picks up what was left off, containing a hard-set groove with hi hats slithering in progressively from the stereo image to slightly destabilize an impressive club-heavy tool. With intricate work being done in the ambience, the EP's hard hitting second track booms through a cavernous acoustic, giving the record not only body, but dimension. Switching up the rhythm and focusing on more mental synth work for the third act, Ruskin quickly and mercilessly rips through his work with a shrill pad, creating overwhelming tension to be released in the first third of the recording.
