Markus Homm unveils his twelve-track debut LP ‘After Dark’, set for release on German imprint Bondage-Music.

An artist with a rich history within deeper house spheres and minimal territories, Markus Homm has been a fixture of the scene for over twenty years with a long list of appearances at renowned institutions, including Panorama Bar, Watergate, Kater Blau and Tresor.

Whether releasing stand-out solo material via Hive Audio, 8Bit and Cyclic Records or collaborating with fellow countryman Mihai Popoviciu, Homm’s continual evolution and development have seen him become a staple name within sets of the industry’s leading talent. A regular on the imprint with a string of releases dating back to his label debut in 2012 as remixer for Miguel Lobo – Atemporal, the Romanian-born, Nuernberg-based talent returns to Bondage-Music as he presents his first album on the label,

"The album came together over the period of the last few years. I wanted to find the sweet spot of timeless music you can listen to at home or in a club. A few tracks have been completed also during the worldwide lockdown 2 years ago, such as the track ‘After Dark’.

‘After Dark’, a rich collection of eight productions on the vinyl, ‘he album is a carefully crafted project. Starting with the vinyl version’s A1 ‘The System’, Homm delicately introduces the deep and dubby textures he’s so well known for and sets the tone for what is to come.


‘Generator’ builds upon this foundation with a selection of deep, aquatic tones, while B-side productions’ Trespasses’ and ‘Grauzone’ subtly pick up the pace and energy while guiding listeners down equally hazy and captivating trips.

‘Blue Mountain’ welcomes the first of four tracks on the 2nd vinyl, harnessing skipping drums alongside resonant chords, while title track ‘After Dark’ is an exemplary display of the Romanian’s ability to fuse delicate layers of misty pads, intricate percussion and resonant stabs.

On the flip, ‘I Wish’ is a spirited and breezy journey through rich soundscapes guided by floaty vocals, while ‘Who Are You’ concludes the physical package with a twisting production crafted for the after-hours. After his phenomenal debut in 2020, Slovenian House wizard Alex Ranerro returns to the ever delivering Bondage Music label with a new relishable five piece EP, including remix from Lola Palmer.
Title track 'Fragments' welcomes us with dabbling and shimmering percussions, accompanied by a cosy warm sub bass and a crispy drum framework. While the buttery tops and flashy FX effects subtly work their way through our hearing, we already sense the first vibrations of the peerless stellar synths unfolding continuously throughout the track.
Next up, we have Lola Palmer pleasing us with her very own version of the original. She adds a muffled kick and a drone bassline, turning the track into a matter of deep groove. Smooth piano chords nestle perfectly into this housy roller which is relying on a tasteful selection of lucent hats and twinkling shakers.
Following up is a true Alex Ranerro classic, going by the name of 'Jungfraujoch'. The Slovenian certainly aims for the good vibes with this harmonious piece of joy. Rattling percussions say 'hello' to the rolling bass and dubby melodies, promising a dazzing act of pleasure on the dancefloors of this world.
Breakbeat connoisseurs are going to love the next delicacy on the menu: 'Radiation' turns out to be a true cosmic affair, embracing us with clanking snares and a hypnotic pad straight from the orbit. Mihai Popoviciu: "The album’s called "home" because it is inspired by my experiences from my home city Sibiu in Romania. Home is also the place where the album was produced, in my stripped down studio. It is where I always return to rest and chill after touring the world and the place where I feel most safe and comfortable. The artwork shows an image of the airport lane in Sibiu with surrounding hills and mountains in the back. It is a metaphoric "gate" to both leave and return home."

Across the project Mihai delivers his signature dance floor focused, stripped back style with ‘ACK’, showcasing the hypnotic and percussive style Popoviciu executes so well. The project also drifts into smooth dubby realms via compositions like ‘Cannon Poets’ and ‘Sunshine’ while the likes of ‘Music 999’ radiantly display Mihai’s proficient production abilities as he wanders into a brighter more house centric sound.

All in all Mihai Popoviciu turns in a coherent long player whilst exploring a broad range of styles, ‘Focus and ‘Havana’ lay down a groove-led feel with subtle modulations and an unfaltering structure, while ‘Data On Data’ and ‘Hypnosia’ tip the focus over to dark and brooding territories with murky synth pads and chuggy low end tones. Once again Popoviciu has proven himself to be one of Romania’s finest electronic music exports.

Anyone who knows Sven recognizes that he has always felt free and evolved in terms of appearance and style. That's why we instantly loved the idea of Sven re-staging himself in the same pose but in a new guise. This picture disc documents a 30-year-long transformation, both sonically and visually. It is a beautiful journey through time and a true collector’s item.

A1: L'Esperanza (Original Album Version) 1993 Produced in 1993, this track has certainly not lost any of its charm over the years. Lovely string sounds envelop you in a cloud of comfort, while the filtered downbeat emphasizes this feeling of lightness. The catchy tune of the playful synthesizer melody invites you to close your eyes and start dreaming. Let yourself fall into a deep state of meditation and trance. The airy electric bassline comes with a charismatic power and opens a door to the subconscious, calling on you to dive deep. The atmosphere of this composition sits somewhere between drifting through the sea and hovering through space.

B1: L'Esperanza (Hardspace Mix) 2023 A revised version of the "Hope Will Move Mountains Mix" by "Visions Of Shiva" occurs on the B-Side in the form of Len Faki’s hardspace mix. Len is renowned for his elegant edits and refined modifications as part of his side project, this time delivering a stripped-down 135 BPM version that fits perfectly into the current zeitgeist. A club version of "L'Esperanza" that radiates a high level of euphoric energy, constantly pushing the rhythm patterns forward. Robag Wruhme is well-known for flights of the fantastic; his many productions, remixes and DJ sets act as conversations between melancholic, melodic tenderness, the urgent thrill of dancefloor-ready moments, and the neutralising power of pared-down minimalism. 2015 marks the return of Robag Wruhme to the Pampa Records fold, following the whirlwind of acclaim for his 2011 album Thora Vukk. The intervening years now prove to have been worth the wait: Cybekks EP finds Robag on stunning form yet again. Title track "Cybekks" leads off with a weighty tread, thundering downwards with heavy drums and robotic feel, but as always with Robag, there is more than initially meets the ear. His signature blend of shifting textures begins to emerge: cloud-like chords of suspenseful pads appear and disappear on the horizon, shuffling high hats appeal directly to the dancing instinct, while gleaming constellations of high-frequency sounds are dotted over the arrangement's second half. "Anton" returns Robag to melancholic brilliance, with a lilting piano loop and subtle digital trickery that blurs the edges of each note. It is a short reprise with deep emotional impact, and its poignancy remains long after the final fade out. "Volta Cobby" reinvigorates the classic collision of tech, house and stipped-back body music; exploring a multitude of moods via saw-edged melodies, fast-forward voices, and snatches of cymbals, all expertly combined for a late night trip into what makes a dancefloor tick. "Anton2" is the the yin to the yang of its predecessor, drawing on electronica with a pastoral feel to finish the EP on an uplifting note, evoking the dreamy, hazy sunrise of a brand new day. This is another thing of brief yet undeniable beauty, with a revealing glimpse towards the end of Robag's songwriting prowess.

For release number 045, Luv Shack Records brings together two long time contributors Jakobin and ROTCIV for a split EP thats brimming with references to early 90s electronica.

Jakobin lays the foundation with the bubbly, trance infused „Drawan“, follows up with the spooky, upbeat electro of „Skulpt“, and finishes off with „Octagonial Tribe“, a track that oscillates between laid back melodies and squelchy acid sequences.

Adding his first EP to the label’s catalogue, Figure warmly welcomes Vinicius Honorio onto the roster.
Having first made his mark in the DnB-world as BTK, the vetted Brazilian producer now has been conquering the global techno scene for some years as well. His darkly foreboding sound is on full display across this 12“, featuring three clean-cut, impactful original productions and a remix by Len Faki’s Hardspace moniker.

Endless Love comes punching strong, carried by colleague Theo Nasa’s ominous spoken words and evolving stab synths textures. The remix strips back the vocals in favor of reduced frequencies, keeping the heat condensed and always ready to boil over.
On the flip, Honorio introduces his rolling high-energy machine funk, stacking elements around a hypnotic vocal loop and expertly playing the game of build and release. Closer B2 showcases a different style, using subdued dubby chords to craft a dreamy ride that is at once powerful and deep.

With an album as versatile and expansive as his LP Fusion, Len Faki wanted a collection of remixes to display a similar kind of musical variety. Hand-picked from his favorite producers, the cast now features a diverse group of artists who have re-imagined 20 of Fusion's tracks, set to arrive on two double and one single 12" EP.

FigureX39 kicks off the trilogy, with our very own Arthur Robert at the helm, fittingly remaking the album's pensive closer into a melodic peak time stomper. Ø [Phase] ramps up the intensity on straight-laced Temple, keeping the BPM in line with modern techno's need for speed.
On the flip, rRoxymore inverts Tor 8 into a psychedelic funnel of haunted voices and pummeling percussion, while dubby synth swilrs and ferocious filter action give Pangea's rework of Space Cowboys I a distinctly UK-feel.
Coming in as hard hitting as ever, PAS layers high-octane rave stabs and nonstop propulsive drums on his version of Yantra and one of the album's few original house tracks, It's Time … gets the Truncate treatment, making for lean, clap-heavy groover with enough low-end to move some bodies. Often known for his cinematic compositions, Djrum delivers a complex masterpiece of heady drum science and intricate patterns condensed into one dazzling mosaic of sound. Closing this first EP out in style is Munich-based newcomer Polygonia, presenting her shimmering and always shifting remix of Friedrichshain Funk, effortlessly moving between driving rhythms and mystical melodies.
