Following an outing on celebrated Italian label Cosmic Garden, Dynamic duo XPRESSION ready their Low Battery debut with four expressive cuts of jungle laced magic, with deep roots in the quintessential era of rave.

'Nitebreak' moves effortlessly across five minutes of cosmic acid and contemplative rhythms; flickering street lamps lighting the nocturnal city as day turns to night. 'Quadranite' diverts to a steadier pace, its springy percussion, vocal samples and zero gravity grooves giving off the nostalgic energy of a homecoming
visit.

The B side opens with 'Sacred Sessions', a primal slice of breakbeat heaven. Ethereal pads spill out amongst earthy drums in a spiritual relationship between body and soul. 'Quiet Earth' gently brings us back around as the midnight fire slowly begins to dim.

Following a collaborative release on Sherelle and Naina's Hooversound Recordings and EPs on Sneaker Social Club, WNCL Recordings and his own Club Glow (ran alongside Denham Audio, LMajor and Borai), contemporary UK breaksmith Mani Festo readies four typically lairy cuts of gun-finger, rush-in-the-rave energy.

Mani Festo has become something of a breakbeat assassin in recent years with a deserved spotlight being shone on the producer as one of the brightest artists to emerge from within the dark 'n' dutty UK breaks and electro scene. What you see is what you get from Mani Festo; what you're getting is a screwface and a smacked jaw.

'Leviathan' kicks things off with its stripped-back, grime-like textures - distorted kicks, frantic claps and growls from the belly of the beast blend on a minimal-breaks sequence that packs quite a punch despite its uncluttered soundwaves. 'Tethys' follows in a similar vein; distorted screams come from a brass-creature deep in the darkness, scattered percussion and step-tipped production blur the lines between garage, breaks and electro.

Large wubs and basslines guide the listener front left (just make sure you've got your protective earplugs in!) on 'Night Drive' before 'With U' strays down an emotional and introspective route with its otherworldly atmospherics, jungle tones and contemplative stillness - a creative combining of both heaven and hell.

Opener 'Ravers Theme' hits hard, a dance floor hex sure to turn the most unbelieving of heads; shadow and smoke permeate the warehouse walls, with its peak-time sonics bouncing around the room and into ravers' minds. 'Titan' follows suit with it's deep lows and wounding highs, its hypnotic and intangible sensibility adding to its allure. Jubilee's ability to bring together ominous and apocalyptic melodies alongside fierce breakbeat structures, result in a barrage of boundary-defying energy.

As the meandering ravers lose themselves in it's spell 'Eastern Lines' breaches its hold if only for a moment before 'Alchemist' conjures the room to move; the lights flicker and flash moving from one end of the room to another at undetermined speeds; closing a record that's both captivating and relentless.

Opening track 'In Toom' launches a satellite straight into deep space, picking up transmissions from an unknown source. The track deploys alien electronics and other-worldly vocal snippets, building a curious and ghostly atmosphere. Bass lures heavy around the mid-way point creating an increasing sense of unease, as unidentifiable objects head straight for earth. The aptly titled 'Desperately Seeking Summer' is a giant leap toward the good times ahead. You can sense its energy in the air; the smell of freshly cut grass, the charcoal from a newly lit BBQ and the coastal breeze on a warm summer's day. Summer is almost here and we could all do with a serotonin boosting elixir.

The B-side opens with 'Voices' as candy-floss vocals topped with xtra sugar taste even better with every play; while ascending basslines and frenetic drums join hands to produce that FFF energy we all know and love. 'Full of Light' provides tranquility at the end of a wild ride, as shimmering synths shine with radiant bliss with the power to transcend "bathed in light and lifted in what I can only call another dimension."

In what's been a stand out year for the Berlin based, London born, DJ & producer, Amy Dabbs has dropped releases on Lobster Theremin, launched her own label 'Dabbs Traxx' and collaborated with junglist Coco Bryce on new label project 'LT CODA'. With a distinguished sound and undeniable flair, both behind the booth and in the studio, Amy's brand of classic house and radiant jungle now comes to Low Battery with her 'Baddest Gal' EP.

'Don't Go' opens the EP with shimmering synths and lighter than air percussion. The mood is light and understated, conjuring warm and affectionate emotions without the need for amplified design. 'No You' then welcomes us with mid-summer melodies and sprawling pads; vocal loops adding to that feeling of fuzziness and warmth.

The B side opens with title track 'Baddest Gal' an emotional percussive workout that combines thoughtful arrangement with euphoric and dreamy notes. It's one of those tracks that could work just as well in a DJ set or cloud watching as the world slowly drifts by. 'Your Move', The record's finale shows a different side to Amy's dynamic productions; the track ebbs and flows and could be likened to the mixed emotions of meeting an old friend: Excited but nervous, happy but always with a heartheavy goodbye.

Braindance is the second, highly anticipated, collaborative EP from Irish producer DJ Mudak 2000 and French producer FTL, landing on their new label as the debut release.

Produced in Dublin & Paris, the two prolific junglists have encapsulated the intricacies of modern jungle while still highlighting the emotive elements of yesteryear.

The first track "I Wanna" begins as a fantastically light, classic jungle track with piercing soul vocals that unpacks into a soaring brawl of amens and intense 808s. A great representation of the duality of light and dark elements which make this whole EP a standout.

A2 "Barriers" is a driving, high tempo club ready cut. There is absolutely no messing about with this one, in your face reese business for the peak timers. On the flipside, title track "Braindance" is a complex yet ethereal roller carried along by hovering staccato vocals that are contrasted with a deep cutting sub that will hit you in all of the right spots.

The final track "Chasing A Dream" lives up to its name as its emotive synth lines and Sad Boys-esque cowbells will fill you with the tangible feelings of want and passion.

Such was its influence on the evolution of Jungle and DnB, introducing to the world the talent that is DJ Randall and releasing seminal works such as We Are i.e. that the location of that store now carries a heritage plaque. The first-ever reissue of this in-demand 94 jungle scorcher from DJ Fokus.

Having broken out with two 12”s on Monroe Production’s Blueprint Records, DJ Fokus quickly followed up at the Monroe Studios, under the watchful eye of legendary engineer Pete Parsons (Voyager), with two self-funded 12”s on his Suicide imprint before putting pen to paper with Lucky Spin Recordings. Now regularly demanding three figure sums both releases have achieved cult status amongst jungliests both young and old.

Available for the first time since its initial 1994 pressing, this black wax reissue of the first Suicide release was mastered from the original DAT sourced from Pete's personal archive (which includes the name of the previously presumed untitled b-side) and the lacquer cut by Beau Thomas (Babylon Timewarp/Intense). Since Samurai Breaks took home the award for DJ Mag’s ‘Best Breakthrough Producer’ back in 2021, he has been at the forefront of the UK 160+bpm explosion over the last few years.
