Side A begins with Veil of Secrecy, its darkness bubbling up from the depths of a strong bass groove, loaded with rich textures and quirky shifts. Psyk offers his hypnotic trademark on the remix, a stripped down feeling with skillful changes to provoke the mind.

Side B begins with Deep State, its intensity gripping immediately due to its lavish percussion, off-kilter leads and unrelenting rolling bass driving the masterly arrangement. The Fourth Branch marches an eerie minimalism into bass oblivion with an abundance of lush atmosphere and well timed changes.

We recognize that now is a difficult time in society across the globe and especially to our dance music community where the impact is still unknown, however because of this, we believe it is more important than ever to share a common bond and a love for techno.

Hidden proves again its strength in consistency and quality with another hard-hitting four-track EP by label boss, Deepak Sharma.

The 47th release features a collaboration between two friends, techno vets and label owners: Deepak Sharma and Cory James.

The result is a two track EP combining the best of what these experts have to offer in the hypnotic realm: rolling bass, subtle shifts in percussive movement and eerie sounds that create a complete late-night soundtrack.

A Hidden Recordings mainstay, JC Laurent’s once again combines his admiration and respect for Detroit’s gritty past with a modern touch that makes his techno / house sound all his own. Previously on the label, he released “From Nice to Berlin” with a remix from the legendary Fred P. AKA Black Jazz Consortium as well as “Southside” with a remix from UK’s Tom Dicicco (The Corner, Run Out Run). Handling important remix duties is Michigan native Myles Sergé. First introduced to techno in the late 80’s and described as a ‘Reclusive Perfectionist’, his haunting productions reflect influences from early Detroit / Chicago electronic music.

Following up his debut on the label, JC Laurent successfully returns with this memorbable four tracker, “Southside” EP. Using his influences from deep within Berlin and detroit, he resumes where he left off, continually blurring the lines between techno and house with an uncanny ability to make it look easy. similar to 2013’s “From Nice to Berlin”, we have been fortunate to cast an extremely well respected, and in-demand producer to join forces on this release. last time it was Fred P, and now Uk’s Tom Dicicco provides a heady, seductive remix of the title track. Tom has been busy releasing on labels such as Run Out Run, Stockholm LTD, Ear to Ground, Inner Surface and The Corner. additionally, his globetrotting dJ skills have found him inside Berghain and also a standout appearance at Boiler room in london. we love his work and glad he’s a part of it. Wolkenreise finds the duo moving away from the dark, peak hour techno to a gentler sound that flirts with emotive deep house for something classy and inspired. This year has seen Hidden Recordings make a dramatic impact in the world of techno with this release featuring remixes from Ambivalent (Minus), Argenis Brito (Cadenza) and Alexi Delano (Drumcode/ADNY/Clink) and upcoming releases featuring remixes from in-demand artists such as John Tejada, Rene Breitbarth, and DJ Qu, with many more lined up to close out 2010 and kick off 2011.
