Nathan Fake - Sandstone
The final two tracks of the Blizzards Remix EP are Irène Dresel's epic warehouse belting version of Vectra and Nathan's own live version of Torchsong which melds choppy beat juggling with gorgeously glistening synths and is fresh from his recent UK tour. These follow the release of the 90s infused bass heavy Sandstone and Afrodeutsche’s rework of Cry Me A Blizzard, which stripped the original right back to its chords and added her own achingly beautiful vocals, to create a haunting choral ambient artwork. This follows last year’s new album ‘Blizzards’, which was described by The Quietus as “his best work”, and “his best LP yet” yet by Resident Advisor.

electronic luminary Nathan Fake presents the new longplayer ‘Crystal Vision’ on his own Cambria Instruments imprint, which features collaborations with Clark and Wizard Apprentice. This is music for music’s sake – recorded without angles, agendas and themes – so Fake was free to simply continue honing his craft and express himself non-literally. Aptly titled, there’s a clarity of execution and ambition, and a peak effectiveness to the record that just sounds right. Continuing to set a personal bar higher and topping his own best, the mark of master craftsperson is everywhere, but that doesn’t mean it’s polished; There’s plenty of rawness evident, with spiky sonics keeping ears on high alert – full of endorphin-flooded rave energy.

Nathan Fake and Wesley Matsell launch new imprint Cambria Instruments. Very Limited Pressing. "A highly expressive, lysergic trip and one of his finest productions to date. All in all, you couldn't hope for a stronger start from a new label." - Bleep One of the most consistently excellent artists within the Border Community fold, since impressing them with his simultaneously reflective, dance floor jams when just out of his teens in 2003; Nathan Fake is stepping out on his own. With his friend, fellow producer and DJ, Wesley Matsell, Fake has announced the launch of his new imprint, Cambria Instruments, with the first release set to be a split release between the pair. In some ways the title of the imprint follows Fake's interest in exploring the heritage of Britain - most notably on his 2012 record Steam Days, its tracks' titles referencing several historical areas around his native Norfolk. "Cambria is a reference to both Wesley and I," Fake explains. "He's from Wales, and Cambria is an ancient English/Latin name for Wales, so we thought that summed up where the label was coming from." Teaming up with Matsell - himself a Border Community club staple - the pair's first release on Cambria Instruments will be Fake's nocturnal groove-laden track 'Black Drift', coupled with Matsell's similarly crisp mixture of shifting percussion and submerged oscillations, 'Bismuth'. Both tracks have a similarly hi-fidelity feel to them, coupled with - as Fake puts it - "new esoteric melodies and textures previously unheard from both artists".
Details are yet to be confirmed on future releases from outside artists, but solo EPs from the co-founders can expected in the future. With Matsell's far-reaching tastes in everything from fifties electroacoustic, acid house and early Detroit, through to hardcore and rave, nineties techno and noise, the thought of him joining up with Fake's own naturally eclectically-informed mind is an exciting one indeed.

Spincycle - Making Faces

Spincycle - Twister
Mint Condition - A record label focused on excavating the outer fringes of classic House and Techno. Unreleased mixes, classics, overlooked gems and never heard before material, mined from the last 30+ years of contemporary dance music are the order of the day. From Chicago, Detroit and New York, London, Leeds, Berlin and beyond. Mint Condition have got their digging hats on to bring you exclusive heat and those rarer than rare jams that have been in your wants list for years. Dig in...... Following on from highly successful releases on seminal labels such as Surreal, Low Pressings and their own Geek imprint, Andy Davies & Dave Clements, aka Spincycle, unleashed 'Making Faces' on Bushwacka's legendary Oblong Imprint. Originally released in 2002, this release perfectly showcases the duo's unique take on the tech-house & garage sounds that fuelled the UK underground. Over the next 2 decades this classic would become an in demand rarity, as the eye watering discogs prices will attest, so a reissue has been long overdue. 'Making Faces' opens with infectious bongo led percussion, building with crisp hats and snares, the heavyweight bass is deep and warm, dreamy chords add to the atmosphere, before a soaring lead line that oozes with techy soul, builds and drops in all the right places. Next up, UKG inspired 'Twister' is more raw and uncompromising in its approach. Energetic swinging rhythms underpin a monstrous sub bass line to die for, as if that wasn't enough, the duo manage to add yet another rolling bass line showcasing production and programming skills of the highest order. This is indeed a killer 12", packed with energy and heat that sounds as fresh and exciting as ever, and what's more your dancefloors will shudder!! 'Making Faces' has been legitimately re-released with the full involvement of Spincycle, lovingly remastered by London's Curve Pusher from the original DATs especially for Mint Condition. 100% legit, licensed and released. Dug, remastered, repackaged and brought to you by the caring folks at your favourite reissue label - Mint Condition!!

Ben Sterling - Bring Me To The Surface
Ben Sterling joins Damian Lazarus’ renowned Crosstown Rebels imprint, partnering with Caitlyn Scarlett for ‘Don’t Truss’. Building on the release of arguably one of the tracks of 2022 with his remix of Tiga’s iconic ‘Mind Dimension 2’, UK hotshot and Planet X boss Ben Sterling has made 2023 another year of raising the levels, with his debut on Solomon’s Diynamic becoming an instant summer anthem in the midst of his busiest summer to date. Adding yet another huge label debut to the mix, he continues to showcase his range across house music as Damian Lazarus invites him to Crosstown Rebels for the first time, partnering with singer/songwriter Caitlyn Scarlett for ‘Don’t Truss’ on the revered imprint. A rolling and crisp production with Scarlett’s alluring and hooky vocals at its core, it’s easy to see why ‘Don’t Truss’ has become a stand-out track from Sterling’s own sets across the globe over the past 12 months. Fusing tightly programmed percussion, warped murmurs, and a slinking, snaking groove, it’s a track crafted for the dancefloor, moving crowds unison and leaving a lasting impact. On the flip, ‘Bring Me To The Surface’ is a groove-led and bubbling cut that keeps the energy levels with skittering drums, acid-dipped basslines, resonant synths and yet more vibrant vocals.

Do you know what time it is? It's debut o'clock. Emitting his first material for Pampa, it's &ME - craftsman of all things deep and sturdy, at the same time connoisseur of emotive touch and virtuoso of sure instincts, one of the scene's central characters for a good amount of years now and one of the main figures of Berlin's Keinemusik-crew. The man has been hitting the bulls eye of public perception several times in the past, meeting everything it takes to get a crowd going with an intent on the detail when it comes to his arrangements and sound. These new two cuts seem nothing less than the essence of his abilities.
There is "In Your Eyes", the name lending A side to this EP, showcasing a rather pensive mood. It's just a few bars for the compound of kickdrum, tuned hi-hat tambourine and shimmering background noise until the first chords of an improvised piano-piece are tenderly laid upon the beat. Add a synth-motive coming back and forth and you'll have the main ingredients to this - in every sense of the word - floor-moving tune. Accordingly, the arrangement won't aim for an all too obvious sensationalism and rather opts for a flowing and intertwining call and response of its elements, ultimately resulting in a staggering impact anyway.
In comparison, "As Above So Below" on the flipside is adding a fair amount of emphasis. It unfolds in a dry and dense sounding beat-architecture that's suspense-packed with shaker sounds and subtextual field recordings. Most certainly, a slip-proof ground for this tune's centre-piece, a scale-riding synthbass sparking an almost anthemic trigger for floor-ecstasy. While details like subtle reverberating tapping and sparkling ambient textures sound like recorded deep down in a dripstone cave, the overall energetic layout pushes relentlessly to the heights of peaktime-grandeur. There you have it: "As Above So Below" - this tune works on every level.

Jimpster makes a welcome return to Delusions, donning his Franc Spangler cap and serving up three funked-up, disco-infused tracks to get down to. Opening up the release we have party starter Fight The Feeling which sees Spangler work up a rolling groove laced with dubby percussion, horn solos and souring lead synth. Powerslide goes full retro with clav and guitar chops, hammond slides and an irresistible bassline bringing the funk, making for a high energy club cut to nice up the dance floor. Closing out the release we have the deeper, lo-slung bounce of Dance The Funk which comes complete with Prelude-inspired synth stabs, heavy Moog bassline and crunchy house drums.

Special Request, Novelist - Sliver ft. Novelist
2
Special Request, Novelist - Sliver (Instrumental)
Gudu Records is proud to welcome Special Request - aka Paul Woolford - for his first release for the label, a collaboration with constantly innovating London MC Novelist. Pairing Novelist’s unmistakable cadence and flow with classic grime square-waves and booty house-esque drums, ‘Sliver’ has been a highlight of both Special Request and label boss Peggy Gou’s recent sets, climaxing in a tempo change designed to turn the dancefloor inside out. As potent in intimate dark rooms as it is festival main stages, you’ll be hearing this one all Summer and beyond.

Boss Priester - Wek
Boss Priester makes his LOCUS debut with his bustling four-track ‘Hotel Dijon’ EP. Working hard in the studio to develop his own take on minimal-leaning house and techno, The Hague-based DJ/ producer Boss Priester is starting to reap the rewards and emerge as another hotshot from the country’s hotbed of electronic talent. Racking up support from the likes of Dungeon Meat, East End Dubs, Michel de Hey, Dr. Banana and Alec Falconer, his releases on What NxT and Dark Side Of The Sun have accompanied appearances at the likes of Thuishaven, Colorado Charlie and Lovelee. Another fan of the young Dutchman is FUSE and LOCUS boss Enzo Siragusa, and late September brings a first appearance on the latter imprint as he makes his label debut with his four-track ‘Hotel Dijon’ EP. Title track ‘Hotel Dijon’ comes loaded with raw drum licks, cosmic synths and menacing, swirling low-ends for a heavy-hitting opener set to cause serious dance floor damage, while the slinking ‘ROF66’ mixes eerie stabs with shuffling drums and bouncy baselines for another heavyweight anthem. Next, ‘SUP01’ keeps things ticking nicely on a similar tip with yet more punchy percussion arrangements linking with playful sound design peppered with zippy FX, before closing the show with the hopped-up, bass-driven sonics of final effort ‘Wek’.

M.A.N.D.Y. vs Booka Shade - B2. M.A.N.D.Y. vs Booka Shade - Body Language (Original)
Get Physical strides into its 21st year with a reissue of one of its most iconic tunes. M.A.N.D.Y. vs Booka
Shade's 'Body Language' has been remastered for the occasion and will be available on vinyl, as well as
digitally and on streaming platforms for the first time ever, with new remixes from HOSH and Patrice
Bäumel.
Tracklist:
01 M.A.N.D.Y. vs Booka Shade - Body Language (Patrice Bäumel Remix)
02 M.A.N.D.Y. vs Booka Shade - Body Language (HOSH Remix )
03 M.A.N.D.Y. vs Booka Shade - Body Language (Original)
M.A.N.D.Y. aka Patrick Bodmer and Philipp Jung, and Booka Shade, aka Walter Merziger and Arno
Kammermeier, are Get Physical co-founders alongside DJ T., and 'Body Language' is one of the label's, as well
as dance music's, biggest ever tunes. Released in 2005, it defined an entire generation of house music and
spawned myriad copycats in its wake as well as making household names of the artists behind it. It became an
instant classic that worked as well in cosy clubs as it did on festival main stages and it has remained an
ever-green house anthem. The influential track has been sampled many times over the years but nothing beats
the original.
The chunky house drums still sound from the future today, with fleshy hits and warming bass. What makes it such
a standout track, though, is the gorgeous melodic hook that rides up and down the scale. Those soft focus notes
are full of subtle but playful soul that never fails to unify a crowd, bring smiles to faces, and get hands in the air.
The first to remix is acclaimed German artist Patrice Bäumel. He is a master of stylish and deep house and techno
with expressive synth work on labels like Kompakt and his own HALO. His superb version is a complete overhaul
with deeper drums and a sense of late-night tension that is released in glorious fashion when the iconic melody
comes in. It's the sort of tune that is suited to 4 am dance floors and will take things to the next level. The second
remix comes from fellow German HOSH. For many years a core part of the Diynamic family he is also the founder
of the fryhide imprint and an assured underground talent. He layers in some fresh and airy breakbeats to power
along an expansive remix. After a long and atmospheric build with plenty of cosmic synth work, the original
melody arrives during a breakdown and then plays out over the suspensory grooves.
This is a superb package that brings a widely loved favourite back to the fore with contemporary remixes and a
fresh remaster.

Metal Master (Sven Väth) - Spectrum (Bart Skils & Weska Reinterpretation)
2
Metal Master (Sven Väth) - Spectrum (Original Mix)
Tracklist:
(A1) Metal Master – Spectrum (Bart Skils & Weska Reinterpretation)
(B1) Metal Master – Spectrum (Original Mix)
Release Info:
black 12-inch vinyl + cover with rainbow silver foil
You may have already been waiting for this one. After the limited splattered one-sided vinyl edition, this 12-inch pressing comes with the remastered original mix on the B-side.
The original, the second release on the label Harthouse at the time, is an all-time classic and went down in the music history of Frankfurt. Thirty years later, the track by Sven Väth and A.C. Boutsen has not lost its shine and will certainly continue to provide goosebump moments.
Techno is all too often described as timeless but while most of it eventually evaporates into the ether, there are some riffs, melodies, and breakdowns that remain etched into our collective consciousness forever. Legendary Frankfurt label Harthouse is home to more than its fair share of such moments, but you must go all the way back to 1992, the opening strains of the Metal Master classic ‘Spectrum’ to locate the source for this special single-sided remix release.
The common denominator and catalyst to all this is of course Sven Väth, co-creator of ‘Spectrum’ and founder of both Harthouse and Cocoon Recordings, while the independent variables in the equation are Bart Skils and Weska, who lend their considerable talent and vision to this sublime makeover.
Coming on like rolling thunder, sparks fly immediately as crackling vocoder licks, silky ride cymbals and soaring arpeggios build an atmosphere taut with anticipation before giving way to that iconic melody - a love letter from Frankfurt to Ibiza, wrought from metal, drenched in distortion yet pulling at the heartstrings - the perfect soundtrack to any chemical sunrise.
It‘s a powerful re-interpretation that pays the warmest respects to the original and, despite the relentless groove, there is still room for sentimentality - an invitation to momentarily pause for thought and reflect on the journey so far as the sumptuous breakdown washes over the dance-floor. But not for long, the simmering bass line soon emerges from the euphoria and the track kicks in again, driving us forward towards a new, uncharted spectrum of possibilities.
