Censor Music welcomes London Modular Alliance with four original tracks from key member Phil Ventre and a remix from Censor Music boss Alex Jann.

The record opens with title track Glass Cannon - a paranoid and spatial electro bleeper. Jann elevates the dystopian feels with some bang in his Corrupt Data Mix, working some wigged-out mechanics up into this kicking dance floor mover.

On the other side Ventre plays with beat constructions having full on fun with his creativity. Lo-slung drums and floating synth stabs open up Mom’s Knife before it builds into a pacey shuffler. Super Hang On launches off tumbling, cut-up amen’s which land on a jumpy kick and dirging bassline. Low Swung shows off Ventre’s beat programming at his most syncopated and frantic, a neat ending for this varied release from a modular synth expert.

Constant Sound's electro arm, Infiltrate, calls upon the considerable talents and technical heft of London Modular Alliance for a bruising EP of body-popping exploration strapped to a tough n' funky beatdown. "Crack Fox" is as nervy and nimble as the title might suggest, while "Regular Customer" takes things in a hyper-detailed direction compatible with the kind of advanced machine funk you expect from Silicon Scally. "Blinky" follows suit with another artfully woven web of twitchy synth hooks and deftly sequenced drums, and then "Other Worlds" switches things up with some seriously hefty bass pressure pivoting around a dubstep attitude towards space and moodiness. Moons Delux’s ‘Know No Better (London Modular Alliance Remix)’ is a crossover masterpiece. LMA’s take on the Irish band’s song sees them use a sprawling, vocal introduction, (with a vocal that might be more reminiscent of the likes of Caribou or even Thom Yorke) which eventually breaks to give way to a devastating barrage of beats that will no doubt see a broad range of DJs find space in their bags for it. ‘No Response’ strips things right back, tight, minimal production which is brimming with elastic funk and character - electro boogie. On the flip, ‘Chrome’ is a purist masterclass, energetic percussion, deep sub bass and detailed arrangement make it a versatile cut. The EP rounds off with ‘Super Jupiter’, and by no means are LMA letting up - the very fact that a track of this stature is final cut on the EP shows the sheer craftsmanship on display.

4th Wave appeared on the Techno scene in the mid-90’s and like a comet shone blindingly before quickly passing rarely to be seen again.

Fortunately 2 glorious EP’s were left in its trailblazing wake; the Touched EP for Carl Craig’s Planet E label in 1995 and Attention Please for Kirk Degiorgio’s Op-Art offshoot label in 1996.

This release has been approved by Steve Paton - the producer behind 4th Wave - who wasn’t easy to track down. Lovingly remastered from the original first generation DAT masters, this EP adds a bonus track “Lounge Music” previously released on the Objet’s D’Art III Compilation and never before available on vinyl.

The music is classic golden-age UK Techno. Detroit influenced with a European twist - the original copies are scarce and only available for collectors prices on the used market. This re-issue makes all four 4th Wave Op-Art tracks available to a new generation and collectors alike. More

The next in ART’s classic Remaster series is another gem from the early Eevolute catalogue. Max404’s (Erwin van Moll) “Recycler” EP was originally released in 1992 during the heyday of European Techno meets Detroit influences.
The legendary Solid Bass DX100 preset sound dominates the opening track showing its Detroit influences from the off. Mamoulian brings the European EBM/synthwave sound to the fore whilst Hangover merges the Chicago/Detroit sounds in a funk bass led feast.
Fractal View was the big hit from the EP. A techno-breaks hybrid perfect for the raves of today and yesterday. The EP ends with the dark, heavy breakbeat Quiddity - a haunting track that ensures ths classic eclectic EP stays in the mind forever.
Never previously reissued in its full vinyl format and only previously available as an in-demand original with prices to match - the remaster meticulously brings the sound up to modern standards. More
