After releasing ‚Morgenland’ album Der Dritte Raum Record's stable drops their eight EP, bringing up Hale Bopp, which some of you may know from trance shenanigans back in the roaring 90’s. What makes it even more better then the original classic track are the re-interpretations. Ricardo Villalobos & Cavaan flashes their acclaimed producer talents and their works are both very original and quite different from each other. Since his epics like 'Easy Lee' and 'Dexter,' Villalobos has kept stretching out his music, and his Hale Bopp version is full of rhythms and more changing than ever -- meandering in ever-widening circles. Same is Cavaan’s remix. It’s drifting on their own with spiraling barbed rhythms that emerge from couplings of analogue machines. The Ison Adaption on B2 is remodeled by Krüger himself and on all remixes the main-melody is kept, although no samples are used, making it rather different from the original.

US born and meanwhile in Berlin residing Kevin McHugh aka Ambivalent presents his Cocoon Recordings single debut. Ambivalence seems to the be the musical direction here. "Daylights" is a sheer technomonster, musclepacked and full of dark detroit flavour but the used vocal samples and the harmonic synthstrings can't hide the magic touch of "Daylights". Although the massive techno bassline is the star of this track we are sure it will find its way into the sets of many house DJs, too.
In contrast to that "Swung Out" appears way more like pure techno and cannot be filed as house at all. We are hypnotized by the shuffled rim shots and hi hats and Ambivalent drives this one straight through the dub universe. Techno is the destination and the dark vibe of "Swung Out" makes it a perfect after hour weapon.

Kicking off with the unhurried ssures of ‘WOUH’, a time stopping piece set to distract and provoke new observations with each listen. Typical of Jaar’s pieces, ‘WOUH’ threads sparse arrangements, quirky gulps of sound and electric ambiance in a complex tapestry of engulng harmony. The anthemic ‘Love You Gotta Lose Again’ moves into contrasting boundless activity with broken beats, triumphant singing and pleasant guitar licks. The track is laden with allure and magnetism and made for endless enjoyment at any time. ‘Don’t Believe The Hype’ retreats into mystique again - a cascading mass of body moving sound simmering with broodiness and secrecy, it is short, sharp and succinct in its action to arouse the listener’s senses. Red Axes are very excited to present the first part of their new project called: "Trips", a multi media venture combining music, film and travelling across the globe in pursuit of extra ordinary collaborations.

Niv Arzi and Dori Sadovnik are seeking to discover new grounds and sounds, and to record local musicians, indigenous instruments and present workshops for youth music schools.

In March of 2017, the Israeli duo touched down in Africa for the first time, and set up camp in both Ethiopia and Ivory Coast, yielding In Africa, a triple header EP which features three slices of contemporary body music, with both East and West African musical motifs.

The project will always present a musical release, on vinyl and digital, that was created on the trip, accompanied with a documentary, showing the whole journey.

The Music;
A1 sees Red Axes and seven-piece Ivorian band, Yakomin, intertwine mechanical drum-machine passages with breathing, live percussion and recordings of instruments indigenous to the West African costal region. Amuse’s dusty, afrofunk-leaning synths pair excellently with the celebratory singing and rhythms by students from Abidjan’s Insaac Music School. Addis Sababa’s overdriven, analog electronics escort lesser-known wind and plucked instruments to the sunny finish line. in trademark Red Axes style.

The Film;
An accompanying documentary by Nimrod Von Keren, entitled TRIPS #1 - Africa, is soon to be unveiled, which showcases the magic moments behind this first-of-many, transcontinental, nonstandard collaborative experiences.

The Show;
On August 23rd, we will present a one of a kind performance with 3 of the amazing musicians we worked with in Ivory Coast, from the band Yakomin. The show will happen at "Sacred Music Festival" in Jerusalem, and this is the most amazing closure, the band and Red Axes could have dreamed of. The artists will prepare a special set up of tracks recorded together, and new organic interpretations for their biggest tracks.

DJ Koze doesn't aim for technical perfection for its own sake, but rather to serve the purpose of giving birth to great music. On his debut 'Rue Burnout EP' from his own Pampa label, he plays with finesse and sophistication, and implicitly understands the importance of subtlety, leading from dreamy and restrained parts to a noisy frenzy at the end. 'Blume der Nacht' starts with a looped piano solo from Arabian dodecaphony, interwoven with bangs of violine bows, piercing high-pitched strings, almost shrieking glissandi, deep angel chants and obsessive sharp rhythms. The 37 year old constantly horny wunderkind producer has made a habit of creatively foiling expectations, and works also under the pseudonyms Adolf Noise, Swahimi and recently Madima Lokkah to redefine the boundaries of electronic music. This daring concept works perfectly in the title track 'Rue Burnout' - it is very rare that you find house music this excitingly light-fooded and precisely transparent. The musician cuts the pigtail off the term 'Kackmusik' for good, and demonstrates how sounds are capable of creating the most delicate musical interplay.
