Ozunu is a three-track single cut, including the title track, from an album released digitally on Chillmountain Rec last year in 2021.

Inspired by the old tales of South Osaka, the EP is full of twisty, acidic house, rickety percussion, psychedelic overdubs, and ridiculously fat bass. Chugging synthesizers and squidgy bass notes form a bright, meandering groove. More

When the world slipped into madness last month, the ESP Institute put most releases on the back-burner to await brighter days, but then we thought again; why not approach these odd circumstances the way we do most realities, positively and head-on? We’re committed to a community that builds new worlds — this is fundamental to our creative and spiritual relationship with Osaka-born, cosmos-straggling artist, Ground — and while temporarily we can’t physically congregate to uplift each other, its our responsibility as an institution to maintain a platform for prolific creative pioneers, our cherished cartographers of cognitive escape. 'Wakusei' is wonderfully confusing and disorienting music, a follow-up EP to 2018’s critically acclaimed album 'Sunizm', not created specifically for life under lockdown, but nonetheless aptly suited to help release angst, guide meditation, and assist in making this moment in history more interesting if not transcendental. Whereas 'Sunizm' relied on field recordings gathered from rainforests, percussions learned from imaginary ancient civilizations, and the somehow organic freneticism of a mission control meltdown, the aesthetic of 'Wakusei' reduces this abstract instrumentation one step further to a more base-level array of gurgling synth scraps, accelerating engine friction and static-bound phonetic mistakes, all scrubbed into dust by a Brillo pad of white noise. The cliché of “great art is born out of hard times” is not lost upon us — of course the world will look back to this turmoil and its residual contributions to culture — but we see today's art as an immediate coping mechanism, and artists like Ground helping to unlock and navigate internal utopias. JIN enters autumn with a familiar yet evolving sound. For our eighth release (JIN08), we are delighted to have Tokyo's house wizard, Gonno, make his long-awaited return to JIN with a full EP, after the still talked about JIN01 quintessential remix of Initials B.B.'s "Paradise Patterns".

For this release, Gonno delivers 3 astonishing tracks. A1 features Gonno’s trademark melodic house bomb. B1 is an instantly mind-blowing IDM 2-1-2 floor shaker. Then for B2, he brilliantly closes out the EP with a floating ambient tune.

Rounding out this release on A2 is Gonno's dear friend from Paris, synth specialist Voiski, with a 4/4 remix that takes you on a uniquely classy trip. More

For this striking 7th EP, we are lucky to have Mr. Ho back for another massive delivery. This time complete with fully versatile house music.

A1 “Burrow” storms out the gate with an acid attack. The spooky bassline, punchy drums, and acidic atmosphere makes this the complete peak time bomb.

Then the EP smoothly roles into the A2, “TCB2”. A loopy, repetitive drum pattern that is guaranteed to feature for many on repeat mode.

For B1’s “Shoplift” Mr. Ho brings out the melody. This is a feel-good tune featuring an old school jungle-like drum pattern that makes this a great summer outdoor weapon.

Finally, Mr. Ho’s Klasse Wreck partner in crime Luca Lozano provides a silkier twist on “Shoplift” for a vinyl only remix.

Taiwanese label JIN records enters autumn 2022, with a new promising release by South Korea’s Yetsuby. As always searching for gems in the pan-Asian domain, JIN is delighted to have Yetsuby for its latest/6th release.

On this EP, one-half of the ambient duo Salamanda, Yetsuby showcases her expertise in mood setting soundscapes, taking listeners on a sound journey across a wide array of musical spectra.

Opening on A1, Yetsuby reinterprets a traditional Korean folk story of a bear devouring garlic and green onions, transforming the animal into a human being. Aptly named ” Bear Becomes The Human,” she transforms the transformed, turning the bear into a buzzing modern drum & bass-fused energetic tune. It turns out garlic is a powerful source after all.

B1’s “Jelly” showcases Yetsuby’s talent for stripped-back glitch music: With a minimal bass and drum pattern, the track gently muddles along and presents itself as well suited warm-up track for the earlier hours of any party.


For the remix sides, Cleveland delivers a vinyl only remix of “Bear Becomes The Human” with a futuristic house tune filled with jungle like drum pattern and techy yet smooth atmosphere on A2.


On B2, New Zealand’s Eden Burns takes an entirely different path on his reinterpretation of Jelly. Embarking from the original pattern, he turns the original into a slow brewing psychedelic trance cracker that seems most suited for the early morning after hours that need an energy boost. More

JIN05 enters the winter season with a funky warmth from synthesizer specialist Romain FX. Based in Lyon, raised in Taiwan and Hong Kong, Romain is a true multi-culturist. Growing up only speaking Mandarin in Taipei, then got in touch with keyboard at legendary Shaw Studio in Hong Kong at age of 16. A1 “?? Jiéhé” ( in English means Combine) and B1 Flagada both showcases Romain’s technical skills on boards and also his playful jam session disco vibe.

Remixes come in 2 opposite forms:On A2 Zurich’s Ozelot Records head honcho Manuel Fischer surprisingly delivers with an experimental approach, turning Jiéhé to a moody, dub funk. Choppy kicks and woozy atmosphere makes this a late night dance floor favourite cut. Then Telephones finishes up the EP on B2 with a total, 90’s peak time euphoric bomb, transforming “Flagada” into a pumping feel good vibe that is a must get weapon for all house heads and ravers alike. JIN’s 2nd EP storms out the gate with Hong Kong’s finest Mr. Ho. The Klasse Wreck’s head honcho boss drops three originals.

A1 “Holy Smokes” is a slow-motion, acid-flavored chugger, making one feel like snake-rolling through Hong Kong’s urban jungle. B1 “Not Good with Others,” a no BS bassy and bossy track, swings with a filthy kick from the get-go. The EP finishes with B3 “Emo Springs”, which blends futuristic jungle, tribal, house, and juicy basslines into a must-get dance floor heater.
