Karlovak related project from Mr Tophat who has a lot to tell about the release!! A beautiful triptych all build around field recordings molded into a lovely collection of lush tracks suited for the club and the ambient room! This is what Mr Tophat wants to share; " The first ideas of creating an actual album came in the spring of 2016, not long after the breakup from a long relationship. A dark time full of contemplation and re-evaluation of my life. That September I got the first sonic images. Right after a month I'd spent living on Ibiza. The powerful sunsets, the dramatic skies over the Balearic sea, the starlit nights and the beautiful sunrises. I remember swimming in the ocean with a view of a pretty horizon, filled with love and soft emotions. I remember I standing alone in the pitch black night, how I met the Mediterranean storm and heavy rain hit my cheeks. It felt as I was crying and screaming, even though there was noting but silence. The thunder lit up the cloudy sky like a stroboscope, to suddenly a few hours later with the turn of dawn bring everything into a calm and peaceful nature of sinus - like everything was reset. The fundamental state of mind to perceive a real world more like the unreal; mesmerise and tilt the present understanding of being alive made me scared. Dramatic and dynamic. Partly hard and treating but also soft, gentle and friendly. Horrifying but still so beautiful. This remind me of life, death, primal aspects and the biological processes in general. Everything started when my childhood friend Kalle and I first visited Berghain. It was 2008 and we where 18 years old. We had found each other being two individualists with our own nerdy interests. Together we plunged into them, Kalle in hairstyling, me in electronic dance music, computer games and cyber-punk. With borrowed ID's, platform shoes, blue-dyed hair and the idols form 'The Party Monster' we overdressed and started raving in the forests and clubbing in the city of Stockholm. Berlin and Berghain became a place we went and visited almost once a month during a two year period. The city in itself, and the club in particular, has been giving us so much inspiration, creativity and early on even a meaning of life. To this day Kalle still lives in Berlin together with his husband. Ever since those days I've always loved and felt a big passion for the rave- and club-scene. As a space where you can freak out, be yourself, queer and believe in hedonism. It shall and should be about freedom. I guess that's why the scene and the music attracted me. Something I've lately been thinking of is why do people often not dance when they go out? From that thought ideas were born and I started to create a body of music that would maybe work better for the concert hall or a theatre rather than a proper night club. If people want to go out and hear and enjoy dance music without moving their own bodies, then why not go out on a Thursday and sit down in a nice, soft chair and enjoy two hours of the highest class of contemporary music and stage art - dance? Because the past and our history is what the new and the contemporary is built upon. It moves my thoughts towards dance and the club scene. It all started with make-up, rave, ecstasy, angst, glamour and life. The turquoise sky and the coloured sea in peach were faded together into a seamless vision, the horizon was impossible to navigate; meanwhile the bright dusk was filled with hate, darkness and mayhem. Nature - so simple, but still so complex. My legacy is the night - Dusk to Dawn. Mr. Tophat"

The story of how we heard about D.J. City.
Once upon a time P.P. D.J.ed in Stockholm. Picked up by legend Sling from the airport, with what I recall was a very nice old Jeep, that had a tape deck.
That Tape deck was playing a cassette that quickly caught our attention. We found out, on it was „1- 800 Techno“, a project by another local legend D.J. City. Somehow we received the tape and digital files and have been playing them ever since.
Years later we met D.J. City at a gig for Cocktail D’Amore, it was a brief and pleasant introduction as he was handing over the decks to us.
It took some more time until we really got in touch and started a work relation that quickly turned into friendship. Circa 10 years later, we have the opportunity to properly shine light on this project that started it all.
You can listen to the full release digitally and on Vinyl for the first time. „1-800 Techno“ that is Karl Lihagen & Johan Norling (aka D.J. City) with „For Several Eternals Before There Were Years“. This I guess is what you call a „full circle moment“. Enjoy!

It took some more time until we really got in touch and started a work relation that quickly turned into friendship. Circa 10 years later, we have the opportunity to properly shine light on this project that started it all.

The number of shots is limited to a maximum of three per day. Upon a hit, the flower is replaced by a new one, the action ends and is continued the next day with a new flower. The bullet holes in the wall are not removed. The flowers remain lying on the floor until the end of the exhibition or event and are then given away.

Back in the early 90's Dave Coker, Justin Bailey and Laurant Webb set up a music production studio a stones throw away from the famous Cutty Sark in Greenwich, along with Dave " Deptford " Pine as one the founders of the aforementioned studio. They called themselves Strangeweather, worked on different dance music styles and formed the fabulously awesome, but slightly ill fated band Wubble U. Around the same time Justin struck up a friendship with Nathan Coles, a then madly enthusiastic young DJ who was starting to make a name for himself on the thriving underground house scene. Nathan introduced Justin to Terry Francis and the rest of the crew and collectively the formed Housey Doings. They released two records on the Bush subsidiary imprint Green Grass and as if by magic tech house was officially born.
Fast forward a couple of years and the boys replaced the 's' with a 'z' and struck out on their own. This is a re-release of the first record on the label they named after the now legendary club night Wiggle. Two sides of proper, UK style tech house - a sound that's been copied, plagiarized and endlessly imitated. But never bettered.

Paris-based DJ & producer Anetha returns with "Body Changes Are Natural", the second release on her fresh label Mama Told Ya featuring Niki Istrefi and Hadone
As illustrated in the first record, Mama Told Ya dives into the idea of collaboration as a creative medium, which aims to challenge artists to strive to produce something new. Anetha appreciates to connect and explore with producers from different corners of the scene to experiment with diversity. Each project has two different artists with a collaborative track each with Anetha and a track of their own.
For this new chapter, Anetha invited Copenhagen's rising producer Niki Istrefi who is responsible for the inaugural EP of the iconic Euromantic label. On the other side, Possession resident Hadone, also known as half of 90s Process, joins the team for a balanced EP of both emotional and fast-paced rhythms.
The process for the label's graphic concept is similar to the music. The artwork for this new EP was produced by the London-based visual artist Claire Barrow who made an ethereal and bright coloured painting for the cover. One can see emerging faces morphing into the background, referring back to the natural body changes to embody the vision of Mama Told Ya's second release.
"Body Changes Are Natural" is a seamless sequel to the first release "Don't Rush To Grow Up", showcasing an array of experimentations. Opening the first track with one of Copenhagen's finest Niki Istrefi, who takes charge with a booming tune named 'No Ordinary Love'. The track is driven by pummelling kicks and complimented by piercing synths. Up next is 'One more cartoon, please', the collaboration between Anetha and Niki. This cut showcases a playful production between tribal elements and an intoxicating melody that perpetrates the signature sound of Mama Told Ya.
On the B-Side we are introduced to French native Hadone, who is crushing sets at clubs all over Europe. His tune with Anetha '4pm Snacks' focuses on hi-NRG kicks at 140bpm with smooth siren-like melodies keeping the madness at a high throughout. The final solo track 'Hiding My Machine' by Hadone is heavily IDM-inspired with a complex drumming progression and soft synths. Makes it a flawless ending to a record with 4 varied stories through the intensity of euphoria.

Coming hot on the heels of Khidja's return to the label with their Never Seen The Dunes EP, is a set of remixes by friends and family of the label and band, featuring no less than Discodromo, Inflagranti, Red Axes and Selvy on mixing desk duties. A proper Remix EP with all 4 tracks from the original EP getting a proper European flavoured rework. Starting with Discodromo, this dynamic Italian duo produce for the likes of Dissident, Internasjonal and Slow Motion Records, DJ around the globe and run the exemplary CockTail's d'Amour label out of their Berlin base. Their unique take on the modern discoid sound is perfect for the title track and taking right to the red zone. Adding pulsating bass, driving appegio, all while allowing the bump of the original to keeping pushing things on, it's a perfect introduzione. This is followed by Inflagranti's inspired retake of the deeper vibes of Aura. A huge favourite of the label, the Swiss team keep the bass and dam' funk, but head straight for the autoban to create an old school NYC electro-dub style remix. A matured cruiser that keeps the swing, it all leads to those strings and Eastern flavours gliding over for the perfect finale. Things head darker on the reverse, with Tel Aviv's shinning stars Red Axes, maning the controls for the scatter bounce of Indecis for the stand out remix. Twisted vocals, brooding FX and reversed guitar all atop a mesmeric kick, things just keeps going higher and higher. Finally The Quiet Before The Red Stop is passed on to a name for the future, Selvy. With appearances on Polish Cut Outs and a recent EP for Transatlantyk, here he takes the 'Balearic' grooves of the original adding some club bumpin' bottom end and kick while maintaining a lightness for the White Isles. Rhythm Section International proudly presents it’s 8th offering from local boys Chaos in the CBD. Born in New Zealand, but based in Peckham for the last few years (literally just around the corner from Henry Wu and Bradley Zero), these brothers have made a real mark on the scene here in London town and with their latest set of productions are set to take this message further afield.
Having already released internationally on labels such as ClekClekBoom (Paris), Hot Haus (London) and Amadeus (Montreal), the duo’s approach to production has matured immeasurably in the last year, as is evident in the restrained potency and poetic subtlety on the 4 tracks across this accomplished EP, Midnight in Peckham.
Taking it’s title from the locale the boys have come to know as home, the record channels a delicate late night energy - equally indebted to the hypnotic incantations of Ron Trent as it is to the hazy suburban atmospheres of Burial. These 4 classic cuts pay homage to deep house in it’s truest sense - at once sublime, melancholy and meditative . Chaos in the CBD have clearly taken their cue from the mid-west masters of the genre but have not been afraid to let their own influences and environ creep in, and in doing so have created something that is unmistakablely London and infact, timeless.
