Four of DFTD’s latest releases have arrived on wax for the very first time. The A-side begins with Darius Syrossian & George Smeddles’ collaboration ‘Back In The Dance’. This uplifting dancefloor-ready groove with ‘90s influences marked a solid return to the floor after a long lockdown, and quickly became a favourite of top selectors. Next up on the A-side is the Transcriptions Mix of youANDme’s raw DFTD debut: ‘Moment’. Released in collaboration with Georgian singer-songwriter Kristina Sheli, this record cemented their status as contemporary powerhouses of the Berlin club scene. The B-side opens with OFFAIAH’s ‘Up All Night’, a fiery track that makes the perfect addition to any house set; the Las Vegas based artist continues to demonstrate his taste for catchy hooks and intense builds. The B-side continues with a record that has consistently dominated dancefloors throughout summer ’22, Marco Faraone’s powered-up remix of R.E.A.D’s ‘Where’s My Phone?’ featuring Sailor Jane, which closes out the package. Continuing to champion some of the finest underground artists and rising stars, DFTD has become a label synonymous with top tier club tracks. Although 2020 may have seen a temporary pause put on live events, it has not stopped the imprint delivering an array of releases designed with the dancefloor in mind. Now this 12” release highlights four of DFTD’s hottest tracks from the year, making a record box essential for discerning club DJs. Kicking off the A-Side with Catz ‘N Dogz ‘Revolution’, a gloriously bumpy and rave-ready cut, Gettoblaster’s ‘This Beat’ comes next, maintaining the energy with bold hats and industrial synths to boot. The Accapella of ‘This Beat’ completes the A-Side, a deep and dark spoken-word tool for DJ sets. Sorley’s label debut ‘Deadeye’ kicks off the flip side, an irresistible cut that was championed by tastemakers like Danny Howard, Michael Bibi, Matthias Tanzmann and Davie Squillace. Finally, closing out the EP is Ashibah’s ‘Devotion’, with a rumbling bassline and adrenaline-fuelled synth stabs, married together with her self-recorded vocal.

DFTD is a new, breakout label to Defected Records focusing on fresh, new and undiscovered talent from around the globe - along with the occasional curveball release from established acts. DFTD complements its parent with a more diverse musical remit, releasing a broad range of electronic music, focussing on quality, discerning dance music. This is the very first vinyl sampler from the label, showcasing three incredible forthcomings tracks, all due to drop on digital early in the summer. First up is Hope from Guti, a stunning Balearic cut from an Argentinian artist who has previously released his outstanding material on Crosstown, Cecile and Supplement Facts. Created with the White Isle in mind, it features a warm bottom end and the intoxicating vocal from Jason Hate’s ‘Pray For Love’; the much lauded track has been a staple of Guti’s sets for some time now and finally sees a release on DFTD. Mercury steps up next with a stripped-back, bass-driven version of Jonas Rathsman’s Tobago - the original mix of which was initially licensed to Chris Malinchak’s French Express label. Rounding things off is Forrest., and artist who shot to notoriety on labels including Noir Music, Souvenir and Gruuv.
