Shaun Reeves & Tuccillo - Anak
Frequent collaborators Shaun Reeves and Tuccillo team up on Archie Hamilton’s Moscow Recordings, bringing three intricate cuts plus a remix from Premiesku member Floog. Both artists have been releasing music for over a decade with Tuccillo making appearances on Inermu, Holic Trax, Djebali and 8bit, whilst Reeves initially burst onto the scene via Raum…music and Wolf + Lamb before co-founding Visionquest where he still continues to release the bulk of his work. That label is also where the pair initially joined forces and, aside from an outing on One Records and Shantu, where the two have consistently collaborated. Following the release of Archie Hamilton’s debut album, Reeves and Tuccillo now join Moscow Recordings alongside artists like Argy, Noha, Mennie and Floog. Meandering onwards, ‘Fill Callings’ is a deep and dubby cut with pulsating bass, skipping hats and metallic whirrs. Next, ‘Chaboi’ ups the tempo, implementing a compelling groove whilst deep chords are joined by various tiny elements that pan throughout the mix, leading into ‘Anak’ – a stripped back number with a mean bassline, crystalline stabs and murmuring vocals. On remix duties, Romanian producer Floog adds extra thud to ‘Fill Callings’ courtesy of pronounced kicks and a reverbing snare that drives the track forward whilst a combination of distorted effects squelch and rattle.

shaun reeves & tuccillo - Tessera
Visionquest embark on a brand-new voyage as founding member Shaun Reeves takes the mantle once again. Reuniting with kindred spirit Tuccillo for another no-rules, boundary-blurring session, it’s their most explorative collab EP to date. Picking up where previous collaborations such as ‘Seclusions’ and ‘Smile’ left us, the lead track ‘Shade’ reminds us of the duo’s innate ability to lure you deep into their groove unwittingly. Misty, and pensive, this one’s deep coded with unmistakable Visionquest atmospherics as each element gradually unfolds. Elsewhere amid the ageless shadows we have the stark, sensual stripped-back struts of ‘Cavernous’, an uplifting piece where a restrained-yet-bumping groove is laced with garage style vocals and a sublime synth twist midway. Deeper again we strike more mystic noir…. ‘Superstitions’ rolls out over a stately 8+ minutes, building gradually with percussive hypnosis and the dark art of subtlety while ‘Tessera’ brings the EP to a close with strong levels of funk and feel good. A reference to their own collaborative project Shantu, it’s a devilish fusion of velvet android bass, evocative humanised textures and beat that draws you in but leaves more than enough room on this voyage to take in each perfectly considered and sculpted element. Enjoy the view…

Shaun Reeves & Tuccillo mark Visionquest’s first release of 2017 with their ‘Origin 99’ EP, comprising four collaborative original tracks from the pair. Individually Shaun Reeves and Tuccillo have been driving forces in the realms of underground house for quite some time, collectively releasing on labels such as Raum, 2020 Vision, Circus Company and more. This time round though the pair’s material finds a home with Visionquest, label co-founder Shaun Reeves joins forces with Tuccillo, following his solo ‘Full Time’ EP on the imprint in 2016, for a new synergistic release. Up first is title track ‘Origin 99’ which sees the pair deliver a smooth understated house style via organic percussion, winding dub stabs and tension building atmospheric to create a subtly evolving six and a half minute cut. ‘One Two Five’ follows and lays focus on a more stripped-back aesthetic with sparse rhythmic hits, tumbling sub hits and a dreamy bell chime melody. ‘Prowler’ opens the latter half of the package with soft chord sequences and wandering delayed synth lines running alongside 303 bass and shuffled snares before ‘Blood Moon’ closes the package on a raw minimalistic vibe with swirling dub echoes and intricately evolving percussion.

shaun reeves & tuccillo - Blue Elephant (Dorian Paic's Brew House Dub)
For the first time in too long, influential Visionquest founder, DJ and producer Shaun Reeves is back with a new EP. This one - the label's 50th, no less - comes in collaboration with acclaimed Italian House producer Tuccillo, features two essential new tracks and comes with a fantastic remix by Dorian Paic. Shaun has released on the likes of Crosstown, Wolf + Lamb and Catwash and has worked with Art Department and DJ W!ld, but here it is well informed house man and 2020 Vision and Holic Trax associate Tuccillo that is his musical paring partner. Together the pair really hit it off with some truly infectious club tracks. Up first, 'Seclusion' is a deep, scurrying house cut with bulbous bass, subtle vocal sounds that add a vital human element and plenty of uplifting pads. Truly conjuring up a mood and groove that is fresh and original, it sounds like little else out there right now. The comes 'Blue Elephant,' another lithe and elastic, rubbery and compelling house track with mysterious little voices buried deep amongst bell sounds, finger clicks and spooky synths. Curious and intriguing, it's as stimulating for the head as it is the heel and it marks another fine return for Reeves. Dorian Paic is a techno man with releases on Cocoon and Raum…Music and his Craft Brew House Dub is hard hitting, with high drums, oodles of reverb and a stern groove all burrowing deep. It's a peak time cut that will make dance floors sweat, and is a great take on the more subdued original. Once more here the Visionquest label and co-founder Shaun Reeves have all come up with the taste making electronic goods that are sure to soundtrack many a club night in the ensuing months.

Archie Hamilton feat. Onallee - Eye Of The Storm (Bushwacka! Remix)
Radio Slave and Bushwacka! remix ‘Eye Of The Storm’ featuring vocalist and drum ’n bass royalty Onallee, with label boss Archie Hamilton serving up a fresh VIP mix. Taken from Hamilton’s debut album ‘Archive Fiction’, which dropped earlier this year on Moscow Records, ‘Eye Of The Storm’ featuring Reprazent artist Onallee, gets the remix treatment from two renowned producers with a reimagined garage inspired mix from the boss himself. Two acclaimed British artists, Rekids boss and esteemed remixer Radio Slave leads the release with Hamilton’s VIP mix alongside Olmeto and Plank Records owner and artist Bushwacka! Radio Slave’s remix of ‘Eye Of The Storm feat. Onallee’ opens with a thundering kick, haunting effects, rolling vox-cuts and rattling hats with an ecstasy inducing breakdown. Archie Hamilton’s VIP mix then goes down a classic bubbling bassline route, featuring crunchy cymbals and phasing synths when Bushwacka! then goes on to close the release with break styled drum programming, rumbling toms, zapping flute like samples and jungle shakers on his remix.

Charlie Banks - Flight Mode (Archie Hamilton Remix)
Following his debut on Archie Hamilton’s Moss Co., UK producer Charlie Banks now joins MoscowRecords bringing a pair of intricate house cuts with the label boss on remix duties. Hamilton has been playing the Gottwood Festival DJ’s music in his sets for years now and following his ‘One Morning In Staines EP’ on Moss Co. Charlie Banks has seen further support from artists like Seb Zito, Diego Krause, and Traumer. Appearing on Moscow Records, the breakthrough London-based producer returns for his second statement release of 2019. Opening his next release, ‘Flight Mode’ instantly deploys a sultry bassline as trickling subtleties operate alongside crunchy snares, making way for a stuttering warped melody and crystal synths – the result is both deep and energetic. On the flip, thudding kicks and echoing effects lay the foundations for ‘Project X’ as a meandering sequence joins a thunderous low-end. Tying it all together, Archie Hamilton’s remix of ‘Flight Mode’ boasts a complex rhythm from the off as various different percussive elements interlink to create a mesmerising dancefloor roller complete with acid licks.

Floog - Balance Right

Floog - Amiba Ta

Floog - Sepe Patru
Renowned live artist and Premiesku member Floog delivers four shimmering microhouse cuts on Archie Hamilton’s Moscow Records this September. Hailing from the vibrantly active house and techno scene of Romania, Floog has established himself as one of the country’s most distinguished artists with releases on labels like Mulen Records, Atipic, Joule and MEOKO. One third of the Premiesku group alongside Livio & Roby, he has specialised in capturing the infectious rhythm of drum machines and analogue synths with regular support from Apollonia, Petre Inspirescu, Raresh, Priku, Sonja Moonear, and many more. ‘The Gathering’ kick starts the release with layered claps, a low-end analogue hook and tantalising high stabs, before ‘Balance Right’ continues his signature minimal aesthetic with sparkling bleeps, sweeping vocals and a catchy synth loop. On the flip ‘Amiba Ta’ gives an eerie feel whilst tight drums lock in the groove, until finally ‘Sepe Patru’ closes the package with decayed voices, bouncing side-chained bass and saturated snare layers.
