Going forward in exquisite style, Marina releases her second outing on her own Sweet State imprint, matching three deftly produced originals with three remixes from Gerd Janson, Earl Jeffers and Tatyana Jane. Launching in 2021 with her ‘Free Mind EP’ complete with remixes from Cinthie and Anna Wall, ‘Imperméable en été’ now follows up - sure to further cement her position as an artist in the ascendancy.

On this long-awaited release, Marina Trench delivers three originals cuts, that range from the colourful opener and nu disco lovely ‘Ose’, co-composed and performed with fellow Parisian producer Hugo LX, to the classic house vibrations of the club oriented ‘L’Orage’, via some pop infused downtempo vibes from the heartfelt ballad ‘Hirondelle’. With these three new compositions, Marina shows her shimmering musical versatility and aims to blow some fresh air into her own sonic galaxy.

The B side houses a series of impressive remixes, kicking off with one of the most legendary artists of this time, Gerd Janson, and his instantly recognizable touch. Gerd delivers an ever so classy version of ‘Ose’ feat Hugo Lx that keeps the sultry sample of Marina’s vox present, while he composes a whole new bassline that leads the groove.

Next comes a remix of ‘L’Orage’ by the very talented Earl Jeffers. His deep-down groove lead style sits at the crossroads of afro and UK house. Adding new pads, synthwork, and solid bass, Earl perfectly reworks the track for the club and introspective moments alike, by submerging the listener into his colourful and vibrant shade of house.

Tatyana Jane's brilliant effort rounds off the EP. An emerging talent from France who makes a mark with her production skill once again through her rerub of ‘Hirondelle’. Bringing a whole new vibe that blends influences of breakbeat to techno to afro-futurism. Marina's vocal is on repeat throughout, bolstered by building drums that carries the dancer away in a sonic whirl.

New year, new you, new crew! Another rising star from France, Marina Trench, joins the WOLF Music family, following up an inaugural EP on DJ Deep's highly acclaimed Deeply Rooted with this accomplished and diverse four tracker of house goodness.
Absorbed by house music from an early age Marina Trench is already proving herself to be a humble, yet highly talented, force to be reckoned with. Waterside EP is case in point. The title track is summertime ecstasy through and through. Undeniably catchy and packed with a club-ready punch, Trench sets off at pace, revolving the track around a pinging techy bassline as layers of percussion, echoing pads and delicate vocal refrains from Marina herself glide on through. Peak time, earworm business that bangs.
Get up, ‘Get In’. Moving through the downright ethereal to some tough, dancefloor darkness. Sweeping pads and glitching arps ease you in before the breakdown leads to an unleashing of brooding bass chords and reverberating top end counterparts that marry with a mean acid bassline. Tough, tactile and firmly focused on the club.
On the flip, ‘Train Call’ is a chopped jazzy deep house roller. Heavyweight piano stabs intertwine with deft twinkles as crisp hats dance around thumping kicks before ‘Straight’ eases you off into the depths of the night. A sumptuous little slice of deepness - meditative, trance-like calls from the ocean and pensive pianos provide a perfect soundtrack for the early hours.

DJ Deep is a master of house and techno that drives you forward but also boasts real character. The Deeply Rooted label boss has been perfecting his style for two decades now, as well as offering more eclectic sounds with his Worldwide FM Radio show and collaborative work with Roman Poncet. Here, though, he has his sights on the dance floor with four more timeless tracks. 'Head Up' kicks things off with a dubbed out track that locks you in a circling groove amongst soft shakers and deft sound designs. It's perfectly stripped back but absorbing house then 'Swinging With The P' ups the ante with a tense minimal house vibe that has edgy effects and a paranoid sense of mood. Always rooted to infectious drums, it's another masterclass from Deep. Things get more wild on 'Porte', a prickly acid track that layers up chattering claps, 303s and urgent drum work into something designed to pump the club at the peak time. Last but not least, 'Corridor Rodeo' is a loopy dub techno epic that manages to hit hard while also offering plenty of subtle details to keep you locked. I really like how J.C naturally blends a House feeling and groove with a Techno vibe. Dj Deep:'I have been very impressed with Bleak's talent and how he can combine different styles of techno and still produce very personal music. Each track, in my opinion, has a life of it's own, it starts in a certain way, and takes you to different places. The arrangements are very subtle, sometimes hypnotic, very intense and emotional, the way the drums evolve and drive the tracks, or how deep chords apear in the back ground taking the track to a differrent territory etc. I hope you'll like this 12'' as much as I do!'
