We're really happy to get Andy on Heist after his successful collab with his buddy Max Graef on the Jungle EP back in 2013. He delivers a great 4-track EP that ranges from the synth-arp love affair of 'The same for me', to the heavily sampled disco jam 'Epsilon girls.' Check out 'Hermano' and 'Merkin' for a dreamy old school Chicago vibe, both done with a great sense of history and an added touch Andy's modern production and sampling skills.

COEO are Toy Tonics' lead artists and they don't joke! Technically perfect on a level that most producers start to get jealous. Musically filled up with so much knowledge about the history of Disco and House that it's no wonder that big names like Kenny Dope, Borrowed Identity and Tensnake are huge fans. And their style...? It's a pure hedonistic discoish attitude that combines the funk driven eclecticism of today, the curiosity of young music cats who always want to be ahead and a sense of QUALITY in music that we miss in so many of today's house music productions. In fact it's 2017 and a lot is changing in the House scene. The "old" melancholic deep house now is quite dead - while most Deep House charts are filled up with sample based Funk House.
COEO are regularly on the top of the several Deep House charts, and there is a reason: Their tracks have that kind of new, nasty, sexualised vibe that gets more inspired from the late 1990ies French touch house or early Masters at Work production. From Jazz DJ's and DJ Sets of wildstyle DJ's like Harvey or the Idjut Boys. It's not any more about the old schematic Ketamine Deep House that always sounds the same (and makes your feet fall asleep.)
Listen to Flesh World! It's black music basically. It's Booty sound. Disco for sure. This track gets you riding on a trip.

Continuing a very special and fruitful relationship, Catz N' Dogz's always captivating Pets Recordings recruits close friend KiNK for his first ever release on the label. It finds the Bulgarian live specialist and techno innovator serving up a fantastic new cut and comes with a remix from raw American talent Truncate. KiNK, of course, is known for his mesmeric and logic defying live shows, his acerbic releases on labels like Macro- who released his excellent recent album, Self Destruction - and Ovum, as well as his passion for weird sounds. KiNK is also the producer behind Rachel Row's brace of hits for Pets and the prominent vocalist once again features here with some stunning work. That continues on his track here, 'Fantasia', which is a brooding and slow burning track with a synth line that goes from rubbery to acidic. Around it, patient percussion, deep, warm kicks and breathy female vocals add a sense of sexual tension then finally, KiNK's trademark and colourful synth freakiness takes over. It's the sort of track that will lock in dancefloors and mesmerise them for the duration. The remix comes from Truncate, who runs his own eponymously entitled label, releases on 50Weapons and produces deep, textured house and techno. His version is more urgent and techno leaning, with paranoid siren like hooks, scurrying basslines and lots of ravey warehouse intent.
This standout release - which comes with 10 vinyl-only locked grooves - once again confirms KiNK to be a truly unique craftsmen.

Klasse Recordings and Grafiti Tapes impresario, Luca Lozano, rolls up to Hypercolour with a 12" par excellence of genre blending, future dance grooves. Leaning on his Sheffield upbringing, it's of no surprise that the break beats, edits and bleeps of his native city seeps into his own forward thinking productions. Having racked up some super releases for Sex Tags UFO, Optimo Trax, Crème Organization, alongside his own imprints, Lozano really impresses on his Hypercolour debut.
'Gun Fingers' is a strictly heads down affair, luscious synths, tantalising breaks and heavyweight b-line sandwich in-between pounding kicks for a classy cut, whilst 'Calling All Dancers' is indeed a call to rave, laced with the familiar components of a golden era of UK dance, that never slips into pastiche, instead sounding fresh, vital and relevant to the times.
Kindred spirit, DJ Sotofett, weighs in with two versions of 'Gun Fingers' exclusively for the vinyl edition of this release. Those who know Sotofett's killer style will know the score here, and he certainly does not disappoint. And those who spent time chasing around motorways and A roads in search of the party will most definitely know what's up on this set of remixes!

ILLEGAL JAZZ is the edit series by Berlin’s DELFONIC & KAPOTE. Focused on reworks of rare soul jazz and jazz funk-disco tunes from the 1970ies. Reworked for todays ecclectic dancefloors. The first volumes of this series have been sold out very fast and repressed up to 3 times. A sign that the demand for jazzy music on international dancefloors is growing. In case you dont know DELFONIC & KAPOTE: KAPOTE is the creative mind behind TOY TONICS & KRYPTOX Records. The 2 Berlin labels dediciated to future disco & house and the new German Jazz scene (Kryptox).
