TRACKLIST:
A1 Juxta Position - Enlightenment
A2 Juxta Position – Bad Folder
B1 Pablo Mateo - Traum 2
B2 Pablo Mateo - Tomo
INFO:
Next up in this ongoing split-ep series are two equally talented producers from different ends of the spectrum, both sharing their unique viewpoints on that special dreamspace of self-awareness and how the way there actually sounds like!
Following his explosive Figure-EP just this recent summer, Juxta Position now reveals his more sublime side on these two technoid journeys. Keeping it raw and beautiful, the analogue lover lets his synths engage in dialogue, floating through murky realms and simply getting lost in the groove.
A new face for Figure and definitely one to watch is Pablo Mateo. Taking a likewise subtle yet distinctly more grounded approach, his tunes unfold slowly and each tell their entirely own storyline. Tomo is an extraordinary specimen of how a track grows past its confines, into something genuinely touching and can eventually open up that space inside and what lies beyond!

Deetron - Cercle
12” with full cover
TRACKLIST:
A1 Radio Slave - Shelter
A2 Radio Slave – Shelter You
B1 Deetron – The Body
B2 Deetron - Cercle
INFO:
The newest joint effort on FIGURE JAMS unites two stalwarts in their own right, both of which have honed their specific sound over decades.
Having the A-Side to himself, Radio Slave goes for the murky and twisted end of the spectrum, forging some seriously hypnotic grooves. What skeletal claps and soaring synths make an exhilarating uphill rush, its psychedelic sibling‘s patterns soon lead into a eyes-down experience, predestined to lose oneself completely to.
Deetron instead builds on a dry drum framework, then cleverly fills in the space with robotic rhythms and lively synthwork for what‘s simply a fun tune to follow. He finishes things off more seriously though, sliding in these heavily submerged chords and going for a vibrantly soaring beatdown track.

TRACKLIST:
A1 Truncate & Chambray – No Stress
A2 Truncate & Chambray – Trax 4 The Club
B1 Biri – Snox101
B2 Biri – Through The Fields
INFO:
Jamming things up once more, we‘re pairing Chambray with long-time Figure-affiliate Truncate for a pair of exciting floor-killers, then go out with some fresh take on techno by Biri.
No Stress is exactly the reminder needed when letting things fling in all directions with this unpredictable, spiralling power work-out. Trax 4 The Club pays hommagge to the its heritage, but shoots way beyond the treaden template. Tongue-in-cheek and swinging widely, this one hits far more carefully than expected, yet all the more satisfying when it does!
On the flip it‘s Biri deploying his rigid style of layering sounds which he makes seem fluid and lively, never changing things up too soon or too late. By such his drive along the meticulously shaped arps on Snox101 stays a constant thriller, while Through The Fields becomes an ambient-leaning excursion through time and space, opening up the body and mind.

INFO:
FIGURE JAMS enters the next round, setting up a pairing between two hardware-loving, no-frills techno-purists. Both artists build on vibrant, machine-made roughness, yet each leaving their uniquely flavored footprint.
Kicking things off is Eindhoven's Albert Van Abbe, whose wide-open soundscapes and searching synths evoke an emotional impact that goes far beyond mere tools, able to equally move and sooth even the fiercest of late-night lovers.
Low-key producer SP-X appears on the flipside, ready to get lost deep within layers of hypnotic loops. Searing percussion, rumbling bass and dubby synths engage in complex conversation, subtly swelling and swaying but always keeping the groove ever so tight.

A1 TWR72 - Polished A2 TWR72 - Lavender B1 Nocow - Collapsar B2 Nocow - Ornament
INFO:
Figure Jams is back with a another fresh and exciting pairing of artists. This time the record is a collection of pure analogue goodness, sparkling ripe with synthesizer magic.
The A-side comes courtesy of duo-of-the-moment TWR72, who happen to distill perfection through simplicity in their stripped-back productions. While ‚Polished' is a pulsating bit of beatless yet captivating clean-cut loops, their other contribution shows their talent at crafting something lean, dry and punchy, which is still undeniably driving and hypnotic.
Picking up on the synth-heavy theme of this release is St. Petersburg's finest Aleksey Niktin aka Nocow. Inspired by the endless baltic winters, the producer packs his tracks with emtions that feel cold but not icy, engulfing the listener in winching waves of melancholic Electronica.

A1 Abstract Division - Crossing Borders A2 Abstract Division - Out Of Alignment B1 Patrik Skoog - Subatomic B2 Patrik Skoog - The Field
INFO:
The second release on Figure Jams continues to pursue our new concept of pairing certain artists together, this time placing the seasoned Swedish sound sculptor Patrik Skoog alongside Abstract Division, a collaborative project of Paul Boex and Dave Miller, two equally experienced Dutch producers.
The latter deliver a pair of straight-forward tunes that seemingly stem from the depths of space. With an intimidating backdrop of menacing and rummaging drones they carefully create a constant sense of alarming tension that is never lifted. This abstract threat takes solid shape in Patrik Skoogs slamming "The Field", a heavy hitter of immense magnitude that despite packing a bouncy punch still stays afloat thanks to its lightly dancing hats. Another agile alien grooves closes the EP, with rides zooming in and out, slingering and cutting through the track's subtly booming body.

TRACKLIST:
A1 Fabrizio Lapiana - Memories A2 Fabrizio Lapiana - Far Away
B1 Amotik - Gora B2 Amotik - Kala
INFO:
Arriving as the first release of the new sublabel series FIGURE JAMS, this split EP by Fabrizio Lapiana and Amotik serves not only as a crafty cut in its own right but also showcases a particular type of package, which Figure will be facilitating from now on.
The A-side is taken up by a pair of Lapiana's irresistably dense grooves that unmistakebly tread in the footsteps of his homeland's highly emotional techno, unafraid of big melodies but also injecting just the right amount of twisted acid to set the floor ablaze.
This sense of grandeur and space is also reflected in the work of fast-rising producer Amotik. Painting with his very own colours as an equally epic scenery, its bleak and post-apocalyptic landscape dominated by broken industrial beats and hypnotically swirling synths.

WRWTFWW Records couldn't be happier to announce the release of Yutaka Hirose’s never-heard before 11-track collection TRACE: Sound Design Works 1986-1989, available on double LP and double CD, with liner notes from the artist.
TRACE is a collection of 11 unreleased tracks produced by Yutaka Hirose between 1986 and 1989, during the Sound Process Design sessions, right after the release of his classic Soundscape series album Nova. Sound Process Design was Satoshi Ashikawa's label, home of the Wave Notation trilogy (Hiroshi Yoshimura’s Music For Nine Postcards, Satsuki Shibano's Erik Satie 1866-1925 and Satoshi Ashikawa's Still Way). Following Wave Notation, Sound Process Design worked with museums, cafes and bars to create site-specific soundscapes, starting with the sound design of the Kushiro Museum. Yutaka Hirose was called to work on these projects.
Rather than simply providing pre-recorded compositions, Hirose sought to create a "sound scenery". To achieve this, he participated in the conception of the space and paid particular attention to the accidental combination of sounds by placing the speakers, using a multi-sound source, and following the concept of "sculpturing time through sound".
The composer explains: "sculpturing time through sound means that time, the space itself, the sound played in it, and the audience all become one sculpture. It is close to the idea of a Japanese tea ceremony where you use all of your 5 (or 6) senses to taste the tea."
TRACE: Sound Design Works 1986-1989 is divided into two parts. The Reflection segment is based on an ambient soundscape. It narrates "a sleep that starts with the sound of water droplets at dawn and slowly disappears into darkness" and feels like a natural and soothing progression of Nova. It was played in entrance halls, at events, in cafes and bars. The Voice from Past Technology segment expresses the dream world born out of that sleep and is based on what Yukata Hirose calls hardcore ambient, environmental music with a noise approach. It was played in museums and science centers.
All in all, TRACE is a crucial addition to every Japanese environmental music fan’s collection, alongside Midori Takada’s Through The Looking Glass, Hiroshi Yoshimura’s Green, Satoshi Ashikawa’s Still Way, Motohiko Hamase’s Notes of Forestry, Inoyamaland’s Danzindan-Pojidon, and Yutaka Hirose’s very own Nova.
Points of interests
- For fans of environmental, minimalism, ambient, furniture music, Satoshi Ashikawa, Midori Takada, Hiroshi Yoshimura, entrance halls, museums, and time sculptures.
- 11 never-heard tracks from Yutaka Hirose (Nova) recorded between 1986 and 1989, available on Double LP and Double CD.

Info
Initially released in 1982 as part of the Wave Notation series*, Still Way is, without a doubt, a seminal Japanese environmental/ambient/minimalism album, often mentioned alongside Midori Takada's Through Looking Glass and Hiroshi Yoshimura's Green as one of the genre's most important pieces.
"Like the moment of stillness, after the wind passes through the garden, when the rain stops for a brief second…" Notably inspired by Erik Satie's Furniture Music and Brian Eno's ambient work, Satoshi Ashikawa aimed to compose music "intended to be listened to in a casual manner, as a musical landscape or a sound object…not something that would stimulate listeners but music that should drift like smoke and become part of the environment."
The result is simply phenomenal, subtle minimalism and emotional elegance exquisitely orchestrated by Satoshi Ishikawa and his team consisting of his wife Masami Ashikawa (on flute), Midori Takada (on vibraphone), Yuko Utsumi (on harp), Tomoko Sono (on piano), and Junko Arase (on vibraphone).
In conjunction with Still Way, WRWTFWW is releasing Laistigh den Ghleo, a companion album by Irish ambient/minimalist composer Gareth Quinn Redmond, inspired by Ashikawa's approach.
*The Wave Notation series also includes Hiroshi Yoshimura's Music For Nine Postcards album.

trentemoller - Moan (Radioslave Remix)
2022 repress
Tracklist:
01 Moan (Trentemoller Remix)
02 Moan (Radioslave Remix)
Only released in October 2006, Anders Trentemøller‘s stunning debut-album „The Last Resort“ already evolved into one of the most successful independent albums of the year. Raving reviews all over the place, various elections as „album of the year“ and solid playlists at the radios express the huge interest in the fantastic album. While 2006 has been topped of with a tour through Australia, the first Trentemøller highlight in 2007 will be the release of „Moan“, the second single from the album. For the a-side Trentemøller himself created a brilliant remix of the „Moan“-Vocal Version, which has been released on the Bonus-CD of the limited edition album only. Trentemøller managed to keep the mystic melancholic vibe of the track featuring the vocals of danish talent Ane Trolle, but adds punshy drums, screaming synths and some more guitars to guarantee serious dancefloor-action. Radioslave aka Matt Edwards aka Rekid aka Quite Village, on of the most in demand remix artists at the moment (Moby, Booka Shade, Justice, Peace Division, Pet Shop Boys, Joakim etc) contributed a great remix on the flipside. Slowly building over reduced drumpatterns their mix culminates into a manic wall of sound. While Poker Flat 81 features the vocal versions of both Trentemøller‘s and Radioslve‘s remixes, the instrumental and dub versions will be released simultaneously

Ryo Fukui - Scenery
The Standard Edition - Territory - NO Sales to Japan
Ryo Fukui's 1976 highly sought-after jazz masterpiece SCENERY-
LP Edition: Mastered at half speed, 140g vinyl, Sticker
We Release Jazz (WRWTFWW Records' new sister-label) is proud to present its first release, the official reissue of Ryo Fukui's highly sought-after masterpiece Scenery (1976), sourced from the original masters and available on limited edition 180g vinyl mastered at half speed for audiophile sound and on digipack CD.
Unquestionably one of the most important Japanese jazz albums ever recorded, Scenery reveals Ryo Fukui as a miraculously brilliant self-taught pianist fusing modal, bop, and cool jazz influences for a very personal, dexterous and game-changing take on classic standards made famous by Bing Crosby and John Coltrane among others. From "It Could Happen To You" and its serene and calm intro which magically flows into a jubilant and upbeat piece, to the out-of-this-world piano solo of "Early Summer", or the incredible teamwork of "Autumn Leaves" where Fukui leads Satoshi Denpo (bass) and Yoshinori Fukui (drums) into groove heaven, every single note on the album oozes precision, confidence and flair and every single section slides seamlessly into one another, creating a supreme and elegant blend of jazz. Often compared to McCoy Tyner or Bill Evans, Ryo Fukui was a genius in his own right, a true master of his craft whose perfectionism gave birth to some of the greatest music ever recorded. Scenery is his magnum opus and an absolute must-have.
The Hokkaido wizard-pianist followed Scenery with the soulful gem Mellow Dream (also available on We Release Jazz) in 1977. He then focused on improving his live skills, often performing at Sapporo's Slowboat Jazz Club (which he co-founded with his wife Yasuko Fukui) and releasing 2 live albums. Ryo Fukui sadly passed away in March 2016, leaving behind a legacy of works that is sure to captivate jazz lovers for generations to come.
