A true modern-day pioneer of house music, Amsterdam-based DJ, producer, and label owner Malin Genie is only getting better as he continues to add to his rich catalogue of releases.

Whether producing darker, more-minimal leaning productions on his Vigenere imprint through to his contributions alongside Lazare Hoche and S.A.M. as 1/3 of Mandar, his wide-reaching sound sees his productions primed in the record bags of the scene’s most renowned names, with his ‘Phaethon EP’ providing a perfect showcase of this talent.

Welcoming a collection of house gems from across the spectrum - from glistening, resonant synth-driven productions to skittering low-end heavy cuts and warping, twisting efforts - this is arguably his most diverse release to date as he marks his return to Up The Stuss in exemplary fashion. More

Dutchman Malin Genie is head of his own self titled label, as well as this one, is co-owner of Oscillat and De Vloer and is also a member of Mandar member with Lazare Hoche and SAM. Despite all those projects he still manages to sound fresh and different each and every time he pops up. This time out he strides forwards on a loopy techno pulse on 'Corpse Grinder' , gets freaky on the dark synths and eerie pads of 'Death Mangler' and flips you the fuck out with the acid frenzy that is 'Weakling Poser'. And that's just the a-side, on the reverse are three more left of centre dance floor weapons that take in both sleazy house and cosmic electro. What an EP. More

This time around the prolific Dutch artist is delving into smoky, hidden corners of house music where dub lingers thick in the air and rough textures scuff depth and character into the synth work. "Aventijn" has a purposeful drum machine tick but its utterly somnambulant in its execution, while "KIAR" lilts on a dusty groove and woozy clouds of funk. "Duppy" has a distinct dub techno influence, but it's still a steadfast house groover at heart, and "Amulius Numitor" ditches the beats for a pure interstellar exploration. With some bonus locked grooves for creative DJs, this is a versatile and imaginatively rendered EP with creative spark to match its usefulness in the mix. More

REPRESS ALERT: Vigenere is creating a mysterious vibe with its obscure collaborative releases, but the music speaks for itself as it plots a course through deeper realms of the dance. After contributing to the first release, Malin Genie is back and seemingly flying solo for a more direct trip into dubby techno territory - that's certainly the vibe on opening immersion heater "Eschaton". "Drain" has a more tripped out minimal flavour with the after hours in mind, while "Venus" swaps moody atmospheres out for a hazy shuffler peppered with slices of warm instrumentation. "Elara" brings things full circle with another crooked dub-out to bring eyelids down heavy in a state of transcendental bliss. More

Following a recent outing under the Mandar alias alongside studio pals Samuel Andre Masden and Charlie Naffah, Nick Putman presents his first solo single under the Malin Genie guise for two years. Predictably, he explores a range of deep house styles over the course of a four-track EP that's both quietly confident and largely impressive. There's a real bump to "Sense of Swing", despite the presnce of warm, fluid keys, while "Propter" successfully joins the dots between loopy tech-house and shimmering deepness. The techno influence is more obvious on the flip, where "Redskap" and "Ulux" both derive potency from the hypnotic nature of Putman's immaculately produced groove.

Malin Génie is back on Tomorrow Is Now, Kid! with this very special four track EP Pushin' On. Limited pressing of 250 copies pitch black vinyl. His first release Malingering EP in October 2011 gave us a taste of what this 25 year old Amsterdam producer confects in his soul kitchen. Now the génie is out of the bottle once again with a brew of beats that is guaranteed to give everyone a euphoric dance floor and party experience!

We produce successful events with different concepts, are the driving force behind the Transistor Rhythm club nights in Club Up and have had label nights in Amsterdam, Berlin and Lisbon.
Tomorrow Is Now, Kid! or TINK! Records as it was originally called in 1989, was one of the first House labels in The Netherlands. Certainly the first to release Soulful House and Garage tracks onto the dance floors. TINK! Records became a household name with releases by artists such as Black Tulip, Eddy de Clercq (EDC), MTC, MDA. feat. Lilian Vieira, R.J.'s Rule, Formosa and Thyone Girls.

For the latest 12" on his self-titled label, Malin Genie teams up with Swedish producer Per Hammar for a sturdy four-tracker that shows off the duo's knack for crafty, rolling house music. "Lijnbaan Dubb" has a full spread of rich synthetics propelling it forward through a subtly dubbed landscape of nocturnal atmospherics, while "Fosie" needles in on crooked sound design for a playful, minimal trip-out. "Scania" has a more rattling, techno-minded framework to carry liquid shimmers of chords, and then Samuel Andre Madson comes on board for a remix that injects a little old-skool Chicago romanticism into "Scania." More

On the third release on his label, Malin Genie teams up with Amsterdam resident and Will & Ink regular Yaleesa Hall for a trip into dubbed out techno and house territory. The EP opens with "Oganesson," an immersive track pivoting around gnarled, shape-shifting dub techno chords. "84" is a more energised cut, using a similar central melodic thread but driving it with a sprightly beat and playful threads of synth expression. "Tournant" places the emphasis on textural sound design, embellishing a rugged techno rhythm with sonic matter that takes on an organic quality as it pulses and writhes around the beat. "Coronal Loop" finishes the EP off with an appropriately star-gazing jam that uses delay and reverb to great effect to create a sense of space in which nimble chord lines and other flourishes can cavort freely.
