A longtime staple of the infamous Hague scene, DJ Overdose returns to L.I.E.S. with what may be his heaviest release to date. Razor sharp top notch production is the name of the game on this four tracker which sees Overdose move from relentless broken beat electro on the a-side to the more wave influenced cuts on the b-side's, Dark Spectre Echo and Strompel. Overdose proves once again he is and always has been one of the major forces in the electro world since the early-90s consistently refining his sound and pushing it to new territories. Essential!

Release Note:
Like meeting an old friend again, Dalmata Daniel welcomes DJ Overdose back to their catalog. Six years ago the infamous Dutchman's '05 Poly 800 Loop' EP was released, which served as a powerful launch to Dalmata Daniel, opening the first chapter in their story. Later in 2019, a split release with Sematic4 was also a highlight in the life of the label; and now, 3 years later, DJ Overdose checks in with the 'Powers of Ten EP' with a J. Mono remix, available both in digital and vinyl format, the latter having 2 bonus tracks.
The distinct, crunchy sound of DJ Overdose, bearing aspects of old school hip-hop-infused sampling and contemporary analog vibes creates the perfect blend of both worlds. 'Garden of Lust' opens up the adventure with a combo of warm basslines and solid drum-programming. This initial track feeds us these cardinal elements as the bread and butter they are: subtle variations and fine spices do appear here and there as the track goes along, but the key, beating pulse in 'Garden of Lust' brings massive hits stable as a sledgehammer in the hands of a blacksmith.
'Feed The Beats' elevates the game to cinematic territories: its majestic string-like central melody makes me alert and ablaze, making me feel like I'm in a late 80s L.A. setting facing malevolent zombie-aliens in my Wayfarer shades. Blasting beats and Carpenterian coolness all over the place, while the spooky bassline just keeps sneaking up on me endlessly.
If you are wondering when's the best time of the year to bring out your boombox at last, then this is your lucky day: with 'BOB', the first bonus track on the vinyl, we can experience some roarin' bassdrums, snappy snares, MCs with the speed of light and all that jazz. The low-bit sampling and vinyl scratching come and kick you right in the face so hard that it becomes pretty obvious you'll can't help but start some serious beatbox battles in your bathtub with your rubber duck.
A feverish groove in the prime time of a funky bash, in the haze of a sensual rave-up: that's all one really wants when going for a Saturday night out. We definitely get this and much more from 'Room 714', another vinyl-only bonus track. A berserk voice and ethereal chords guide us through this mysterious track, but while we are busy trying to impress our crushes on the dance floor, things around us are slowly getting very, very freaky, maybe a bit way too freaky.
As wobbly and jolly as it gets, our Dutch friend ends his session with 'Ðr ¡v€ M€ ¢r@z¥', a vocoder-heavy disco banger, full of merry vocal FX and smart rhythmic glitches as he completes his flight. To close the EP, our local hero, J. Mono delivers an insane remix of 'Ðr ¡v€ M€ ¢r@z¥': one can clearly imagine how he grabs and turns the BPM knob all the way up, fires up some arpeggios on his mighty synths and casts a complete reimagination of the original track. On his first release for Berceuse Heroique, Rotterdam's finest DJ Overdose meets one of the strongest producers of Detroit, Mr. OB Ignitt. Overdose creates the best soundtrack for a "march of the robots" scene with Dead City. The mighty bounce of early Dr. Dre productions meets some nasty electro carnage. On Sorry To Disappoint you can hear the classic West Coast electro sound of some of his older releases mixed with some funky sci fi synth lines. Then, OB Ignitt takes this monster of a tune and creates one of the gnarliest house tunes of this year with a proper G Funk bassline that will properly test your sound system on a good night.

After being returned from his abduction by aliens from the hidden planet Nibiru, DJ Overdose was given an alien synthesizer 'the HAEX-HRLL' as a thank you for all the cerebral research the aliens did on him. On returning back to Earth all DJ Overdose had to do was finish the 6 tracks the aliens had started to work on, which became this EP. Straight forward Techno Hop Electro Funk without any fancy-pants pretentious hooha. It's like a black and white movie which makes you think 'why the hell is there colors anyway?!' After completion, the only record label he could imagine being fit for such rawness would be Viewlexx... and so here it is.

Filled with heavy duty samples heads are sure to know, TC spliced, diced, rearranged and transformed them into something sounding like it came out of Todd Terry or Bones SP-1200 back in the days. Funky, deep, introspective, these 12 tracks are guaranteed to rock the floor wherever you may be. Perfect music for the summer heat, bumping out your car stereo or in the club, these cut will make em' sweat guaranteed! True old school productions for real DJs! Featuring additional production from Risk Management's Benedek and Lipelis on a couple of cuts (check the liner notes).

These tracks call to mind to his early-L.I.E.S. releases, where Moore focused on cold arppegations and basic beat constructions to fuel his epic productions which center around pristine soaring synthscapes. A master of the genre, Moore gives us an equal mix of explosive, creepy home at the end of a dark street floor fodder as well as slower tempo cosmic headcrushers, all capable of getting your head or niteclub in a frenzy. Hot suite of crucial HOUSE. TIP!
NYC's Sweater on Polo delivers a hammering six track mini lp for L.I.E.S. indebted to the sounds of early-90s psychedelic Chicago house, names like Gherkin and Pierre come to mind but the young producer tastefully and effectively puts his own vision to the forefront with this release.
In the confused world of modern dance music production, Sweater on Polo, throws all trends aside and sticking to the bare essentials...letting the 808s,303s,727s do the job and making this one of the most crucial modern House records to come out of New York City in many years. Many producers these days stake a claim to this music and it falls short, plain and simple, Sweater on Polo is the most promising young producer in the city these days and this record puts it on display. "A brittle metronome in a delirious tension landscape, WOMEN'S HOUR are a Glasgow based experimental post-punk duo featuring Contort Yourself head honcho Murray CY and artist Jenny Wicks. Creating noise, harmony and disquiet washed in synth and repetitive guitar, rough beats and distorted vocals, WOMEN'S HOUR are constantly trying to embrace the shouting in their heads."
On this, their debut release, a 12 track lp, a true to form jagged 80s post-punk affair, the two piece bring to life the day to day in the grim North through their music. One can almost feel the chill coming from the brittle window panes of the dank drafty flats, filled with asbestos paint, busted heaters, and no hot water flowing for who knows how long. Desperate, urgent, coming close to falling apart, yet pulling it together to make it through to the next song...this is as "British" as it gets (yes we know Scotland is its own thing guys, don't shoot) The sun hasn't shown its face for many months, wind blows through the deserted streets, change jingles around in your pocket, a hungry dog barks. This is the music of Women's Hour. Limited to 300 copies, one time pressing. Includes insert and art by Jenny Wicks of Women's Hour. More

Lipelis makes a welcome return to L.I.E.S. with his TMO project and lines up a huge release with this four track ep. Massive anthem alerts here as Lipelis teams up with keyboardist Eugene Piankov with epic results. From the absolutely soaring and melodic 303+909 driven opener, to the pensive mid tempo "Bright Jam" Everything comes to a head with the B1. cut that is a huge piano house anthem, this will save the party or bring it to the next level... solos, chord progressions, 303's, phased claps....everything going exactly how it should be...clean as a whistle, rockin the floor like mad. Dissemblance - Bon Voyage
After her debut on Mannequin in 2019, Dissemblance now arrives on L.I.E.S. with her second full length of sombre, cold wave and emotional bedroom pop infused songs. This time around we hear the Parisen artist add a new arsenal of instrumentation to her repertoire, incorporating live drumming and a wide array of synthetic instrumentation on top of her drum computers providing a backdrop to showcase her stark vocal performances throughout the album.
Meticulously constructed, this record displays the full range of Dissemblance's musical dynamics as she pulls the listener into her universe where dreams and reality tread a thin line, one blurring into the next with no beginning nor end. From the plodding opener "Mercure" where tortured voices rise from a bed of pulsing synth tones, to the tribal drumming dreamscape conjuring rhythms of "Centauresse" or heart wrenching album closer "Bon Voyage" with its ghostly 1950s oldies arrangement and pop feel, Dissemblance expertly brings together a diverse group of styles and sounds from different areas of the electronic spectrum making them her own.
An extremely unique and strong display of modern minimal synth pop that pulls equally from the past whilst propelling towards the future. Limited to 300 copies worldwide. More

COMES WITH A HUGE FOLD OUT POSTER, INSERT, AND DL CODE
L.I.E.S. Records founder, Ron Morelli, makes a rare appearance on his own label with his eagerly anticipated double lp, "HEART STOPPER". (LIES-200)
Heart Stopper is undoubtedly the "dance" record that reaches back to the early days of his L.I.E.S. Records label where artists such as Delroy Edwards, Steve Summers, Traxx, and Svengalisghost all came together digging into the primitive, foundational sounds of original Chicago, New York, and Detroit House music putting it through a contemporary lens.
Recorded between 2019-2022, this lp is the culmination of many years of Morelli honing his craft, from digging and studying old records, to focusing and sharpening his production techniques, the L.I.E.S. boss has delivered an album that is a testament of his true love and obsession of the genre, with "Heart Stopper" being the record to cement the now iconic L.I.E.S. legacy even further.
In the often shapeshifting world of modern dance music, "Heart Stopper" is what a House record should be. Full of passion and unfiltered emotion, uplifting at moments, pensive at others; with raw, jakin' drum programming, big basslines, and anthemic synths driving the release throughout.
Over the 11 tracks we hear the depth of the production hitting all ends of the House music spectrum from WBMX style beat tracks (Just Another Old Beat Track, Tricks of the Trade), to seemingly lost Music Box tapes (House Music Revenge), to 89' style 727 anthem (Heart Stopper), or the piano driven, introspective "Time Stands Still". "Heart Stopper" is an all encompassing record in its scope and sure to appeal to true fans (and djs) of the genre.
Here we have Morelli's definitive dance music statement to date in "Heart Stopper." It is the modern interpretation of what came before and what the artist and L.I.E.S. dedicate themselves to- carefully crafted music that firmly places their signature in the present, past and future days of dance music.
Suffice to say, there couldn't be a more vital time than now for raw, heartfelt music such as this to be reintroduced into a confused and fractured dance music scene. More

Turning a new chapter with a new alias, techno stalwart Anthony Parasole delivers his FULL EFX project. The New York City artist known for his work on OsGut Ton, Dekmantel, and his own imprint The Corner, now makes his debut on L.I.E.S. Records.
While the backbone of this project is rooted in the structural ideas of traditional techno, we now hear Parasole expand on his past sound in a refined manner with acute attention to detail throughout these new productions. Most notably is the repeated use of processed "vocals" on the recording which serves a psychedelic element that drives many of the tracks with haunting results. Tempos push and pull from lightspeed 140 bpm club cuts to 89 bpm pseudo-dancehall to the broken beat closer "Scared to Death" with its chopped vocal, sizzling percussions and industrial crunch, all tracks taking their own persona. With FULL EFX, Parasole expertly puts forth an lp that brings together and transforms the many sounds of modern electronic music in a unique and laser focused fashion with his new vision. More

Absolutely KILLER Full length double lp from drummer, Takafumi Okada of GOAT, straight from the depths of Japan delivering nine tracks of mutant technoid nowave teeth grinding body music. Fast paced, tense and focused motoric metallic drumming fueled by manic vocals which treads the line between the sonic equivalent of futuristic sci-fi nightmares or the remains of post apocalyptic metropolis' in flux. Full on intensity a bad trip in a seedy rock club, spiked drink stumbling, face hits ground glued to muck ridden floor boards, spinning out of control... eyes to the ceiling.. lights flashing as the music pounds you into an oblivion. This is "BODY OF VOID"!

After two 12 inches, the legendary Mick Harris (Scorn, Napalm Death,Lull) steps up with his first full length double lp for L.I.E.S. under his FRET moniker.
Over 10 tracks, "Only For The Weak" displays Harris in his most intense sonic form to date, blasting through the red with reckless abandon and destroying all weakeners and sound systems in his path. This is the definition of black hole industrial techno and while it's completely pulverizing, Harris' heavy trademark dubstyle elements are strongly present, coupled with deeply psychedelic textures swirling within the deadly onslaught of this album. While others have softened up through the years, Mick has upped the ante, staying true to the unrelenting intensity he pioneered behind the drum kit back in the 80s. Turn on the TV, witness the demise of humanity, put this album on and watch it all fall to pieces minute by minute. Never more could music of this magnitude be more relevant. Not recommended for those with medical conditions! More

Prolific and often nomadic label boss, producer, and studio engineer, Tony Price (Maximum Exposure) has been making a name for himself over these last years, as he's lurked in the shadows while moving from city to city around the world, leaving a unique and wide-spanning musical mark in his wake.
On his 13 track IBM-CONTRA LP, Price conjures up a wild melange of free jazz and high speed electro funk next that sits next to dusty ambient, street tough house, and even Bill Conti-esque dark alley rainy street jams featuring saxophone work from Alex Zhang Hungtai and Colin Fisher.
The album is unmistakably Tony at his best, as he weaves in and out of these genres making them make sense next to each other. Whether it's providing a shady saxophone driven backdrop for the next inevitable worldwide bio-warfare crisis or tapping into the roots of stripped down classic electro and house for the floor, this is the artist at peak creativity flexing his skills.
