To celebrate Hugo LX’s return to Japan after three years, Japan-based house music label Eureka! and Hugo's own Doma Music have joined force to release a limited 7inch record, that will be sold exclusively at each of the 6 stops of his tour, starting this Wednesday.
The record contains two previously unreleased compositions from the Platinum Wave sessions ; unlimited express, a future-boogie tunes, and the purple number, a deep broken house cut. Both of these songs reflect Hugo’s musical experiences during his first tenure there more than a decade ago, as well as his current musical endeavors. More

It’s a new day – and 2022 marks a very special new chapter for Parisian producer Hugo LX, who delivers his latest sound offering on his freshly founded imprint Doma Music.
A collective adventure, « The Platinum Wave » sees the return of Hugo’s most frequent collaborators – trumpeter Hermon Mehari and guitarist Christopher Johnson, with the addition of pianist Tony Tixier – the four of them connecting, building and weaving their sonic textures over these five sound cuts.
A starting point in the Doma music catalogue, « The Platinum Wave » aims to propose a different sound in dance music, both a continuation of a certain musical legacy and an exploration of today’s boundless possibilities, as much as an intimate soundscape from four artists deeply involved in the Paris creative scene – and most definitely, a first taste of things to come on the label. Following up the last People of Earth release from Stefan Ringer was a tall order, but we decided to call on French producer Hugo LX to take on the task. Presenting “The Free Form” EP. Spacey and deep, just the way we like it. Thick, bouncy bass lines lead the way on each track. Add live trumpet, keys, percussionists and you have one incredible record. More

Mona Musique is the imprint from Nick V, curator and resident DJ behind longstanding night Mona. First and foremost the vinyl-only label is an embodiment of the Parisian parties that have been bringing together Voguers, Waackers and club dancers for more than a decade.
Calling once again on the production skills of Hugo LX - who featured on Mona Musique’s debut release – “NY Collage” reminds us why he is a firm favourite with label boss Nick V. A standout soulful bassline and trademark Hugo LX drum beat, makes this a sophisticated choice to lift up the dancefloor.
Over on the B side is a remix from man of the moment Kaytronik. The DJ/producer veteran, also known as Karizma, has reworked the track to almost beyond recognition. Deep and dreamy, a new bassline gives it that raw kick, evocative of London in the later hours of the night.
Closing off the EP is a remix of ‘Drifting Away’, Hugo LX’s aforementioned Mona Musique debut. Crafted by Ambrose, the production head behind releases on late 90s House labels Kif SA and Basenotic, he is also the imprint’s studio engineer. A fan of the Kenlou/MAW era, Ambrose’s rework remains true to the deepness of the original cut, but mixes things up with a tougher, harder-hitting edge and wonky keys. More

After a string of releases in 2016, french journeyman and beat craftsman Hugo LX returns on Balance Recordings with his first House long player. Supposedly designed as a more traditional 3-tracks offering, the project progressively turned into a two parts album, reflecting on past, present and future events through organic electronic music, with the loss of a dear friend and men­tor as the turning point. Instead of a contemplative tribute piece, this effort focuses on storytelling, narrating crucial life moments through various song and interlude formats, colours and musical styles, producing a vaporous yet funky, jazzy and hiphop infused house music, flirting with soulful atmospheres and ambiant elec­tronic textures.

After having brought you the critically acclaimed Japanese house compilation "Once upon a time in Japan...", Jazzy Couscous introduces one of the most promising artist of the French deep house scene, Hugo LX.Having worked on a strings of releases in early 2016, French producer Hugo LX (Courtesy of Balance, My Love is underground, Faces) comes back with another four track offering, with help from fellow French man, Korea-based Fulbert, on the remix duties. Expect some sample-built, bass heavy, deep fried pieces from the nomadic beatsmith, merging influences from Japanese dreamy ambiant, French vaporous soundtracks and American deep dance music. Finally a fresh MCDE is announced! New one from long time deep house/broken producer, Pablo Valentino...Its been four years since label co-founder Pablo Valentino became a daddy, and almost as old is the idea of him releasing a record on our imprint. So what makes more sense than to dedicate this record to Hugo-João, his son? On "My Son's Smile" we can hear a recording of Hugo-João's laughter over a mellow, summery house track that has been a big favorite of Danilo over the years. With a little help from Lyon producer Patchworks, who played bass on the track, Valentino pulls off one of his most sophisticated productions yet. More
