Archie Hamilton’s Moscow Records invites Mennie for his first solo release of 2019, featuring two spacey cuts in the form of ‘Proxima’. Joining Moscow Records following releases on Poker Flat, Infuse and Rawax, Mennie is a regular DJ at Florence’s Tenax Club when not performing across Europe including appearances in the UK, France, Germany and Spain. Alongside Julien Sandre, the Italian producer is also one half of Jarau and together they’ve released on labels like One Records, Visionquest and Pleasure Zone. Kicking things off, ‘Proxima’ injects acid squelches into an atmospheric background which builds to include a wonky bassline laced with echoing distorted vocals. Romanian duo SIT culminate matters with their ‘Lip Service’ rework. Following the hypnotic ‘What’s In Your Head’ EP in 2016, Archie Hamilton returns to Moscow Records with his first solo EP on the imprint since the release last year.
Since finishing 2016 with a place in RA's top 100 DJs poll, he’s been touring the world, had a summer residency at Amnesia and released another massive EP on FUSE. An integral part of the stellar ascent of the brand, and founder at tastemaker label initiatives Moscow Records, Moss Co. and Arkityp,he is an artist very much in control of his rise. The record opens with Confusion; an out and out anthem which has been tearing up dance floors across the globe all summer. A trademark bassline drives the track forward as stabs build, tight percussion cuts through and a repeating vocal enters. Then when the track drops it shifts the mood completely, causing any dance floor to bump uncontrollably. Dos Equis is something different altogether. Minimalistic percussion and a tight sub lay the foundations for a funky bass guitar line. Warming pads meet Rhodes keys and out of nowhere a beautifully subtle vocal line appears. As the track breaks down, a mind bending synth line takes the listener out of their state of reflection. The title track on the flip is a classic piece of groovy Hamilton weaponry. A positive mood that bounces along to a whispering voice in the background. The track develops as lush chords permeate the groove, soaking the dance floor in the last of the summer sun to create a euphoric crescendo. More

Two original tracks, remixed by the legendary 100hz. The record opens with the wonderfully trippy Systim. A driving bassline, barely recognisable vocal snippets and groovy organic percussive elements dance around a haunting piano riff that ebbs and flows throughout the track. Tension builds until a second acid bassline is finally revealed, causing dance floor madness. Next up Herbavibe combines a big bassline, dreamy chords, Hamilton’s trademark 303 and a catchy vocal hook to create a certified summer anthem.
100hz uses the entire b side to interpret System into a more classical workout, using the piano elements to their full potential and using minimalistic percussion to keep the listener enthralled. An after party gem that completes the package perfectly More

When titans collide! Moscow and FUSE bosses Archie Hamilton and Enzo Siragusa clash heads on MOSCOW020 bringing both of their influences to bear.?
Ricochet is an unashamed terrace bomb which has been tried and tested by the boys all winter. Nothing complicated here, just big beats and tension-filled break that satisfies the dance-floor with the introduction of a familiar sounding old school hip-hop style lead. Dubby chords then switch the track up for a few bars before going back to business. The flip opens with Transcend, an understated acid track perfect to keep things lively mid- set. The lead weaves it’s way through the track whilst playing with a barely audible vocal and plenty of groovy percussion.? The record closes with Dubinnovation - something quite different from either of the producers’ usual styles. As the title suggests, the track takes influence from dub, using the sampled voice of Lee Scratch Perry. Rolling beats, rasping bass and mind warping effects make this the ultimate after party weapon. More
