With over 25 years in the game, André Galluzzi can respectfully be awarded the veteran badge of honour. A mark of experience and longevity for an artist who has, as they say, been there and done it all. Today howeversees the German take on a new adventure, with his debut release for Josh Winks Ovum Recordings. As a DJ, André has held residencies at three of Germany and the worlds most influential Clubs - Tresor, Ostgutand Berghain. Been the driving force behind his own We Play Vinyl party. Managed his own Taksi (along side Paul Brtschitsch) and Aras Record labels and featured his own music on such highly acclaimed imprints as Cocoon, Cadenza, Ostgut Ton and Highgrade. Back in 2001, having released his seminal mix compilation, 'Im Garten', André embarked on a new series of events that regularly saw him play intoxicating sets of up to 10-hours. The parties went by the name of Submerge and those infamous Dj sets have inspired his beautiful brace for Ovum today. The metronomic kick drum of the title track introduces us to its immersive groove, whilst bubbling and elasticated fx vie for our attention, adding a sublime swing to Submerge. On the flip, Bold, by name and nature, ups the swing ante with its fierce acidic melody, shimmering hats and rasping snare.

Titled "Alcatraz", André Galluzzi releases a pulsating symbiosis of intense snapshots from excessive clubnights and deeply pervasive soundscapes. On powerful wings and with full range, "Alcatraz" glides through the various spheres of this planet called Techno. With each beat, every snare and bassline, André Galluzzi is fascinating mind, body and soul.
Similar to his live-sets the debut album has a captivating conceptual build, gaining speed and intensity steadily, and turning the world upside down for a moment. "Alcatraz" delivers a colourful and multifaceted blend of driving grooves and hypnotic beat-combinations, where Galluzzi drapes his listeners in distinctive analog warmth.
Inspired by occult sounds and psychedelic vocals, the album floats easily through the Technocosmos, overleaping stylistic boundaries and returning just as swiftly to its starting point. The always foregrounded percussive puls of "Alcatraz" seems created equivalent to Galluzzi's own heart rate and gives the whole disc congenial and tangible authenticity.
Tracks like "Mathilda" or "Alcatraz" are raising the endorphin levels just by their sheer love for detail and the enchanting arrangements. And with "Bombetta" you have a stunningly massive heavyweight of a tune coming through the speakers. Full bass and a conquering build are shaking up the synapses.
André Galluzzi shapes gently blending synth-landscapes. Tracks like "Hand Has Been On It" and "Ferry You" create mystic oases, that provide time and space to exhale and slow down. Without any doubt, Galluzzi is letting you feel the full range of his love for music, far away from any conventions.
Every single track on "Alcatraz" receives it's due timeframe, and therefore deep basslines can root in a seemingly timeless Ambient-scenery. Multidimensional FX-sounds and filters merge, in order to accompany the listener on this extravagant journey, and reappear in the branches of the sustaining grooves and the lively percussions. MAHER DANIEL & Matthew Dekay from Canada are well known by releases on SOUVENIR and REJECTED as well as INNERVISIONS, CÉCILLE and ALL I DREAM. They did the first track, TAUBEN, released at MARCUCA Rec. This track stands for amazing rolling bassline and beautiful floating parts combined with gentle vocal elements. By a kind of break the track exposes his open air telent with a charming hookline before it develop all it´s powerfull magic.
Further, we are happy with MARC MIROIR and his track UNDER CONTROL. As the head of PASO MUSIC and by several cooperations like INZ and TRAPEZ Ltd., MARC did many more releases and his album debut (HITTING HOME) as well. UNDER CONTROL result from a common production of MARC MIRROR and ASEM SHAMA. It has an excelent massiv groove with some nice dark vocals and a very strong, hypnotic atmospher.

After the successfully ARAS Startup from the label owners ANDRE GALLUZZI and DANA RUH We are now presenting a hot follow-up from our friend, well known hessian JOHANNES HEIL. The A Side CONSCIOUSNESS is a massive 12 minute dancefloor killer starting with a nice Synth Loop and some heavy Kicks. After nearly a half the track turns from a warm hypnotic break into a real peaktime monster. B Side track PURE starts a little bit deeper with sounds that let us yearn for the sun. There's a certain dynamic that emerges whenever Andre Galluzzi and Dana Ruh pair up to create a record. With last year's "Freya / Mauersegler" split EP on Ostgut Ton, the two have already hit up some of the most prestigious labels in the electronic music landscape. Tracks that are upbeat, driving, and, most of all, fresh have characterized their co-productions, which now have ARAS as a home.
Taking its cues from their label nights at Berlin's Panorama Bar, Galluzzi and Ruh have solidified ARAS into an imprint based around expanding upon the creative energy that both share. Their first release, "Trambolla", harmonizes each artist's approach into a grooving whirlwind that showcases their ability as producers as well as live musicians.Starting off with the title track "Trambolla", the EP begins with tribal beats and infectious arrangements that seamlessly build upon each other along the course of the A-side. Grooving from the start, it's the kind of track where the listener or the DJ gets into the vibe right away. The percussion of "Trambolla" especially stands out amongst the Latin-tinged bongos, hi-hats, and hand claps that interchangeably come in and out of the track, a journey of its own at 9 minutes.
"Thelema", the B-side, contrasts with the lightness of the A-side and demonstrates Galluzzi and Ruh's equal comfort in creating darker and heavily pounding tracks. The ten minute track grows out of a simple beat and growls ever louder as it takes in more intensity with its cascade of filters, delays, and booming bass. Aside from the hard edge of "Thelema", it also provides a preview into the live set that the two artists are about to debut together.
