A perfect blended mixture of real instrument playing and sampling, Uffe concocts a delicious menu across the entire EP. Clearly a product of many influences, Uffe demonstrates his full range of artistry with vocalized tracks on the A side by himself and dub analog studio pressure on the B side. As Long As It lasts' and 'When There Is No Sun' both show Uffe as the Lothario crooner that one ...

uffe - No Title
Limited to 300 Copies! Following his recent releases on Tartelet Records and OYE, Uffe kicks off the Nos Classics label with a record consisting of three mutated disco tracks that marks the start of his own new Copenhagen-based label. Run together with fellow Tartelet affiliates VKTR and Jeppe Wolmer (of Vivian International) The first records A-side is a dubbed out percussive testament to the darkest and saddest times of Uffe's life. A2 is a melodic and dreamy homage to one certain apartement located on the Lijnbaangracht in the Jordaan area in Amsterdam. On the top floor of this worn down old house there was light to be found in these dark times. On the flip-side tings gets trippy. The title track finds Uffe deeply intertwined in an occult-like bass-heavy ritual. An attempt to escape reality and cure the scandinavian misanthropy and the grey weather it comes with. A twelve minute voodoo disco tool perfectly crafted for a dancefloor which most probably does not exist.

a1 - All I did a2 - Pretending a3 - Valentines Card b1 - Uffe - Pretending (Acid Pauli & Nu Remix) b2 - Uffe - All I Did (Jon Convex Remix)
Last's years debut for Pets Recordings saw Uffe impress with the luxuriantly textured and deep 'Colors Inside'. Amsterdam based Uffe's next offering for Catz 'N Dogz's label goes even further to indulge their penchant for downtempo and complex house hybrids. After recent releases on Crosstown Rebels and Tartelet, 'Times All' for Pets sees Uffe proudly voice an 'if you don't know, get to know' statement on behalf of his unique and experimental compositions. ??Opening track 'All I Did' instantly swells with Uffe's measured yet intriguing vocal, loaded with effects. His voice assumes the same status as the rest of his electronic repertoire as synth chords, strings and original vox echo, twang and expand with warmth, before a classic 4x4 kick becomes the beating heart of the track. Jon Convex takes charge of the 'All I Did' remix on the B-side, allowing the beat to thump harder as uncomfortable buzzes and static flit around Uffe's looped vocal making for perfect techy dance floor fodder. ??'Pretending' draws listeners in with an atmospheric, clunky percussion line before Uffe's skillful vocal twisting sees his unique instrument take on melody, harmony, lyrics and chords, while warped bleeps and murky underwater keys complete the strange yet secure environment. Acid Pauli takes 'Pretending' to more playful territories on the remix as the beat and bass line bump with a little more bounce, without losing sight of the absolute warmth Uffe instills in his cross-instrument blends. By contrast, 'Valentine's Card' sighs with a certain solemnity as Uffe's whispered lyrics yearn over funky string plucks and a gentle maraca shuffle. ??Times All shows Uffe taking full advantage of Pets' anything goes aesthetic, and the results are arguably his best yet. ??Enjoy!

I've always tried to make music for clubs and outward facing experiences, but often in spite of my best efforts I end up supplying a sound that translates best on a private level. The communal listening experience is great, but not my favorite, never been. I have been escaping into albums on a solo mission for as long as I can remember. As a result I've developed a familiar closeness with dealing with myself and the emotions I navigate on a daily basis. Heaven is for Quitters is at it's heart about dealing with yourself, both the good and the bad. I want to share this album with the hope that it can be used as I have; a guide, a blanket, a reassurance that the path I have chosen is the right one. It is my job to share my experience and there is a lot of work to be done here on Earth, the thought of going to Heaven too early is paralyzing. I venture to think you'll agree. When I started Blueberry Records I didn't fully know what I was creating. It is fitting then that I release Heaven is for Quitters on my label, as it has become abundantly clear how much I love this label and what it is and can be, my future but ultimately continue to be a platform for others as well. When artists hand me their demos I see what Blueberry can be, this megaphone for peoples inner existence and a clear channel for their articulation. You know that feeling when you are so close to something you can't see the bigger picture, but when you step back you see what you have made and it is a mirror image of yourself? That. This album is for those who've chosen their own path and all of its uncertainty and end up finding themselves along the way. How the roller coaster of life sounds. It is about Blueberry Records as much as it is about my daily life. I am thankful everyday for opportunity, both granted and created. Follow your own inner light. And please, please listen loudly. * I make music to the specifications of my studio. It honestly all sounds best right here. And even better at one spot at the mixing desk in particular. You should come over and hear it.

Absolute tip of the cap to Tom & Jerry the originators of the cartoon 12"s. Putting sex beck into techno - no more of this rigid cold lifeless nonsense. We want the focus on the dancers, and aren't afraid to be a little slutty ourselves.
