The fifth release in this tribute series to the techno legend Christian Morgenstern is here. Side A kicks off with a trippy version of Morgenstern’s “Spiegelkerker”, by Konsequent label chief Maral Salmassi - a carefully set psychedelic trap, building up gently just to drag you through its tunnelling groove, inside the eye of the hurricane. TWR72’s remix of “Ex Machina” on B1, merges the interlocking samples of the original in a vortex, spiral around the pounding kick, rolling right into the heart of the Milky Way.The final track, a remastered version of Morgenstern’s “Girls Got Rhythm” sets the pace, with a dense groove and pounding beats, accenting a colourful cluster of house elements, with streams of sparkling metallic percussion.

The third release in this series opens up with Fanon Flower’s remix of “Be Good To Me” on the A-side, and has everything we love about Fanon’s signature sound - an industrial rave-stomper that provides a heavy 909 beat topped with mercilessly propelling Chicago-style claps. The B-side kicks off with Henning Baer’s remix of “Visco Space Saves The World” - a super trippy and minimal interpretation of the much more heavy original, which was a raw and gloomy industrial monster with a bold noize overload. Its progression changes build up neatly but peak in an epic spiral break down that shatters the soul. B2 is a remastered version of “Herz aus Stahl” by the mastermind Christian Morgenstern himself, presenting an upfront, sinister Electrofunk monster that attacks with waves of synth menace straight from its metallic robocop-heart.

The second release in this series starts with the heavily supressed and hypnotic energy of Efdemin’s Spiegelkerker remix on side A. Creating a dreamlike atmosphere, the track is carried by a slowly developing beat that keeps you totally engaged as it floats along. As a contrast, Psyk’s remix of Miscellanous Pt.7 on B1, with its classic 909 drum appeal and engrossed pad harmonies, creates a very deep classical vibe worthy of a Black Dog reference. The final track, a remastered version of Morgenstern’s Return Of The Living Deaf presents its pleasantly over-funked snare programming and build-ups that forge “true techno” eclecticism and dance floor functionality into one mighty laser sword of a track. Side A kicks off with Distant Echoe’s subtle and dark vision of Miscellaneous 10, followed by B1 with Mistake Made’s remix of Steigrider. The former gives us a more minimalistic version of Morgenstern’s original track that lulls and hypnotizes, while the latter takes us on a ride with saturated, pounding kick drums that pummel through an enchanted forest but wraps up melodiously in a signature Morgenstern way. The final track gives us the re-mastered original version of All Night Dancing, which even after 15 years is utterly timeless - sending shivers through the spines of even the most cynical techno lovers. It is the very essence of Morgenstern, showcasing his melodic strength, style-conscious mixing techniques, and epic background atmosphere that will command both underground bunkers and booming main floors alike.
