Gourmets of old school house music become excited when they listen to „Love´s got me high“. The song, released in 1994, became a milestone in terms of soulful house, in the same way like Adeva´s „Respect“ and Urban Soul´s „Alright“.
Marc Romboy has re-explored this pearl for his series „Lost Treasures“ and was able to convince Terrence to release it again, for the young generation and fort he old school lovers.
The package comes along with a respectful interpretation of no one else than house master Jimpster (Freerange) and Marc´s remix.

Handpicked by Terrence Parker himself, both remixers offer fresh takes on two of the standout tracks of the original LP.
For the first and last track of the EP Michele Chiavarini reworks 'Just Like Muzik', with a bass lick which dances in and out of shuffling hats, channelling the high energy of the original house patterns and stabs into something different. Soulful pad progressions merge with Merachka's original vocal, before energetic strings and vibraphone solo take over, carrying the listener along.
DJ Steve Crawford's remix of 'The Sabath' sees him transpose the arpeggiated synth rhythm and pads of the original into a fresh grooving 4/4 affair. Congas and punching kicks meet with harmonious string melody and slapped bass, creating a head-nodding reimagining of the master.

This special release is dedicated to Detroit DJ Legend Ken Collier. His untimely passing deeply touched me personally, as he was one of a small few who always supported me & my music. Because of Ken Collier, Detroit developed a dance scene, which inspired artist & producers to make dance records, which gave birth to Techno, which has provided careers for many of you in the business today. So I dare ask all you techno producers, djs, record labels, record shops, techno magazines, clubs which play techno music, and fans of techno to pay respect to Ken Collier just as you would our other fine music innovators.

However, this special compilation isn't about techno, it's about H.O.U.S.E. sounds - broadcasting it to you live from the inside in lovely Ste - re - o!!. This record contains no artist or track listing because i don't want this to be about who made the tracks, track titles, or even who wrote this commentary. This record is my personal tribute to him and how he has motivated me to make my contributions to house music. Thank you Ken Collier, for helping me grow not just as a dj or record producer, but as a person. Proper strapping accelerators rooted somewhere between third portal freak-out and girder-strength tech house flex. All four built like a brick shithouse, but the foundations have given out and we’re falling down a wormhole. Transcending epochs and realities with one foot in the free party and another in the big room.
Organ synth, searing 303 and lysergic flourish in abundance. Synths darting, drums impeccable.
Trippier than we’ve come to expect from the Talman Records founder, but no diminishing returns on dancefloor potency.
