The album title, as you might know, means “through hardships to the stars”, and that is precisely Wareika’s motto. You could say, that the trio from Hamburg is the hardest working bunch in the music business. Only last year, they released two albums straight: “Formation” on the Danish boutique label Tartelet Records, and “Harmony Park” on worldwide respected Perlon Records. The enormous output by the trio is reminiscent of jazz musicians of the 60ties.
Wareika have released several singles and have done some astonishing remix work within the past three years. Therefore, their collection of ten remixes, or better, reworked and interpreted songs, will give you a fine impression of how Wareika have elaborated their unique sound over the past four years.
To involve Alex Flitsch of Connaisseur Recordings was self-evident for the band. They started out on his label, made several remixes for it, and contributed tracks to the Grand Cru compilation. This also made it a matter of course to feature the exclusive remix of Connaisseur-act Kollektiv Turmstrasse’s “Tristesse” on this album. In order to give it even more of a proper album feel, Wareika have delivered an intro and outro, making this collection sound more balanced and harmonious.

It has been three years since Steam Circuit (2008) first glimpsed the light of day and gave us hits like "Edding 850" which shot to the top of the Beatport charts. The two Berliners have been very busy and have founded their own label Formatik Records about two years ago amongst many other things. They have already released hits like Gospel and various tracks by new and promising artists and also famed producer Sébastien Léger, who is now a close friend of the house. Their success sent them out on a major world tour : Australia, Asia and into virtually every corner of Europe. They also tapped into the South American market in a big way. They also regularily host a Formatik Label Night in the world renowned Berlin Club Watergate.
On their last album Franz and Jakob were to be found covered in soot and coal, firing up the engines of the dance locomotive, now they've gone greener and swapped over to wind power and are fishing the "Restless" oceans of the world. Tirelessly the two sailors work on the deck disregarding the cold and the weather ,pulling in the nets filled with floundering hits. This time they've spiced up the bait with the amazing voice of Fran on "Liquid" who turns into a working class siren and manages to rock the boat properly with track 2. Keeping with the maritime theme the boys have used a harmonica on "Socks and Sandals" and a piano on "Piano Man". Classic Format B can be found on "Atomizer" and "Oversexed" ...kicking man high bass beats to thrill the four quarter beat fans, and "Biker Meth" is going to keep you dancing till noon (at least).
Even with the pressures of jet setting, label management, party organisation, building a studio, and the romantic needs of their girlfriends they have still managed to finish their first Formatik album to their complete satisfaction and are extremely proud to present the first artist album on Formatik Records.

Raise the curtain once more on a very special orchestral performance. How could Highgrade Records better celebrate it’s 100th release than with twelve tracks from the Highgrade Disharmonic Orchestra? The creative combo featuring both label bosses Tom Clark and Todd Bodine, alongside Philip Bader, Daniel Dreier and Dale, began over a year ago with the intention of celebrating the tenth birthday of the Berlin label. And the resulting gift: A musical experiment. The five artists have bundled their creativity together into a symphony unparalleled in the techno scene. Every performance is like a jam session: All five laptops are interconnected, so each of the artists has the opportunity to react to the others and modify each track as desired. Thus, new arrangements are created and constantly re-interpreted. Drum machines and synthesizers are also in play,
to further stretch the improvisational possibilities. No wonder then, that the 100th release follows in this creative vein. The Highgrade Disharmonic Orchestra, with ’Multilayer’, kiddnaps us away into vastly different musical worlds: from deep influences and custom recorded vocals to an array of technoid sounds and effects. Then back to groovy, swinging beats reminiscent of a balmy summer evening on the beach. Therefore the record is something of a rollercoaster ride, where we never know what might be waiting behind the next curve. Typically Highgrade.

Raz Ohara brings his unique style to Kindisch, in the form of the 'See It Coming' EP. Raz holds true to his style of layering ghostly vocals with haunting melodies coupled with ambient percussive elements. We begin the EP with its title track 'See It Coming', a colorful blend of melancholic tones on a chilled canvas of percussion. As a perpetual melody drives, delicately laid vocals narrate the journey to the subconscious. Next up we get 'Deeper', as Raz brings out the bass on this one. Dissonance and vocal chops harmonize over a heavy kick. The deepest levels of our mind are explored and exploited with mechanical precision. Echo, reverb, claps and full chords all play their part in making 'Deeper' sound exactly the way you would hope for. Raz's partner in crime and Journey To The Feathered Sun counterpart NU gives us his thoughts and perspective in his remix of 'See It Coming' on the B side. With organic percussion and rhythmic intuition, NU provides us with a dancier version of 'See It Coming'. Heavy chords bring out the late night vibe, as Raz's voice retains the ambience of the original. 'All's Been Said (Tool Mix)' is what we're left with. A tense mix of pressure and eerie vocals. A rolling kick and fuzzy synths take the level of intensity higher, as the vocals rise again, hi hats keep us on our feet as Raz takes us to the edge of our minds.

Label co-owner DeWalta returns back to Meander after his latest releases on Vakant and Cynosure - These three personal tracks, were carefully mastered and cut by Stefan Betke aka Pole at Scape Mastering. The first track „Keep On“ comes with characteristic vocals by jazz-singer Judith Ahrends. Just keep on moving! Then the extended Keep On dub mix concentrates on pure grooves and will work its magic on a good soundsystem. „Sauvignon“ on the flipside wanders to higher emotional states, comes with a warm and tricky house rhythm, that makes you swing and shake. Pure atmosphere and presence. Everything was written, played and produced by DeWalta in his studio in Berlin. This production emphasizes DeWalta s own musical signature as it gives you more depth and sound design than just another simple, dancefloor track. These tracks have already been played in the clubs for a while with excitement from big names in the scene. Now it all comes on vinyl with beautiful sleeve artwork. Enjoy! 2011 has seen a string of stellar releases from the dynamic force giving house music a new accessible heartbeat, Mario & Vidis. Now, ahead of their album set for release in January, the ‘Changed Sampler’ lands featuring a dub version of Future Classic anthem ‘Changed’ and three additional choice cuts. An apt advocate to the new age slow house sound they are making their own, Mario & Vidis will fully unveil their masterful debut album ‘Changed’ this coming winter but here lies a taste of both proceeding discs. A prelude to the wide musical terrain these Lithuanian scene pioneers are striding through, the album sampler captures a glimpse of the epic soundscapes, hypnotic pop melodies and ghostly soul that ultimately leads into raw house on disc two. The record for which Mario & Vidis made their name, ‘Changed’, was co-written by Ernesto after the duo admired his earlier inspiring releases. Here you can experience the track stripped of vocals and get to the bare bones and bleeps of its dreamy electronic pop trajectory, while final sampler track ‘When Nobody Listens’ explores a deep jazz sensibility akin to a spaced-out Fat Freddy’s Drop ensemble, uplifting and reflective all at once. Lithuanian homegrown talent features heavily on the album and one of the contributing vocalists, Giedre, is introduced on ‘Suspend The Feeling’ and ‘Slow’. An Illustration of the diverse spectrum of electronic voices emerging out of Eastern Europe, Giedre first lends her luxe Roisin Murphy-esque vocals to the atmospheric chimes and swirling electronic melody of ‘Suspend The Feeling’. In the mischievously sexy ‘Slow’, heavy beats and spooky vibrations prevail beside her feisty tones. The unique partnership between Mario (Marijus "Mario" Adomaitis) & Vidmantas "Vidis" Cepkauskas formed in 2007 in their Lithuanian base, where they remain. Vidis is a master of reinvention with a flair for creating depth and finesse. His Silence project embodies a local radio show, an international label and booking agency that supports much local talent, as well as internationally renowned events of various scales. Marijus Adomaitis AKA Mario or Mario Basanov has been carving his name into the underground circuit gracefully through stunning releases on key disco imprints, Needwant,cUnder The Shade and Future Classic. Whispers of his scope and versatility as a secret studio weapon are gaining pace but not until his partnership with Vidis has his musical direction been so on point and multifaceted.

Sundance is back with the new release. We had our first release in 2009 by Fumiyandric (SND001) and the second release in 2010 by Fumiya Tanaka (SND002). In 2011, here we bring the new release by a new project called "tofu productions". This project is operated by Thomas Melchior and Fumiya Tanaka
A1 "trabalhador" is a loopy drum percussive track with voice samples combined with a fat bass to establish a strong atmosphere. And the sub bass is working as a trippy acid sound which can be heard in the middle part of the track… Freak out!
A2 "e quake" has got a sweet melodic guitar sound with a drunken voice. And with its deep bass, this track forms an acoustic folk music. The harmony of the sound has got a touch of sweet melancholy feeling, but makes you feel positive after all.
B1 "amega furu" is a strict rhythm and bass track with the voice in Japanese. The track's tight groove gives you a tense atmosphere. The crispy snare grabs you to the world of minimal. The title means "It becomes a thunderstorm".
B2 "the scream" has got a horror atmosphere. The simple combination of sounds is getting darker and deeper towards the end. This track is showing the dark side of tofu productions as well as "amega furu".

Volta Cab has made quite an impact on the Nu Disco / Deep House scene since last year. He is a multitalented, versatile producer, performing brilliantly in a range from from Nu Disco, Deep House, Soul, Techno to Breakbeat. Approaching music in an open way, he is not restricting himself to a certain genre, catching the
Zeitgeist. On Serenades, Volta Cab takes us back to 1992 with a 4 tracker called „House Of The Rising Fire EP“
All of the tracks are heavily influenced by rave and house soundscapes of the early 90s. Think of early Prodigy, Altern8, Rachel Wallace and Baby D, combined with a modern nu disco twist.

Here comes the already promised vinyl-extraction of the already released Upon You Diary No.2 Compilation, on which you can find the UY- clan members and artists around the label. The four most popular titles of the cd were pored on vinyl. On A1 a collaboration of Douglas Green and Delhia de France, who lost gallons of love about their song "Sense". Mark Henning has also formed a passioned tech-house-mover with his track "Stacked", which complies his cool style. The B- side has an opener from our number one Dutchman Onno, who got together with our youngest member Marcus Gehring to produce the title "Elephant In The Room". Of course Marcus Meinhardt, who was responsible for the survey of the tracks cant be left a side. His contribution to this product carries the name "Splash" and is an example for Marcus Meinhardts driving tech-house-sound.
