Les Sans Pattes is the rock band of Robert Combas (world renowned contemporary painter and creator of the "free figuration" movement) and Lucas Mancione. Both are all-rounder, multi-instrumentalists, rigorous and nutty at the same time. They handle plastic arts, are musicians, video makers, actors, performers…in short, complete artists. They've got a rich and eclectic repertoire of more than 100 songs, and no limit: you'll hear them moving from rock to techno, from a love song to punk, with the same dexterity in each and every register.
If you have the chance to be in Paris around June 24th, they'll deliver a live performance during Michel Houellebecq's exhibition, at the Palais de Tokyo, to inaugurate the release of their album.

Wowser, what a stunning double feature we have here in our hands today! To all our ibiza amigos and chicas: Cocoon Recordings presents an unbelievable package just in time for the peak of this years Ibiza season. Please welcome Sonja Moonear and one of the greatest house and techno producers of all time, mister Carl Craig! And what a package this is… full of love, soul and electronic dance music highlights.

Carl Craig is in charge for CD1 of our official 2016 Ibiza release. The Detroits 90s techno wunderkind and the mastermind behind some of the biggest house and techno records ever made leaves us almost speechless with his amazing selection and mix. Of course we didn't expect anything less than this as Carl is a never ending source of inspiration for us and all house lovers around the globe. You know that feeling, somewhere between deepest admiration and jealousy looking at such a big talent with all these amazing productions and remixes he gave us… the god of techno has blessed this lovely and gifted artist and we are extremely proud to have him on our ibiza mix-CD this year! Maestro Craig selected a fine list of tracks for his mix by fellow legends like DJ Pierre (remixed by Ricardo Villalobos), Luciano (remixed by Dennis Ferrer), DJ Deep or Agoria. Carl Craig created a perfect mix with power and deepness at the same time - this is high class techno music. Especially the start of the CD with his exclusive C2 intro edit of Luca Ballerinis "Impressions Of A Dawn" catches us right from the beginning. By including two more remixes by himself the whole selection becomes a perfectly blended collage of music that appears like an xxl Carl Craig remix. This mix will be for sure one of the all time highlights in our ibiza-cd-series and it was definitely worth the wait! CC hypnotized us with this mix, this one will stay!

Coming up next is lovely Sonja and her mix for CD2 of our package. Miss Moonear included some real house lovers delights by artists like Elbee Bad, Ralphie Rosario, Frank Roger and the new US-Berliner Brett Johnson. What looks and sounds like a deep and housey collection develops pretty soon to a freaky and technoide mix that beams us straight back to our monday nights at cocoon/amnesia. Don't get us wrong, Sonja Moonears mix follows a cool and sexy house direction but it gets us going from start to end and she really knows when to power up the pace before bringing us back to the cool deepness again. This DJ-mix touches us with its electronic soul vibe and Sonja Moonear really handed us a true summer mix in. Everybody misses the sun and heat in the summer of 2016 so we desperately needed a heart warming music cure to take ibiza with us back home. We especially appreciate that Sonja included some of our all time favorites by John Tejada and Ricardo Villalobos (together with Argenis Brito), who receives the honor to close her mix. This is a mix full of pure sex and kicking deepness and we are really proud to have it on our label!

Robert Witschakowski takes a break from rewiring the rules of electro with his prolific The Exaltics project to deliver the eerie soundtrack album, 'Acanthosaura'.

Working with Nico Jagiella - with whom he co-runs the Solar One label - the pair have created the soundtrack for a world of flickering shadows, dark ambient textures and ominous bass tones. It's the first Crotaphytus release in six years and according to Witschakowski, a project stemming from his love of reptiles and movie soundtracks. Like previous Crotaphytus releases on Solar One, 'Acanthosaura' is a deeply atmospheric affair.

With each track title a reference to different types of lizards, from the death-paced drums of "Cyclura Cornuta" to the slow-motion ebm-disco groove of "Xenosaurus Platyceps" and the murderous subs of "Caiman Latirostris". In between, the dark ambient passages of "Conolophus Subcristatus" and "Amblyrhynchus Cristatus" as well as nods to The Exaltics' spaced out electro in "Iguana Delicatissima".

However, Robert insists that the album remains true to the project's ethos.

"Crotaphytus is always dark and haunting. The project has no rules and that gives us the total freedom to make everything with it. I make also different styles with The Exaltics, but I have a concrete vision every time. With Crotaphytus, we let it flow and see were we land at the end.

"For this album, we tried to create an atmosphere like you are in a deep jungle, chased by giant lizards. Ambient has really the power to transport feelings. I guess this is subliminal in us from watching films. Most soundtracks have a lot of music without beats, so we collected tracks with beats and also ambient ones. It's like a soundtrack for a movie," Robert explains.

Listen closely and you can hear the sound of the jungle at night as "Xenosaurus Platyceps" draws to an end or on the dusky dread that sets in on album closer "Amblyrhynchus Cristatus". From that perspective, there are similarities to The Exaltics.

"I'm a sucker for atmospheric music. I need to imagine things by hearing music. Other worlds, fantasy, come down from a daily struggle, so it's a must when I'm involved in a project. I could say half of Crotaphytus, the atmosphere, that is me, and the other half, is the power Nico gives to the project," he points out.

'Acanthosaura' is the first Crotaphytus release on Further, but not the last. "I'm really happy how it came together. It's growing into a very interesting project and with all this atmospheric ambient it fits very well with Further. I would work with them anytime again," says Rob.

In the meantime, listen to Crotaphytus scale the heights with the dark ambient masterpiece, 'Acanthosaura'.

The Cyclist produces, what he has termed, "Tape Throb"; musical excursions into techno dance that echo the production techniques and warm sounds of the electronic pioneers, taking his cues from the likes of Throbbing Gristle and Boards Of Canada. His releases to date on labels like Stones Throw, All City Records, Music Is For Losers and Crash Symbols have seen him rack up four full length albums (including under his Buz Ludzha moniker) with plenty more juice in the tank, as his debut on Hypercolour attests to.

"Pressing Matters" harks back to the golden age of breakbeat; bendy synths and pliable bass smack in the face of brain melting breaks, delivered with energy and a very authentic touch. A hugely unique sound and without frontiers, it's a cut that will cross genres with ease.

Robag Wruhme never fails to disappoint as a producer/remixer; his purple patch seems to show no sign of letting up, with releases on Pampa, Kompakt and remixes for Stimming, Alter Ego and Paul Kalkbrenner. His remix of "Pressing Matters" masterfully flips from its breaks origins into a twisted four to the floor belter, with grandiose touches and church like organs giving it a spiritual spin.

"Back In '92" will indeed evoke memories 24 hour pirate radio output and raving in fields, and for those who weren't there first time around, it's a cut that's as fresh and vital sounding today as it ever was, with light piano riffs and melodious keys over the choppy drums.

Featuring the vocal talents of Tanaya Harper, "Push" closes the EP in fine style; intricate drum patterns and rolling snares jar against the ethereal vocal performance and brooding synths, a quintessentially British type of production and one that treads similar territory to Jamie XX's recent pathos to UK rave culture.

Marco Faraone makes his debut on Josh Winks legendary Ovum Recordings with an original 4 track EP. EntitledRaw Jamsessions 001, the EP is the first of a new concept series intended for vinyl lovers and those whoappreciate the analogue sound.

The entire EP was produced live, with Marco connecting his hardware, preparing the patterns and recordinglive to Tape, unedited. The result is four high quality dance floor tools, with a raw, dusty, old-school analogueedge. Whilst each track is untitled, they each have their own distinct feel; the first is a rolling journey of echoingsynths and hefty drums, whilst the second is a long-player featuring a cascade of acid-tinged stabs. On the Bside003 makes for a laid-back yet gritty 6 minutes, whilst 004 closes off the EP with layers of percussion overa thudding bassline.

Raw Jamsessions 001 cements Marco Faraones status as a truly talented and diverse producer.
