OVERVIEW:
There aren't many artists that can lay claim to having put out records on labels as divergent as Rough Trade and John Talabot's Hivern Discs. Perhaps this is because few artists express such genuine diversity in their musical tastes and creative explorations as David Kitt. Since the turn of the decade as New Jackson he has mined a seam of driving, ghostly house to run parallel with his solo strand of ambient folk electronica. His debut release in 2011 The Night Mail on Pogo channeled early record collection heroes Aphex Twin and Orbital through to Drexciya and Projekt PM but had one foot firmly in the 21st century beaming in like some futuristic cyberballad. On the flip side Hussle Free had that mix of house and boogie sensibilities with dark and dusty synths and vocoder that would become a signature. This was followed by acclaimed releases on Hivern, Permanent Vacation, Major Problems, Apartment and most recently Cin Cin.
His debut album set for release on All City in May was recorded in Kitt's bedroom studio overlooking Dublin bay, its nocturnal hues very much a product of the nightshift often working on headphones with the rest of his housemates fast asleep. It takes full advantage of the scope of the LP format, ebbing and flowing between deep house club ready gems and more restrained and meditative beatless moments for the morning after. The recording process yielded many eureka moments with Kitt finally nailing sounds that had hitherto proved elusive. A key moment was getting a bank loan to buy an SP 1200 sampler - "It's a sound I've tried to get close to for almost half my life now and the only way to really nail it was to get the machine itself. It's featured on so many of my favourite records by the likes of Premier, RZA, MF Doom, Daft Punk, Moodyman and Theo" Indeed the presence of a sampler used heavily in hip-hop is no coincidence, for Kitt this record owes as much to beats and rhymes as it does to head-down club house. "My first love when it comes to samplers and drum machines is hip-hop and I've often wondered what kind of house Pete Rock or J Dilla would make. I like to think the record reflects that a bit."
"From Night to Night" is one end of the result of his artistic persistence. Machine love alongside crafted songsmanship is evident from start to finish - the beautifully structured pop tones of Put the Love In It and the deep vocoder boogie of Found the One sit next to the machine funk of SP2 and the atmospheric ambience of Cadaquez. There's a beautiful re-imagination of DJ Shadow in the ten minutes of the deep funk of After Midnight in A Perfect World with the LP closing out, appropriately enough, with a reworking of one of his breakthrough tracks - the epic piano house vibes of Of A Thousand Leaves. Part Larry Heard, part Pete Rock, part Arthur Russell, a deftly constructed LP of musical subtleties from a considered artist mining the creative result of a lifetime's listening and making.

A rich patchwork of influences have made up his exotic sound, along with the artists' experience in living and studying in London for 7 years, where he developed a raw style that fuses complex jazz, African drumming and blissed out ambient grooves together into something refreshingly original - it's no wonder why he is considered to be one to watch in 2017. The Love mini album takes you on a journey through a range of musical timbres, meticulously arranged acoustic samples into complex blends of sound, with surgical precision yet raw and rough production methods. Pavel ludin returns to Poker Flat Wax with a gripping four-tracker showcasing his myriad of talents. Born and raised in Eastern Siberia, Pavel Iudin found his way to the underground scenes of Moscow and Saint Petersburg where he firmly established his credentials. The Probe EP finds him at the height of his powers, serving up some serious burners. 'Probe 2' is a throbbing, deep roller with shimmering synths and a shuffling, evolving groove - one for keeping the floor on lock whatever the situation.
'Halo' has more classic feel to it, clearly a nod to the Chicago masters of the 90s, but maintaining a tough and fresh feel that is all ludin's own. Half way though, things really open up into thick, swingy vibe via a killer bassline and snappy percussion.
'Probe 3' is more acidic outing - although never resorting to the iconic 303, the track is a lysergic journey into dubbed out tech-house.
Closing out the EP is 'Groundlevel' - a driving, loopy groover that uses ludin's feel for atmosphere and tension to the max. The whole EP exudes a steely-eyed mastery of the studio and the dance floor - making Pavel Iudin one to watch over the next months.

Besides launching his fresh Bodybuilder Quartet series (QSB), inaugurated by Scott Franka, Nachtbraker
unveils yet another Quartet: four records in the The Trophy Quartet series (QST). Both these two Quartets
will be released over the course of the next two years.
The Trophy series will cover the warmer side of the house music spectrum. And who better than Parisian
boy-wonder Tell (Banoffee Pies, Skylax, Rutilance) to kick off proceedings with the brilliant “Faster Than
Light” EP. Last year he released “Hope Springs Eternal” on QS003 which was an overnight succes after
getting rinsed by heavyweights like Jeremy Underground and Detroit Swindle, so a proper solo EP was
inevitable.
On the A1 Tell serves up some intergalactic French filter house dubbed “Faster Than Light”, which brings
back the Daft Punk and Armand van Helden vibes of our Walkman-days. We all just love filters, admit it.
Its true. Next up is “Ya’ll Feel That Honey (Paradise Mix)”, a tune with undeniable swing and moody
chords that ultimately collide beautifully with a delectable big room piano riff that will stay in your head for
days. B1 opens with a leisurely-paced jam called “What Can U Do For Me”. It’s the ‘pretty one’ of the EP,
the one girls fall in love with and boys hate to love because they know he’s hot stuff. A high pitched vocal,
asking what you can do for her, flies over rubbery Rhodes chords with neat percussion keeping you on
the groove. The EP closes with B2 “Vamos A La Playa”. Keywords: coconuts, sand, bikini, six-pack and
tan. Vamos!

Besides launching his fresh Bodybuilder Quartet series (QSB), inaugurated by Scott Franka, Nachtbraker
unveils yet another Quartet: four records in the The Trophy Quartet series (QST). Both these two Quartets
will be released over the course of the next two years.
The Trophy series will cover the warmer side of the house music spectrum. And who better than Parisian
boy-wonder Tell (Banoffee Pies, Skylax, Rutilance) to kick off proceedings with the brilliant “Faster Than
Light” EP. Last year he released “Hope Springs Eternal” on QS003 which was an overnight succes after
getting rinsed by heavyweights like Jeremy Underground and Detroit Swindle, so a proper solo EP was
inevitable.
On the A1 Tell serves up some intergalactic French filter house dubbed “Faster Than Light”, which brings
back the Daft Punk and Armand van Helden vibes of our Walkman-days. We all just love filters, admit it.
Its true. Next up is “Ya’ll Feel That Honey (Paradise Mix)”, a tune with undeniable swing and moody
chords that ultimately collide beautifully with a delectable big room piano riff that will stay in your head for
days. B1 opens with a leisurely-paced jam called “What Can U Do For Me”. It’s the ‘pretty one’ of the EP,
the one girls fall in love with and boys hate to love because they know he’s hot stuff. A high pitched vocal,
asking what you can do for her, flies over rubbery Rhodes chords with neat percussion keeping you on
the groove. The EP closes with B2 “Vamos A La Playa”. Keywords: coconuts, sand, bikini, six-pack and

Jonas Kopp and Tresor have shared a bright and prosperous musical relationship for some years now, propelled further forward with Photon Belt.
Following Jonas’ debut album Beyond the Hypnosis in 2014, accompanied by the Red Plented EP (2014) and the HHH EP (2015), the Argentinian artist delivers a new full-length to the Berlin’s legendary imprint which will release on May 5th on double vinyl and digital formats.
This new opus is dedicated to a cosmic phenomenon our solar system experiences every 11,000 years. The
photon belt is a band of intense light energy into which our star and its planets moves into for a duration of
about 2,000 years. As part of the Pledian star group, our sun circles around the star named Alcyon, itself
located at all times in the photon belt. Other stars, including ours, move in and out of it for varying periods of
time, depending on their orbit.
Our way into the belt has already begun and will continue over the next five years. The result? Mankind in its
darkest hour paralleled with consciousness rising to further dimensions.
Expect a thoughtful and mature labor from Jonas Kopp’s mesmerizing 10-track journey, on which the
Argentine’s contemporary methods in production meet traditional techno constituents. Throughout the album,

Detroit's Burden Bros have long been looked upon with immense respect within contemporary dance music. Having been in operation since 1990 with their 430 West imprint they have long encapsulated the forward thinking vibe of Detroit Techno with their output over the last 20+ years, gaining praise from their motor city peers as well as fans worldwide. Having had success in the mainstream and an enduring underground presence they are well versed in the art of music. This double-pack 'Cymbolic' originally came out in 1995 and found favour with electronic music fans who sought a deeper edge in their music. It's all here, the trademark drum programming, the epic sense that all of the Burden Bros productions have within them. This is dancefloor music, music for DJ's to utilise, tools, but tools with the deepest soul imaginable. Listen to 'Terraforming' or 'The Symbiont' - perfect examples of driving, almost tribal-esque rhythms fused with strings, synth pads and human feeling. 'Cymbolic' is for you if you're a fan of Detroit Techno, but it's also for those who enjoy the deepest electronic sounds. That's not to say it isn't funky though, these tracks will decimate most dance-floors, and therein lies the secret. The sixth compilation of mutated machine music from Contort Yourself centres around British industrial pioneers Nocturnal Emissions. The group hack out two thick cuts of oil soaked savagery. Gears crunch and chains clatter as drum machines are minced and mangled for Demon Circuits Bloodbath before the reduced and removed bitterness of Even the Good Times are Bad. L.I.E.S. main man Ron Morelli under the guise of U-202 takes on the static of the '83 original, lonesome rhythms fired into a gaping hollow of echo and decay. There is brief respite, very brief, coming in the haunted strings of Penelope's Fiance. Torrent grinds this short break into dust with EXE 2 Blueprint, a sludge stomper drowned in distortion and dripping with distress. Innsyter (L.A. Club Resource), aka Seixlack, calls time with the hazy house bottle smasher; think fog machines and bodies in the dark and you're getting close. Off-kilter madness all-round!

Exotic instruments, unusual timbres, daring melodies and even slapped bass: the contrast between these sounds and Stamm’s grayscale groove is powerful.

Giegling artist Vril uses samples from Marianni’s Six Synthetic Suites released in 1986 to produce this lovely slab of dub techno. Carefully crafted, this track is all about soft edges, with a kind of blurry and hazy vibe that permeates it. A sense of motion is conveyed by the sparse but efficient rhythmic section, with chords and melodic elements giving the impression of floating. With much more contrast and complexity than it might seem at first listen, this is beyond your usual dub techno cut.

Also based in Berlin, Margaret Dygas’ own remix of Six Synthetic Suites is a deconstructed affair, built around a half step groove, ready to be used creatively in DJ sets. Somewhere between an ambient excursion and a more rhythmic jam, the producer uses a sparse palette of hallucinogenic, dizzying sounds with a dash of eerie darkness that gives this version a melancholic, unsettling nature.

Rising young talent, Elliot Adamson, has been on the Edible radar for a couple of years already, so it’s fitting that his debut for the Eats Everything curated imprint marks the label’s tenth release. The Newcastle born producer has been gathering an arsenal of some of the freshest and inventive house music for some time now, and two of these cuts are ripe and ready for consumption on this tasty Edible release. With its insatiable jackin’ vibe, “Still Workin” has already become a firm favourite in the DJ sets of Eats Everything; the DJ Deeon sampling track keeps pumping pure energy and classic Chi- town house troupes from start to finish, with a rasping bassline riff worming its way around the solid kicks and clattering hats. The fantastically named “Where The Fucks My Flanger At?” clearly represents his love of raw and undiluted house music. Coming from the Cajual/Relief school of trax, this is another crafty and playful club cut from the house of Adamson. Having built up a strong following already, and support for his music from DJs like Jackmaster, Skream and Patrick Topping, Adamson is on a real roll right now. His remixes of The Streets and Dizzie Rascal have pricked up many ears already, as have his productions for Hot Creations, Viva Music and Weapons. And with a label roster that includes Paul Woolford, Waze & Odyssey, Lord Leopard, Mele´, Lauren Lane and Eats Everything, Adamson is in good company with the entire Edible family.

Following the 'Screaming Ghosts' collection highlighting the music of C Cat Trance, Emotional Rescue and Malka Tuti return with the first of two EPs where the band's music is given over to a selection of artists, friends and collaborators for reinterpretation, re-editing, replaying and remixing to provide a modern outlook on the bands mixture of East meets West musicology. Very much the vision of Malka Tuti and close to their ground-breaking releases of the last two years, the genius is out of the bottle with a who's who representing both labels. First, Autarkic go supergroup in enlisting Tel Aviv's White Screen for a cover of Screaming (To Be With You). Totally replayed, this is the perfect opening, with wide-screen production, updated arrangement and decimal delivering vocals setting the standard. Following comes an effusive, simple and on-point remix of Dalbouka by the inspiring ledge that is JD Twitch. Platitudes aside - enough has been said by others - but the fact Twitch is as enthusiastic and driven as ever is testament enough. The simplicity and genius of his rework, where 909 is added alongside fx to speaker shaking effect, shows that less can be much more. In Sneaker (DJ) we have a name moving steadily from the (cult) periphery to become one to consistently check and respect. Following EPs for Rat Life and Bahnsteig 23, the singularity of his reversion is audacious and entrancing. Brevity, purity and ultimately intensity of percussion, horns, bell and guitar. Enter. To end volume 1 comes Die Orangen. Kris Baha and Dreems' bromance of Aussie label (red) heads, united in post-industrial explorations. With a deep, expansive album incoming on Malka Tuti, their brooding, rattling, ghostly mix is one for late night thinkers, that steps up to encapsulate an EP that successfully marries old and new, bringing C Cat Trance's music present

The return of Timothy J Fairplay sees tracks from his 2 EPs on Emotional Response remixed on one special release. Four favourite producers chosen to bring new dimensions to his brooding, shuffling electronics, featuring Scientific Dreamz Of U, Alessandro Parisi, Perseus Trax and Antenna. Part of the label since inception, the last five years have seen TJF's career explode with releases on Bird Scarer, Charlois and Hoga Nord, setting up the Crimes Of The Future label with Scott Fraser and releasing an album alongside Andrew Weatherall as The Asphodells. His EPs for Emotional Response saw some of his strongest, deep and dubbed out productions that marked their own terrain and these reworks have been a long term project. Starting with a trance inducing breaks-dub of Stories of Prison from Scientic Dreamz Of U and you understand why this mysterious producer has become a cult in his own dreamtime, as subs bump this vortexed revision to its own portal. Next Alessandro Parisi implants his cyber-electro-harmonies to Aim For The Yellow Sector. Fairplay's late night drive-by is respectfully given a future-retro mix, gliding away from East London's dank streets to mysterious plains and beyond. Things take an analogue twist for the flip with Perseus Traxx showing his love for Chi town on his remix of Saco Bay. A bumpin' bass sets the motion, mixing the swirling original to basement vibes x 10. Win win win. Kindred spirit and fellow Pinkman/Charlois member Antenna closes the EP with a deep retake of Night Ferry. After causing a stir with the killer Odessa EP and subsequent releases on Royal Oak and Beats In Space, a remix was a given. A mellow groove and optimistic keys is the perfect way to end this chapter of Timothy's music and await for new adventures

New Jersey's Green Village imprint return with the second Village Elders compilation, comprising four original cuts from Thefft/TOYC, BD1982, Eighth Ruin and Etch. Since 2014 Cloy, Em-Et and Hilla's Green Village vinyl only imprint has acted as a beacon for forward thinking house, techno and bass music genre's alike, recruiting DJ Spider, Franklin De Costa, Dakini9, Nicuri, plus more. Now stepping up with Village Elders 002, Green Village utilise a group of versatile UK producers including Embassy's Thefft alongside Crazylegs' TOYC, Keysound's break scientist Etch, mysterious producer Eighth Ruin, and Tokyo based BD1982 who co-runs Diskotopia. Thefft and TOYC's 'Atlantic' opens the package with syncopated rhythms laced with jittery organic hits, before spiralling sonics and twisted melodies get hooked into a rattling 808 sub line. BD1982 then steps up with 'In '95', utilising sparse rhythms alongside tightly programmed loops and synthetic ambience to create a 16-bit atmosphere before employing rolling subs to propel the cut forward. Eighth Ruin then ups the ante with razor sharp percussion in 'Whip', which pulsates along its waveform thanks to a warm undulating bass, aided by IDM-tinged synth breakdowns and pitched down vocals. Etch then delivers his new-wave break science in 'Predator', layering loops alongside a hypnotic reese in tandem with menacing vocals and glistening atmospherics. Village Elders 002 drops on Green Village on 25th July 2017.

When Lawrence Le Doux was asked by filmmaker Fabrizio Terranova to soundtrack his documentary about Donna Haraway, he requested not to see the movie first. "Instead, I asked him to tell me the story of his encounter with her and his experience of the shooting in California", Lawrence recalls. After all, Terranova's approach to Haraway, a science philosopher known for his work on gender, identity, technology and trans-species relationships, had also been an unorthodox one. Far from deepening too much in theoretical concepts, the director spent a summer filming Haraway and her dog Cayenne at her home in Southern California. Maybe that's the reason why the sounds in "Music For Documentaries" feels so genuine and palpable. Inspired by Terranova's stories about wandering, nature, the deep sea, the West Coast winds, Science Fiction and surf, Lawrence produced a series of short pieces that, a bit like a Miyazaki film, connect the purity of nature to an esoteric dimension. It's music filled with heartwarming melodies and textures, but always with a mystifying undertone. As Lawrence himself puts it, "I think there is a certain darkness in the Soundtrack, as well as in the documentary, maybe this is inherent of the presence of humans on Earth". Terranova finally kept four of the tracks for the movie, but there were many more sketches and ideas floating around. After hearing them all, we liked them so much that we asked Lawrence to finish them for us, hence the plural in "Music For Documentaries". Even if some of those are imaginary. All of the tracks were created using a limited amount instruments, with a deliberate crossover of old synthesizers like a Farsa organ or Sequential Circuits's Pro-One and 90's technology like the Roland JD-800. It is curious that Lawrence says all his synths are "half-broken", since the sounds he extracts from them are absolutely healing.

Year Zero" is a first release on Post Scriptum's own label and in a sense it is a manifesto defining it's musical identity. No space here for a sound targeting the current techno mainstream. There is dirt, and the pinch of imperfections, very characteristic of avant-garde electronics and industrial well known for the quite nearby past. On the A side, there are compositions appearing like shutters from experiments conducted in the secret laboratory. The rhythm is giving the appropriate weight, while the rest is a musical conglomerate of sounds and synthesis building up a feeling of anxiety. A swarming energy, a modulation, an uncertainty and lurking somewhere danger are surrounding us.On the flip side are remixes constituting the lighter counterpunch. Motor eurhythmics bringing to life the old good Detroit techno definitely of a dance-floor character, making this material ideal for an interesting set.

This time around, the package contains another 3 original cut + a super breezy remix by Scotsman "Linkwood". "Our Future Is Now" is the perfect opening track for the 2nd installment of the Heaven Electric concept. "DaRand Land" surprises friend and foe with some heavily vibrating strings and pads which collide beautifully with the mechanical sounding perc cuts that itch throughout. Clever textures and a soothing atmosphere that are reminiscent of Mediterranean club situations. "Our Future Is Now" also proves to be inspirational to remix artist "Linkwood" who carves up an extremely juicy electro cut that gives the original somewhat more edge and forces it into an entirely different direction. On the flip we find "Emanation" and "Mellow-ism". Emanation is a classic sounding yet effective House cut for the dancefloor, Mellow-ism is a more mood altering hazy trip with acidic tones and smooth drum patterns.

JTT Originally from London, Jimmy moved to Bristol in '95, drawn by the Fresh 4, Full Cycle and the big Bristol sound. He started out DJing at house parties and renowned underground venues like Cosies. Bristol's melting pot, combined with his Gilles Peterson-inspired school years made for some eclectic roots. It was only a matter of time before playing other people's records wasn't enough Inspired by a Salsoul-sampled techno track (East End Trax's Chalk Line), with his first computer and some self-taught software Jimmy cut his first edit. Recutting tunes quickly became standard procedure, for his own sets quickly became the norm. Alexander was involved in promoting Underground Society at the now legendary Bowgie Nightclub in Newquay during the early 90s. Bringing in and DJing alongside the likes of Marshall Jefferson, DJ Disciple, Paul Trouble Anderson, Robert Owens and Noel Watson to an always packed out fortnightly event that closed at 12.30AM ! B1 . Tijn: Stranger Things has a lovely smooth authentic original house vibe with subliminal whispers. The hats and snares carry the swing seamlessly throughout this track. B2. Munich's Martin Matiske started his recording career at fifteen with his stunning ep Stars & Galaxy for DJ Hell's Gigollo Records back in 2002. Here he dons 4 fresh tracks for the Vivod label with his trademark electro sound, somewhere between Dopplereffekt, classical & wave. Kicking off the ep is Die Nibelungen, a sort of speak & spell classical piece with an electro backing track. A2 - Bayerischer Wald is a chord heavy majestic bomb in a 5/4 time signature, maybe a stretch too far for the linear techno dj but that's what makes this ep so interesting. B2 - Virtuosic Mechanic harks back to his previous work on Gigollo Records, a more club orientated track which should do some effective damage on the floor. Rounding things off is Kammermusik, a subtle electro ballad. If you like your electro with a heavy classical influence then this is your ep.

Delivery debuted in 2014 on Delroy Edwards' L.A. Club Resource label with ""Drama"", a beast of a 12"". Now he brings his Los Angeles hardware warfare to Valcrond Video with three tracks of elegantly balanced machine music. The entire A side is filled by the 12 minute sprawl of ""Brain Drained"", a journey down a dark greasy corridor. Towards the middle of the tunnel a dwarf stands casually, arms akimbo, as a 6 foot blonde bangs her head against the wall. The dwarf gives you a lethal look and silently mouths the words Keep on moving buddy, so you shuffle along, terrified, towards what might be the end of the tunnel, but sure smells like a funeral pyre. B1(Technology Transplant) lets you lick a deceptively sweet lollipopi when babies are scared, it's good to let them suck on something. B2 (four-two-nine) comes at you raw and direct with ten minutes of brawny pulse. You bite right through the lollipop. That same dwarf is backi he hands you a jersey (number 23) and some shoulder pads. Don't you remember you joined the football team?

This multi-faceted Italian producer also deploys weirdo sounds under the name Secret Rave and Strange Audio Dreams, often on his own label Art-Aud. He has also released under the alias Moscow Death Disco on Helena Hauff's Return to Disorder. Remixes of ""Access Code"" from Valcrond affiliates Decor and Mr. Husk start off each side. Both will pound and smear club meat all over the countertop. Let's pound those veal cutlets so thin you'll be able to see through them like flesh-pink stained glass. A2 brings us the sleazy slouch of ""Bleep Shots"". It sure sounds like a crew of developmentally impaired bullies out to steal your lunch money, so hold on to your fanny pack. Finally, the title track closes things out in a brilliantly uncomfortable way. ARS trip is a headache you'd pay to have. "
