Our home artists are back on the label after a successfull album released on Get Phisycal Music last summer. For this new output on Circus Company the two .hat brothers' delivers a unik two tracker based
on that .recette' they got the secret from… First of all .Encore', the A side, is a dj friendly oriented track that will reminds you one of the early Nôze output on Circus Company called Pofamika which was released in 2005. The track is basicly composed by a strong bass line that keeps rollin' rollin' rollin' and rollin' over a solid beat and a few significative .nôzy' pads. All these elements are surrounded by a beautifull girl voice which quietly tells you what to do to relax. sexy french voice !!! You wish you could see her charming face between the grooves of the record… On B side, here is the message : .Meet me in the Toilet' ! What's Inside… Well sounds like a quite nice groovy party. Here comes the Nôze with their horn .horny' sexion and chior duet.

Jacek Sienkiewicz beweist mit „Displaced" einmal mehr, dass Techno weitaus intelligenter klingen kann als Schranz.
Das 9 Tracks umfassende Album des 27-jährigen Polen ist erfrischend, dynamisch und hat trotzdem die Power,
um den Club zu rocken. Der Albumopener „Dream Machine" erinnert von seiner Melodie an den „Solaris-Soundtrack".
Das Album fesselt einen von Beginn bis zum Ende und man wundert sich wie schnell die Zeit vergeht.
Am liebsten würde man „Displaced" gar nicht mehr aus dem Player nehmen. by F. Tabel

In 20 years time, when vinyl diggers are hunting the most obscure house and techno treasures from the '90s and noughties, they'll probably turn to expert Patrick Specke for assistance. This DJ and producer from Düsseldorf is dedicated to the machines that he uses to craft his metallic, shimmying tunes - but he's equally committed to collecting the best pieces of vinyl that walk the earth.
You can hear it in his tracks for this Desolat release: a solid understanding of the space between the beats and the subtly textured samples that help make up a fine dance-floor groove. Tracks like Get Me Out and Bitchual Linestepper use tight drum loops to build the kind of stealth attack that lends itself to dancefloor damage. On Naggin' Me the building blocks that make up the classiest 4/4 recordings are reshuffled and stretched out - from here to Mars and back.

We‘re proud to welcome Marc Antona as the newest member on the Highgrade artist roster. Unless you’ve spent the last few years living under a rock you will most likely already know his name! The French producer has recently put out releases on several hot labels like Freak‘n‘Chic, Micro-Fibres, Sender and Mobilee . The opening track, “Red Faces“ instantly proves why Marc‘s sound fits perfectly into the Highgrade musical universe: highly energetic and hypnotic, it develops slowly but relentlessly into an irresistible groove. The first track on the flipside “Wheel of Chance“ skillfully picks up this train of thought, throwing some more percussion into the mix, which next to some bleeping synth lines will guarantee effortless intoxication on the dancefloor. “Hustle“ on the B2 grooves on relentlessly as well - with some slick seeded reverse claps and Detroit inspired synth stabs. Our hats are definitely off to this release, and we look forward to many more from Mr. Antona! + Look out for the digital only bonustrack!

Mano Le Tough sent me this track already 2 years ago so I can testify that this track has been roadtested and indeed passed the test. A simple,dark and effective melodic techno track with quite an anthemic feel to it if I may say it myself... after a bit of fiddling around trying to come up with the right person to remix it Mano came up with Halve a sun which now graces the b-side even more gracefully than any remix money could buy. As you can probably guess I'm bored to death writing these infosheets...don't let that fool you, this one's a killer

The making of this record inadvertently began in Cuba in January 2008. Powershovelaudio was recording in La Havana some of the best contemporary Cuban singers and musicians. The resulting recordings were of an inspiring beauty. The situation was that Powershovelaudio had this outstanding collection of Voices, Woods and Brass, all infused by the tropical warmth. It was first-class material that should be put in the best hands possible, then Maayan came to mind.
“Night Long” is a synthetic work. Maayan has inexplicably, quickly and with incredible precision captured the essence and the expressivity of the Cuban musicians and taken it to a hitherto unknown place. Maayan is of course well-known for her diligent talent in inserting voices of quality in her mixes, but in this occasion
the result is more than surprising. Instead of concentrating in her signature minimal beats, Maayan has experimented with different cadences, depths and moods, leaving behind her swirl a disconcerting record of inspired beauty. This art in this record is graced with photography by one of the best and most influential photographers in the world: Moriyama Daido. Maayan asked Moriyama san for permission to use the cover image, a request which Moriyama san, after listening to the record, gladly accepted.

A short introduction
16 Billion Drum Kicks is the new major Sino outing introducing Brazil's top electronic music producer, Renato Cohen. It delivers here a cleverly produced fusion of tribal-esque grooves, Samba Jazz and Funk amalgamated onto its firm foundation of its dancefloor Techno roots. With the help of legendary guest artists such as 70's Brazilian Samba Rock Marku Ribas, Sao Paolo's Samba virtuoso Bocato and Techno hero Technasia, amongst others, Renato conveys a combination of sonic subtleties and frenetic nuances that takes the listener through a myriad of emotions. A first fresh album sure to build on you, it is both a gem to listen in a relaxed state of mind as well when engaged in lightning pace. It's in 2007, after more than 10 years of production and performances, that Renato felt he finally reached the maturity and level of eclecticism required to work on a bigger scale project. He spent the next two years working on the production of his first album, 16 Billion Drum Kicks. With the mainstream Techno style moving to a minimal, darker and melancholic sound, the album finds an alternative, conveying a global positive mood and dancefloor energy. It is an experiment that combines organic sounds with electronic music and features many Brazilian Jazz and Samba musicians, such as the 60 years-old Samba-Rock legend Marku Ribas on the track Cosmic Man, and the wellrespected trombone player Bocato, in an unexpected Samba-Jazz version of Pontapé. Techno producer and long-lasting friend Technasia also collaborated closely with Renato at the different stages of the production of the album, including mixing and mastering. It's with this project that the two fellas realised they could bring the collaboration to the next level, and came up with the idea of a Live/ DJ performances series entitled Sino Live!, a mix of mashups of their original tracks together with loop and re-edits of well-known Techno classics. The newly formed duo performed during summer 2008 at several festivals, including Monegros (Spain), Electromind (France) and Wire (Japan).

When Jus- Ed played his legendary 5 hours DJ-Set in Hamburg in February 2008 it was the beginning of the Underground Quality - Smallville - Connection. Bridgeport, Hamburg, Paris, Berlin: One Love and deephouse at it's best. At that night in Hamburg, Jus- Ed deeply fell in love with Steinhoff & Hammouda's "You Are" (Smallville06), to be played at the Underground Quality radio show almost every wednesday. So the Real House Daddy from Bridgeport created a lovely floating version of that tune-can you feel it! In the meantime Julius Steinhoff and Abdeslam Hammouda found themselves back in studio with Hamburg's newcomer Dionne, who also works at smallville record shop, to produce a couple of superb flavoured Housetunes for the upcoming Dial sublabel Laid- and a first sweet anthem for this UQ/Smallville release that is....
