Portable Sunsets is one of the monikers of Peter Segerstrom: a producer based in Brooklyn, US. He previously released his full-length album 'Bless' on Atomnation, an LP as 'Surfing' on 1080p and another Portable Sunsets LP on Deadelus 'Magical Property' label. 'Order' is the follow up of these records and is a dreamy, somewhat lo-fi experimental techno LP.

Combined with an ancient ambient undertone, 'Order' is not loosing its club ready vibe. This record floats somewhere between laid-back warehouse techno and the electronica genre - very much representing a unique style: Peter often uses his own voice in his productions, programmed through self-created synths in MAX/MSP. Vocals have become textures and are used as a synth, pad or soundscape.

The combination of genres makes 'Order' a perfect record to dream away on at home, as well as to dance to in clubs.

IvanLatyshev is a record producer and DJ with more than 10-years experience, having grown up in Russia's cultural epicentre of St Petersburg. Developing a love for deep house, the young producer has been releasing his perfectly-realised club tunes on labels such as Toolroom, and now provides us with a second outing on Dessous Recordings. The Art of Flying EP presents two original tracks and a pair of remixes of the lead cut.
The original 'Art of Flying' is quite a statement - a jazzy, swingy beat introduces the track, before solidifying around punchy 4 / 4 groove. Restless synths drift in and out resulting in a track that is both exceptionally funky and deeply wonky - topped off with a killer spoken word vocal.
The ever-dependable Eddie Fowlkes steps up on remix duties and supplies a more jacking interpretation, adding a filthy bassline on his Fly Mix.
The same track also gets a 'Crazy Dub' rework which expands the space within the track and strips it down for maximum club effect.

Loco Dice's Desolat label welcomes UK artist wAFF for its next EP, a meaty four tracker by the name of Hanzz Sup.
In recent times, wAFF has really established himself as one of the beacons of main room house and techno around the world. From standout sets at key Ibiza clubs to gigs at fabric, London via big underground hits on labels like Drumcode, Cocoon and Hot Creations, he is a real man of the moment.
The title track opens the EP in fine style with hulking great big kicks reverberating down low as wonky tones and scattered percussion add more heat. Barreling along and taking no prisoners, it is a hugely physical drum track with spoken word mutterings piling on the pressure. Making just as big an impression but in less direct ways, the shuffling and bubbling "Karimba" is a skittish, busy affair with tribal drums and vocal chants all layered up into something that is sure to become anthemic in Ibiza this summer. On the flip side "Hypnotised" works on getting into your brain with tight, scurrying drum and percussive patterns that never let up. It's a dense, busy arrangement that makes for a high octane ride. Last of all "Inception" takes on more of a house feel, with well swung, low slung drums bringing the groove as hammering hits and frosty synth lines keep busy up top.
This is house and techno that makes a big impact from one of the most on point producers out there right now.

Sounding the promise of long days ahead and late nights to follow with its opening salvos, Chloé's The Dawn heralds the return of the Paris-based DJ and producer, and a new dawn in her ever-evolving career. Indeed, The Dawn is her inaugural release on her own label Lumière Noire, which she recently set up as a separate entity - after using the name for a collection of releases over the last few months, and of course for her infamous Rex Club night, which has since 2014 become a bit of a club house for Parisian electronic
music fans. Operating Lumière Noire as a fully-fledged label will enable Chloé to release a new full-length album (of which The Dawn is the lead single) sometime in the next few months. Over the ten-plus minutes of The Dawn, a spoken-word track languishes over melodic washes in a dramatic progression that evokes a novel, or noir-ish cinema - a method that the producer has taken a shine to since "Take Care".

This cultivation of the strange and the beautiful has become her calling card, putting her in a league with likeminded producers, who take the basic tenets of techno and inject them with their own singular poetic visions. A visual-arts analogue could be found in Noémie Goudal's photographs which grace the EP's cover as they will Chloé's upcoming releases.

This stirring aesthetic gives The Dawn a slightly cerebral dimension, which is taken to new depths by Dixon's stubbornly technoid remix. The Berlin-based whiz kid, who has over the last few years risen to the top of the international electronic music scene, inverts Chloé's light-drenched, full-bodied production into a tense, captivating chiaroscuro.

The Dawn can also be explored via the "CHLOÉ X IRCAM V2: The Dawn Interactive Mix" installation, which embodies Chloé's music as an intimate interactive experience. It is one of the first offshoots of a constantly mutating collaboration between Chloé and the IRCAM Institution (https://www.ircam.fr/) that began in 2015.

The 4 track EP kicks off with Emotions, a collaboration between Nenor and Omri Smadar, a classically trained jazz pianist with a diverse musical background. The track has a driving sharp rhythm with a repetitive vocal mantra sure to steer and shuffle emotions on the dancefloor.

Diminished State is a dark, eerie and atmospheric affair from Kali Boog, aka Kalimist. The vivid kaleidoscope of colossal analog techno grooves has a funky, gritty vibe with pads hinting that there might be something sinister lurking behind the speakers.

On You'll Never Find Love, we find veteran producer and 'Fortuna Records' co-founder Kalbata in top form. His razor sharp, warm analog rhythms provide the perfect backdrop to the moody, soulful vocal samples floating in a pool of endless ripples and echoes.

Closing off the EP is Afternoon Walk, an unexpected piece that came into existence when Obas Nenor casually experimented with the rewiring and routing of analog gear and effects at his new studio. This hypnotic jam session-like result was recorded directly from the mixer to a 2 track capturing a moment of trial and wonder.

Biographies
Obas Nenor is the alias of the Tel-Aviv producer and DJ Ronen Sabo (also known as SaBBo). His debut EP as Obas Nenor "I Love You" was signed to the iconic house label Strictly Rhythm, followed by a second release, "My Way Home" which was released on Moodymann's legendary label Mahogani Music. Since then Obas Nenor released an EP with Heist Recordings' Sol Power on his own label "Nenorion." He's also known for his disco works as Rabo&Snob with longtime collaborator "DJ Rob." Nenorion Music is planning to release a variety of music as diverse as Nenor's style.

Omri Smadar, also known as Libra Discotheque, is a musician/DJ/producer based in Tel Aviv. He is considered to be one of the city's most diverse underground figures with a musical resume that you don't meet very often: a classical & jazz pianist, composer with a major in Music Composition and Theory, reggae sound system MC, songwriter, music teacher, highly acclaimed remixer as well as a talented DJ with a keen ear for deep house, oriental cuts, obscure disco and basically whatever else is out there on the left field of dance music.

Kalbata is a veteran producer from Tel Aviv and the co-founder of the reissue label 'Fortuna Records.' Regardless of genre, his distinct musical approach comes through a deep affection for low frequencies and a collection of vintage effects and instruments. His razor sharp beats guarantee a warm analog feeling of floating in a pool of endless ripples and echoes. The same qualities come forth in Kalbata's precise and intense DJ sets, which cover everything from techno, African tribal music & dub.

Kali Boog aka Kalimist introduces a vivid kaleidoscope of colossal analog techno grooves and funky yet gritty existence in a 4 by 4 arena. His sound exhibits an interchangeable romance of techno and deep funk which wreaks havoc amongst dancefloor enthusiasts.

The ICE LP was created by Maxim Wolzyn over a period of three years, mostly whilst touring throughout
Germany by train as part of the Günther Lause duo. Spread over eight tracks, the LP poetically captures the
complex networks of railways and tunnel systems that carry with them the thoughts and feelings of millions of
people, aspiring to attain an overall impression of the collective consciousness of a society on the move.
Inspired sonically by the soundscapes of urban spaces, rail stations and the pulsing motions of modern mass
transportation, various field recordings are mixed with reverberating synthesizer patterns and percussive
composition, creating a mixture of straight forward techno and dystopian ambiences.
While being reminiscent of Berlin's dub techno tradition it also transcends the typical club context, moving into the
realm of the intimate and personal. On black vinyl and limited to an edition of 300.

Zaquoir alias Matthias Groß is a producer and musician currently living in Leipzig. After sending more than 10
GIGABITES of great music to SVS Records, we sat down together and tied a selection of his really eclectic styles
of production together into one LP, creating some sort of showreel created in the timespan of over 15 years.
Zaquoir himself sees the record as a reminiscent mood of a donkey in the Sardinian sun and describes the record
as a trip in itself, allowing the listener to traverse the lines of various acoustic landscapes.
The tracks on the LP where produced in six different places, including a historic house in the centre of Vilnius,
Leipzig, at a French-German art association and a village in Northern Bavaria.
The record playfully finds itself somewhere between early Rephlex releases, AFX’s Ambient Works and The Other
People Place slowly but steadily picking up listeners around the world.

experimental broken electronic music, based on harmonic algorythms and programmed structures
using Linux and a plethora of over 600 half-baked, buggy, highly innovative yet trashy open-source
software algorithms. Keeping in sync with this - all the artwork was completely auto-generated by
software using an evolution-based artificial intelligence engine called QBist.

David Goldberg is about to release his debut 12" on SVS records, which was founded by Benedikt
Brachtel alias Bartellow and Camila Fuchs’ Daniel Hermann-Collini in 2013. When asked about his
idea and motivation for releasing this record, he writes: “I wanted to make IDM and put it back where it
belongs: On the dance floor!”
With this EP he perfectly fits in the manifest destiny of SVS Records: Industrial influenced and
versatile electronica, every pattern composed on modular synths.
Goldberg delivers an exciting EP, paying homage to Braindance foundation labels like Rephlex or
Planet Mì. Without any doubt an amazing release and a young artist to look out for in the future.

On his sixth album, The Arc of Tension, the Berlin based DJ, label owner and producer OLIVER KOLETZKI yet again presents his remarkable vision of contemporary electronic music, while he assumes the role of a storyteller. The Arc of Tension speaks to its listener as a singular, self contained work, which communicates by way of its natural flow and arc of suspense. The latter is mirrored not only in the multifarious narrative of the actual album, but can also be understood as evidence for its creator's long musical history.
While Koletzki focussed on a diverse range of vocal collaborations on his previous long players, he now moves on to a different form of storytelling, rooted in the quiet confidence of a veteran musician, as well as the hectic lifestyle of a globally in demand DJ. The Arc of Tension is the psychonautic journey through the various continents of Oliver's consciousness. The quiet chirps and warbles, which initially unfold on the opener 'A Tribe Called Kotori', thus act as a loose associative bridge to 'Der Mu?ckenschwarm', Oliver's big breakthrough hit of 2005. The first minutes of the album leave no room for doubt - we are immediately locked into an autobiographical world of sound that knows how to captivate from the get go. The dreamy, exotic timbres of the downbeat tracks 'By My Side', Tankwa Town' and 'Byron Bay' penetrate our minds in a subtle yet purposeful manner. But soon the tension tightens and organic sounds one by one evolve towards a sterner, electronic cadence. The bittersweet neon synths of 'Spiritual Not Religious' pave the way for the complex rhythm of 'A Star Called Akasha', an early highlight carried by melancholic cellos and contemplative piano chords. The ultimate turning point follows with 'Through the Darkness'. Here, at the album's centre, Koletzki starts continuously upping the tempo and leads the way with his very own, melodic interpretation of today's techno Zeitgeist, which he has been shaping since 2015's 'Iyéwaye'.
'Planetarium', 'They Can't Hold Me Back' and 'Chaturanga' exemplify, moreover, that a fusion of delicate musicality and sheer force leads to impressively ecstatic results. With its rough guitar chords and the acidic chitter of the TD303, 'Power to the People' rings in The Arc of Tension's ending, until we fully take off into space, weightlessly propelled by the ambient drones of 'The Day We Leave Earth'. Ultimately, what lingers is the feeling that we are being granted a deep glance into the innermost being of an outstanding artist.

Flying high after their successful Watergate 22 compilation, Catz N' Dogz return to deliver eight exclusive tracks from their mix via two EP's showcasing their expert ability to navigate a multitude of different styles.

EP #1 commences with Catz 'N Dogz original 'Fire Burning When We Are', a tune that sees them flying solo to create a stunning journey that lands somewhere sonically between Carl Craig and Henrik Schwarz where infectious drums reinforce an ensemble of dramatic harmonies tangling with euphoric melodies.

'Afterglow' follows suit with an attitude infused vocal from Shaun J. Wright laid over a trek into a world where 'Old School' vibes meet a 'New School' plan of attack resulting in an absolute floor filler perfect for any time.

Rounding out the EP are remixes from two of the best: Prosumer and Sebo K. Prosumer steps up first to rework 'Fire Burning When We Are' and creates a massive tune with the signature Prosumer touch, evident in the timelessness and maturity of the reimagining. Sebo K in turn hands over a Jackin' remake of 'Afterglow' by staying true to the original by keeping everything as simple as possible, but not simpler.
