Shortinfo:

The Forever Bob EP is a requiem to Bob De Rosa by his long time close friends and collaborators Grant Dell, Terry Francis, Mark Allister and Faton Dolaku. These recordings draw on fond memories of their time spent with a man who lived for underground dance music and is rightly regarded as one of its true originators.

As resident DJ at Heart & Soul from 1993, Bob set the benchmark for sonic excellence, helping to define the sound of the underground - acid and Chicago house flawlessly fused with techno and electro. And it wasn't just the music - the people that Bob helped to bring together, created a chemistry that kick started a whole movement. Whoop Whoop, Wiggle and countless other underground parties have grown an extended family tree.

Touring Australia with Mr. C and crossing the USA with DIY in the nineties, Bob's deck talents won him the wider acclaim of an increasingly international audience, including regular appearances in Kosovo. A succession of releases with Grant on Uhuru Beats, Totem and Hooj Choons also brought recognition for his production skills.

Facing a terminal condition, Bob continued to play and attend many of the events he and his legacy had inspired. He was still there supporting his mates, spreading positive vibes, peace love and happiness with a big beaming smile. From the outset, right up to the end, Bob De Rosa resolutely remained the heart, the soul and the pure spirit of the party.

A1. Grant Dell's mix references the early Chicago house of the wide-eyed nights they spent together at Bob's Full House and Energy. It gets back to the kind of groove they championed through their many releases together

A2. Terry Francis' mix evokes the kind of dark, angular delights Bob pioneered as main resident at Heart and Soul. The spoken sample offers a few well chosen words. Bob and Terry also released an EP on Eye 4 Sound together as the Sweet Leaf Grinders.

AA1. Bognor's finest Mark Alistair, who introduced Bob to more memorable South Coast weekenders than either could fully recall, navigates deeper and choppier waters for his mix with Luke Holden.

AA2. Faton Dolaku booked Bob to play Kosovo so many times; Bob met the love of his life, Arta there. Faton's mix evokes sun-drenched sunrises and warm feelings of togetherness.
