A1. Forever bob Grant Dell mix A2. Forever bob Terry Francis mix B1. Forever bob Mark Allister&Luke Holden mix B2. Forever bob Faton Dolaku mix
Shortinfo:
The Forever Bob EP is a requiem to Bob De Rosa by his long time close friends and collaborators Grant Dell, Terry Francis, Mark Allister and Faton Dolaku. These recordings draw on fond memories of their time spent with a man who lived for underground dance music and is rightly regarded as one of its true originators.
As resident DJ at Heart & Soul from 1993, Bob set the benchmark for sonic excellence, helping to define the sound of the underground - acid and Chicago house flawlessly fused with techno and electro. And it wasn't just the music - the people that Bob helped to bring together, created a chemistry that kick started a whole movement. Whoop Whoop, Wiggle and countless other underground parties have grown an extended family tree.
Touring Australia with Mr. C and crossing the USA with DIY in the nineties, Bob's deck talents won him the wider acclaim of an increasingly international audience, including regular appearances in Kosovo. A succession of releases with Grant on Uhuru Beats, Totem and Hooj Choons also brought recognition for his production skills.
Facing a terminal condition, Bob continued to play and attend many of the events he and his legacy had inspired. He was still there supporting his mates, spreading positive vibes, peace love and happiness with a big beaming smile. From the outset, right up to the end, Bob De Rosa resolutely remained the heart, the soul and the pure spirit of the party.
A1. Grant Dell's mix references the early Chicago house of the wide-eyed nights they spent together at Bob's Full House and Energy. It gets back to the kind of groove they championed through their many releases together
A2. Terry Francis' mix evokes the kind of dark, angular delights Bob pioneered as main resident at Heart and Soul. The spoken sample offers a few well chosen words. Bob and Terry also released an EP on Eye 4 Sound together as the Sweet Leaf Grinders.
AA1. Bognor's finest Mark Alistair, who introduced Bob to more memorable South Coast weekenders than either could fully recall, navigates deeper and choppier waters for his mix with Luke Holden.
AA2. Faton Dolaku booked Bob to play Kosovo so many times; Bob met the love of his life, Arta there. Faton's mix evokes sun-drenched sunrises and warm feelings of togetherness.

A1 / In your mind - original mix A2/ In your mind - Grant Dell's space echo mix
B1/ In your mind - Silicone soul's Darkroom dub. B2 / In your mind - Silicone soul's Hypnohouse mix
After making a great impression with its first EP, Giant Records serves up a second hot helping of house music from boss man Grant Dell, complete with fresh remixes by Scottish techno stalwarts Silicone Soul.
Dell, also known as Chicago Transit Authority, has been doing his do for 25 years now. As a DJ he is at home in clubs in Ibiza and Barcelona as well as around the rest of Europe, and is someone who always prefers to push his own brand of widely infused and influenced music than his own profile.
Once again here he comes up trumps with the emotive, glowing house cut 'In Your Mind'. With a neat bassline and mid tempo house drums, subtle but effective synth smears add warmth and colour to the groove, whilst soul fuelled vocals add a real sense of personality. This is sure to get people grooving at any hour and comes with Grant's own Space Echo remix. As the title suggests it's a more dubby and reverb rich affair with cosmic signifiers and sci-fi vibes pervading from start to finish.
Silicone Soul need little introduction having been at the heart of real deep house and techno for decades on the Soma label. Their first remix is a Darkroom Dub - named after their own label - and is a seductively slo-mo and lazily unfolding house cut with languid synths that really suck you in. Their lush Hypnohouse Mix is then a twinkling, late night bit of melodically rich deep house with starry skies twinkling above sombre chords.
This is a patiently served but hugely alluring EP that is stuffed with plenty of tender feeling. One again then, both Grant and Giant have come up with the goods

A1 / The way we feel - original mix B1/ The way we feel - Tom Gillieron remix
The forth inline on Giant is again from GRANT DELL this time grant take us on a deep dive into the realms of a trippy moog lead madness, on - THE WAY WE FEEL - Filtered out dub stabs evolve around a timothy leary inspired spoken word - dark heady madness. The next version is from TOM GILLIERON - Tom's been releasing some wicked music since 1997 on some influential labels and his mix shows why just that. Reminiscent of an old school - MOOD 2 SWING meets BASIC CHANNEL kind of groove - his mix twists and turns and takes us into a wicked spaced out techno jam but keeping the swing on the drums and the snap on the sub lead groove.

Vinyl ONLY - 200 PRESSED. Hand stamped - numbered
Tracklist: A1/ Gangsta - Tome Gillieron mix - A2/Gangsta original mix , B1/Gangsta - Jay Tripwire mix - B2/Gangsta - David Holness mix
The 12th Release from GIANT RECORDS is from BASEMENT UK - Abian Saavedra and Brando Morales are two young producers that hail from the Canary islands and both have a massive love and respect for the early UK HOUSE & GARAGE sound - hence their name. Their track - GANGSTA - lends itself to the above mentioned sound and could surely stand the test of time among those early classics and it reminds us of an early Grant Nelson Nice&Ripe groove, Wicked swinging drums and hats that all sit comfortably on a low sub bass and spoken word jam.
The next mix of GANGSTA is from long time Giant favorite TOM GILLIERON - Tom's mix is dark and twisted with hidden layers that swell and grow through the track - his mix builds and builds with a subtle use of the original vocal which then turns into a trippy late night slice of dark magic - Tom's sound is 100% on the button on this mix - EXCEPTIONAL !
The following mix is from long standing Tech-House master - JAY TRIPWIRE - Jays mix takes us on a 303 Acid ride into a heady state of affairs, twisting and turning the dial until the point of break - a serious peak time killer.
The last mix falls on DAVID HOLNESS - keeping the essence of the original but adding more punch and a heavy weight bottom end and sweet Techno pads - that will sure to rock many a dance floor. Vinyl only - 200 pressed and hand stamped and numbered.

Tracklist:
A -SIDE - LOW JAM - ORIGINAL MIX - SASCHA DIVE MIX
B-SIDE - NO PERSPECTIVE - ORIGINAL MIX - GRANT DELL REMIX
REMIXERS - SASCHA DIVE - GRANT DELL
GIANT RECORDS see's in the new year with a killer EP from a bright new producer from Poland - by the name of - MARIUZ KRYSKA - Mariuz offers up two peak time grooves here with remix duties falling on - SASCHA DIVE and GIANT head honcho GRANT DELL. The first track up is LOW JAM, which see's the original mix dive into a deep drum lead swing - reminiscent of old Todd Terry beats, that have gone before, all topped off with a spoken word and tight hats and rides.
Next up is SASCHA DIVE - giving LOW JAM a slowed down Dubby feel with some sweet Dubbed-out stabs that evolves into that deep house sound that sascha has mastered over the years.
Next cut is NO PERSPECTIVE - Mariuz's original mix is a relentless bass heavy work out which weaves around some slick west coast gangsta rhymes and Detroit style strings and pads.
GRANT DELL'S take on No perspective leans on the Detroit style pad, from the original and add's some off kilter 808 beats that sit nicely along some smart 303 stabs and the gangsta rhyme - which then merges into a slick Techno jam with added breakbeat's.

The track extracts a vocal sample from the gorgeous Moloko song "The Time Is Now" keeping in synchronicity to the deep, full-tone groove which is woven in amongst fine, elevated electronic touches which take you on a energetic excursion for your dancing spirit. Clear casting's of magic amongst the prolific compositions seams.
The second B2 'Ionian' remix by 'Funton' sweeps you along into a sphere of ambient/ Tech house which draws upon a dreamy atmospheric elevation in its synthesizer use and minimal vocal sample. Funton's remix approach swoops you up gently with its light melodic undertones and minimal soaring synth parts which incrementally grow as the composition guilds forward. The remix remains true to the original resolute base foundation beat and wholly presents itself as a strong, yet delicate, floating beauty amongst the creative realm of Darren Roach's stunning studio works.

Track list - A SIDE - SING WITH ME AA SIDE - SPEAKING JAPANESE
Sing With Me:
Much in the same vein of the Mannheim house sound made popular by artists like Johnny D, Nick Curly, Christian Burkhardt etc..Brett's gives us a deep but driving track centered around an African boy singing. Brett chops the sample up to create a choir of ethereal voices to support the boy's singing. As the track progresses it takes a left turn into weirdville through some dramatic synth tweaks & sweeps. This track is perfect for anyone who likes to dance standing up, with their head down and first firmly in the air.
Speaking Japanese:
Many people will tell you learning to speak Japanese is one of the most difficult languages to learn, and they're right. Lucky for you, Brett has done all the work by translating his message into sound. The core inspiration for this track is based on a sample from a song by Get Physical owner and artist MANDY. They were kind enough to let Brett use the sample and run wild with it. The result is 8 minutes and 12 seconds of over driven 909s, rolling bass lines and a pad so thick you need a fork to eat it. All of this keeps the calm while frantic chatter and out of this world fxs take you to a Japanese after party somewhere in Shibuya.

A1 / Not going back - original mix A2/ Not going back - Jay tripwire remix
B1/ Not going back - Grant dell's euro mix.
GIANT'S first release is from the south coast's underground stalwart MARK ALLISTER. Giant is aiming to bring you a selection of older and up and coming producers who inspire and represent the sound of the label and Mark fits that bill to a tee. Although he has been DJ'ing for over the last 20 years Mark is just starting to venture out into producing, and what a way to start. Not only does Mark create, on NOT GOING BACK, what we would call, a proper old school Tech-House groove, he sings on it to.
The release starts with Mark's original mix - which builds from crisp drum patterns into subtle lush swells and then Mark's vocal drops right after the tripped out break, a sure fired dancefloor track.
The next version is from Canada's finest - JAY TRIPWIRE - Jay really needs no introduction, the man is a legend in his own right and here he delivers what he calls his " Marimba machine redux ' and it's exactly that - A future dancefloor classic for sure.
Next up is GRANT DELL'S version, which see's grant build the track around Mark's vocal and giving the track some more added depth with some kraftwork style keys and synth lines turning out a slick Euro mix.

Selah Sue was not destined to become an artist. "I grew up in a really little town in Belgium, and none of my family was into music," reveals the twenty-one year old, with refreshing sincerity. "As a kid, I wanted to be a ballerina. I danced from the age of six to twelve".
Even without romanticising it, her story is like a fairy tale. It's the story of a young musician who ignores her fate, and pours her anxieties into her songs and her guitar. "I had all these worries and depressions that I wrote down, it was a way of structuring my thoughts".
She turns her doubts into soul, funk and reggae melodies, trying hard to be worthy of her idols, Lauryn Hill, Erykah Badu and Bob Marley. She sings in local clubs on the weekend and attends high school during the week. She records in home-studios, at friends houses, and publishes drafts of her songs on Myspace, without a thought of making a career in music.
What happens next seems almost unreal. Thousands of fans respond to her on the net, attracting the attention of professionals, and the interest of Because Music, which eventually leads to a record deal for the young musician. Then Farhot (Nneka) and Patrice take on the production of her first album. Meshell Ndegeocello stays with her in the studio for two days to produce the track "Mommy". Cee-Lo Green agrees to accompany her on a duet and ends up asking her to put the track ("Please") on his own album. And, last but not least, last autumn Prince offered her a coveted support slot at his show in Antwerp, Belgium.
To put it in a nutshell, in just two years, Selah Sue has fulfilled her dreams. To keep her grounded, she has insisted on keeping the songs she wrote during her teens for her debut album. It's a way of reminding the world that she has not been unfairly spoiled by destiny and that before Prince, Cee-Lo Green, radio play and incredible press, there was just a teenage girl, with her guitar, who was chosen spontaneously by fans on the net.
For example, her first single "Raggamuffin" is one of her oldest songs and was viewed more than a million times online. "This track symbolizes me" she explains. "It shows my soulful and singing side, but also my hard side, between rap and ragga. When my manager asked me who I wanted to work with, I said Farhot straight away, as I'm a fan of Nneka. But I also wanted an intimate, dark, melodious record, with light and lively beats. Farhot is crazy about digital sounds and Patrice, who I know well, was the ideal man for the melodious part. They were my two accomplices in the studio."
Her first album is ambitious. It is a smart melting pot between electric rock, organic hip-hop and soul-funk. The twelve tracks shift from poignant ballads like "Mommy" to wilder styles like "Crazy Vibes". Like Janelle Monae, M.I.A. or Aloe Blacc, Selah Sue belongs to a new generation for whom music has no boundaries. Selah Sue will tour her new record in the Spring.

Tristan Disco was an ephemeral Japanese project led by Takayuki Shiraishi (BGM, MLD) focused on making dubbish Post-Punk.
In 1982 they elaborate a no-wave full of unrehearsed breaks and cavernous vocals. Boundless dark jamming sessions through shades, effects and reverbs always submerged by a tense nervous bassline.
On the B side Krikor delivers a hard-hitting Industrial reconstruction of "Social Dance" perfect to shatter your brain.
Retakes from the mysterious ambient artist Civilistjävel! are more brooding.
Introspection and faded horizons are the main purposes here but a glimpse of hope still glow.
