Firstly we have the don of the Russian techno scene Andrey Pushkarev transforming it into a ultra-deep hypnotic voyage. The Icelandic techno youngling Waage brings his hallmark dub influences and creates an after- hours delight from the source material. On the flipside, it starts with a remix from the brothers Mark & Matt Thibideau. The Canadian sensations are on their A-game with this one; creating a delicately structured atmospheric yet groovy take on the original. The release is completed with a deep and trippy remix from the Icelandic dub techno legend Octal Industries.

Thule Records camp is hitting it hard these days. This time it‘s a collaboration between two pioneers within the Icelandic techno scene. On the A-side, we have Static, a hypnotic groove with indistinguishable voices and shimmering dub chords, and Útkall, minimalistic dub techno mantra. On the flipside we have the heavily-rhythmic Sedna, where the drums and bass compliment each other in such a way that it might cause involuntary muscle movements, and at last Timelaps, a delicate minimalistic voyage. Ohm is best known for his releases on Force Inc with Exos. Octal Industries, a veteran who has already gained a respectable reputation within the IDM community under his Ruxpin pseudonym, returns to his origins with this collaboration. Remastered classic release from 1998! Well respected Icelandic label, releasing heavily dub-influenced minimal techno by artists such as Exos, Thor, Octal, Ozy... We have the honour to present you in future some of the best releases re-mastered on vinyl again! The Icelandic electronic musician is a collective animal. He tends to gather in groups. In 1995 with the founding of the label Thule Records the first official herding was confirmed. Icelandic electronic music artists were united under one flag. Though, this particular label was not the first of its kind, they did have a certain agenda of reaching out toward foreign markets – thing rarely been done before in Iceland. The owners of the label bought themselves a cheap and barely functional car outside of London and drove around the city distributing their first release personally – while having to stop the car every 20 minutes to pour water over the engine to prevent it from overheating. That first release became a success and showed that electronic music made in Iceland had much to offer to the European market. Thule Records was a gateway to Europe for many Icelandic artists. A platform of expression for young artists. After almost seven years of activity and about 70 releases the label went on permanent hiatus. It was a starting point for many of Icelands most renowned electronic musicians and is considered to be a pioneer in the field of dub-influenced techno music.
