The label head was convinced by his partner to start production in a basement studio to create a sound using guitars and synthesisers. Fkclub Aka Marc Lapeyre did it again with the Illuminati EP on Astrolab. Mixing modern synth and old school analog sounds to create a dirty, catchy and powerful track : Illuminati. Volta is new wav-ish with its dark synth bass and voice, like Depeche Mode on magic mushrooms. Pilooski’s remix of Illuminati brings the track to a point of dissonance and trippy ARP, where the man show us one more time what a flair he has for it. More

French label ASTRO LAB RECORDINGS has been around for 6 years, releasing vinyls, and now introduces its first compilation on 2CD. As a turning point in its history, the label had to put together a special and exclusive selection, putting forward all its beloved inspirations and influences. This is how the TREASURE HUNTING compilation was crafted. The eighteen tracks on the record are mostly unreleased and composed by fellow artist friends, all part of the ASTRO LAB adventure since the beginning : Andrew Weatherall, Kaos or Timothy J Fairplay… to name a few. All were on board to allow this great project to see the day !
