Tracklist 12":
A1 Main Reprise A2 Beatless Reprise
Short info:
'Le Tchadien', originally released in 2008 on Mr Raoul K's critically acclaimed 12" 'Himalaya', gets the DoubleK# (Mr Raoul K & Kaito) treatment. While the original track was a rather short and lush piece of afro-funk fuelled house, the reprise explores some whole new territories. Soon after the relaxing intro the track takes a sharp turn that leads listeners and dancers into foggy darkness. But instead losing itself and all hope, DoubleK# show that there is light and hope even behind the darkest shadows. It's all about keeping your composure and keeping your head up.
As a special gift for the creative Djs out there, the flipside contains a beatless reprise, ready to be blended with your favorite beats. Enjoy your vinyl.

Mr Raoul K & Mapiko Mweya - A2. Mapiko's Version
Onesided 12".
Tracklist 12”:
A1. Mr Raoul K's Version
A2. Mapiko's Version
Short info:
This time Mr Raoul K is teaming up with fellow producer Mapiko Mweya. They shift Mr Raoul K's usually blend of real westafrican instruments and modern electronic clubsounds towards the electronic soundscape. With the vocals of B'Utiza, they take us on a rollercoaster ride into an urban concrete jungle very reminiscent of the nineteennineties. Voluminous baselines, westafrican drums, irie layers of swirling sounds, long buildups, occasional breakdowns – delivered with a gritty touch.
Mr Raoul K's mix keeps the atmosphere dense while Mapiko goes for a more airy approach - with either mix keeping its rolling groove up until the end. Dance through the darkness until the sunlight creeps through the cellar windows.
Watch out for Mr Raoul K's Album 'African Paradigm' out on Compost Records this summer.

Tracklist 12": A1 Double K - Esprit De La Jungle
Mr Raoul K kept this track a long time in his drawer. He always felt that something was missing. And he didn't want to put out a track he wasn't feeling comfortable with. During a visit of Kuniyuki in Mr Raoul K's studio, he played the track to him. After Kuniyuki proposed some new ideas, they decided to finish the track and release under their new alias Double K...
They have come up with an atmospheric sixteen minute journey with constantly changing atmosphere. Starting off softly, almost tiptoe-ing 'Esprit De La Jungle' begins an expedition into the inner jungle. Accompanied by Kuniyuki's subtle flute and keyboards and graced with Wiltrud Weber's awesome vocals, the track provides constantly changes its mood and is full of surpises. Expect the unexpected after every turn. Mr Raoul K's beats blend in very slowly and do not take over until the very end. Close your eyes on the dancefloor and find yourself exploring the secrets of the unknown, feeling the real Esprit Of The Jungle....

release date: 28,01,2013 barcode: 827170477568 tracklist:A1 Ayoka - Joe Claussel Mix B1 Ayoka - Rootsmix B2 Ayoka - Raoul K's Club Edit
Mr Raoul K finally got one of his personal 'heroes' to do a remix on one of his tracks. Joe Claussel takes 'Ayoka' (taken from 'Neo-Evolution 02') to a whole new level. He adds a lot of jazz-tingend sounds (especially percussion) and athmosphere but manages to keep the overall african timbre of the original. This adds quite a bit of turns and twists to the already epic journey of the original 'Ayoka'. Your trip will now last more the 14 minutes. The flipside hosts Mr Raoul K's own remixes. His 'Rootsmix' is exactly that: Just plain percussion and vocals arranged in a kind of call and response style. Just throw it in the mix. The last track on this release is Mr Raoul K's own edit of Joe Claussel's remix. For those who like their tracks more condensed. Starts off with Claussel's beautiful piano play and before you even know it, the track jumps into full gear. Percussion, bassline and even a little vocal in the back.

Mr Raoul K, - Le Karantkatrieme Peul
Mr Raoul K and Baobab Secret take the next step and put out new remixes of 'Le Karantkatrieme Peul'. Prisme are a Belgian duo (Nicolas Pepinster and Yves Theys) who started to produce their own material in 2010. They liked the title track so much that they remixed it and sent the result to Mr Raoul K who instantly fell in love with the melodic and laid back approach they took on it. This lush piece makes a perfect entry into a long night out, promising that every piece will fall into place. The other production crew featured on this release are the Iklawa Brothers (Mzwandile Nxasana and Sandile Magwaza) who run their own label in Durban, South Africa. They are big fans of Mr Raoul K's work and have been dropping his tunes in their sets on a regular basis. Their remix is a dark, afrobeat driven tune that takes the listener on a long trip into a gloomy world full of surprising musical twists, dramatic changes of mood and impressing string sounds. The last remix is done by Mr Raoul K himself. He shows a new side of his musical skills. Resulting in an epic track that seems to dance on tiptoes around a giant beast. One small step. Hesitate. Check carefully what happens. Do not disturb. Just watch in astonishment how it slowly awakes and stretches out to its full glory. A track that is full of hope, but reminds us to keep our feet to the ground to provide a solid stand.
