One of the coolest techno labels at the moment comes with another fine release. Not the standard 90's loop techno inspired tracks but nice smart raw machine driven House/Techno hybrids full of warmth and energy taking us on a journey to the higher echelons of the dance floor. Recommend!

Irishman John Daly takes a rare break from his One Track label and delivers his magic to the Tanstaafl Planets imprint. Floating house and spacey techno on the b-side that seamlessly merge Daly and TANSTAAFL's aesthetics, while the A-side delivers a pulse-raising new fusion of jacking swing and dubby synths. John Daly cant do much wrong!!

After the success of the first release, Tanstaafl returns for their second wax adventure, this time with the musical renegade Dj October at the helm. October has entered a new phase of production for the TANSTAAFL series and has focused himself firmly on a reduced, stripped and effective formula for the floor. His productions are heavy, smoked out narcoleptic dub infused journey's, and his latest 12 offers more or less of the same opaque vibe but with his sights firmly set on the floor, with one foot in the past and the other in the future - drawing from his usual Detroit, NYC and Chicago influences. So we kick off 2012 with a future classic, 'Singularity Jump', which douses you in synthesized Saxophone hooks, chopped vocal samples and a meaty Juno Hip-House inspired bass-line. 'Planet Of Minds' is more of a inner space affair very much inspired by acid and dub. Successfully combining the two, October injects more of an airy feel into the mix and delivers a mo ody cosmic acid jam that will not fail your dancing feet or tripped-out mind. Definitely one for the later hours... This is going to be an anthem, hands down, so get it before it's gone for good.

October and John Osborn are proud to present the inaugural 12inch on their newly minted Bristol and Berlin based House & Techno label: Tanstaafl records. TANSTAAFL is an acronym for [There Ain’t No Such Thing As A Free Lunch]. We kick things off with John Osborn’s debut release, Epoch 4 backed with a darker, reduced; dub-influenced Version. John based in Berlin worked with October in his Bristol based studio to create and produce some wonderful, raw, dirty analogue house music. Both tracks were meticulously produced by Herr Osborn and recorded and engineered by October. Laurie Appleblim’s joined the studio session and he dove straight into the Juno 60 and played the melody that finnishes the track off. Tough floor business for your feet and mind; tried and tested around the world. A great start for this promising label.
