Luca C & Brigante return under their Invisible Cities guise, alongside close friend Ali Love, for the final installment in their three part single series. Following remixes from Ivan Smagghe and The Mole on the first two parts, ’Sunkissed’ wraps up the series with remixes from Mad Professor and Apiento & LX. Luca C & Brigante first appeared as Invisible Cities on Southern Fried Records in 2011, until 2015 saw them revive the project for a trio of releases on their own Double Drop label. ‘Sunkissed’ sees the collective produce a slow burning single of intricate drum patterns and subtle background riffs, assisted by the floating vocals of Ali Love. Ali Love first collaborated with Invisible Cities on ‘The Beach’ on their first EP release, and returns with another tribute to the eternal summer. Apiento & LX (check their classic ‘The Orange Place’) then manipulate the track towards dancefloor domains using enticing bongos, wonky synths and echoing. Proper ALFOS tackle. Finally, the legendary Mad Professor arrives in a rare remix outing to deliver two imaginative dub versions, which both loop the original’s principle melody whilst stretching it’s aesthetics to give it his own inimitable signature.

Jana Kirschner - a child of the bear and blueberry soaked forests of the geographical Centre of Europe, the land locked land now known as Slovakia; mushrooms, berries, and nuts were her toys, the folk songs of Slovaks, Roma, and the Magyar, her education..... Winning spandex clad dance comps at 8 years old down the local "Dom Kulture" - culture house - disturbingly garish singing competitions by 12, and early forays into songwriting via misguided western wannabe production.... the surest route to 90's era Slovakian stardom. Jana's changed course so abruptly so frequently in her now eight album career no one dare guess her next move, yet with Muzika she's landed, and announced, HERE is music, a celebration, no rules, pompous, bombastic, Day-Glo nonsense, it could only come from central Europe, it should be awful yet it's somehow brilliant, the one single lyric "Muzika" repeats as mantra with Krautrock drums and baroque-esque vocal arrangements and blankets of analogue synths ("Kraut Barock"?!).... What? Why? Because: Musika! That’s why. No more need be said. It will leave no lover of true music behind. On the flip side, the antithesis: Prophet 5 circular pattern from start to close on a slow 3/4, again one single word "Idu" (they're coming or they're going) repeated in up to four part harmony, glossing, and sliding in and out of standard tonality.... an ABABA form where the A is instrumented by cello & clarinet, and the B is taken in turn by Cimbalom and Marimba. Time stands still. A dream rest after the revolution of Muzika is complete.

Luca C & Brigante finally reissue their enchanting edit from 2010, 'Lucio'. Originally pressed in small numbers and soon after unavailable to all but a few discerning gentlemen, it will now be released as DBL000 on Double Drop. We can only hope this is the label's resurrection and that the catalogue number hints to a stream of intimately curated releases of cross genre material - psychedelic beach pop, retro future balearica, analogue gipsy jazz or maybe something from Slovakia. If you haven't been sipping juice to this slo-mo marvel before, carpe diem. 'Lucio' is a marvelous halfway between an edit and a 'cosmic remix', an effortlessly beguiling sonic vignette of transcendental beauty that is guaranteed to enchant the wariest of listeners.
