Buenos Aires-based imprint Unlock Recordings release the fourth instalment of their ‘Collaborations’ series featuring cuts from Ryan Crosson, Jonas Kopp, Guti From Downstairs and more. The stripped back aesthetic of previous ‘Collaborations’ vinyl-only releases have garnered some heavyweight support from the likes of Ricardo Villalobos, Sonja Moonear, Raresh and Laurent Garnier, to name a few. Argentina’s Unlock Recordings present the third and final instalment in their ‘Collaborations’ series featuring Deep Mariano, One + 1 & Camilo Gil, Funk E & Bodeler and Ronan Portela. With the previous ‘Collaborations’ featuring Barem, Jorge Savoretti, Franco Cinelli and Leonel Castillo, Unlock’s established entourage of producers are well known for their distinguishable stripped back approach to house and techno. At the helm of the imprint is Gonzalo Solimano - former ‘Mr. X’ at Red Bull Music Academy and stalwart within Argentina’s thriving scene. Each vinyl release is accompanied by artwork designed by Argentinian graphic talent Gisela Faure. GET SLOW founder Deep Mariano begins the release with ‘From Machines To Jungle’, a percussive roller fuelled by a sultry bassline and hypnotising atmospherics. One + 1 and Camilo Gil then demonstrate intricate drums and looped pads as subtle vocal samples mutter in ‘Bitch Call’ before Funk E & Bodeler introduce glitchy nuances and trippy atmospherics in ‘Playa Den Bolsa’. Various Artist EP ‘Collaborations 2’ from Unlock Recordings, featuring tracks from label head Solimano, Bruno De Vincenti, Christian Burkhardt, Barem and Federico Molinari. Gonzalo Solimano first created the Unlock Recordings imprint back in 2004 as a platform to support Latin American productions, and ever since then the Buenos Aires label has played host to the likes of Guti, Jorge Savoretti and Franco Cinelli. The second instalment in the label’s ‘Collaborations’ series, Solimano now invites German producer Christian Burkhardt to join Argentinian talents Bruno De Vincenti, Oslo Records artist Federico Molinari and Fun Records founder Barem for a split release. First up is Solimano & Bruno De Vincenti’s cut ‘Love Nebulae’ which layers infectious percussion with gentle chord sequences and filtered effects. Christian Burkhardt’s ‘Doog’ then cuts in on a deeper and darker tip, with a low-slung bass groove and hypnotic pad sequences. Up next is Barem’s ‘Funk Duck’ with its rolling percussion, staggered synths and a pulsating low end, before Federico Molinari rounds off the package with ‘2.014.2’, blending dubby bass patterns, chopped samples and frantic synth spirals.

Buenos Aires based label Unlock Recordings kicks off 2016 with the first of a three Various Artist vinyl only series: Collaborations, a combination of some of the label’s artists and friends who joined forces to put out some proper underground house and techno music. This first release includes four tracks by argentinian heroes Leonel Castillo, Franco Cinelli, Fosky and Jorge Savoretti (featuring Romanian fellow Paco Wegmann). ‘Vibraphonistix’ is an exquisite peace of music that blends tripness with a refined bass line that makes clear Leonel Castillo’s production abilities and dub influences. Savoretti and Wegmann’s ‘Din Cartier’ heats things up with its super solid groove and modulating synths. Definitely a peak time player. On the flip, Fosky’s ‘Benefits’ is an evolving, climatic techno track that creates the perfect con- text for Franco Cinelli’s ‘Mindout’, a superb late night techno killer track that will cause some serious damage to the dance floor. Argentina has a rich history when it comes to dance music and Gonzalo Solimano is one of the country's finest electronic flag-bearers. With his Unlock Recordings imprint he's created a heavy back-catalogue that the likes of Barem, Guti, Luca M and Daniel Sanchez have all contributed to. After a short break Solimano is back with his 'Factor H' EP and the original mix is a tropical, cow bell laden treat, one that sums up the nation's sound nicely. On remix duty is both Fase and fellow Argentinian maestro Guti. The producer's last full-length was the jazz-inspired 'Rompecorazones' and now a remix LP is set to follow but here we focus on his amazing edit of 'Factor H'. Guti has maintained the percussive elements of the original but added a significant amount of groove and focused on adding in thick kick drums and more drive. It's one you can imagine on the terraces or at 4am in a darkened room and this is why Guti is such a don. Check it.

Unlock Recordings is an artist family based in Buenos Aires, one of the main cultural points in Latin America. Our main aim is to show the world the music and grooves created by our crew, which is tightly united by the passion for music, culture and art existing in every member, each one of them with their varied influences and personal experiences. For our stellar launching we have FASE, formed by Pedro Perelman and Defi Gagliardo bringing us 'Happy Family Room EP'. On the A-side, 'Body Can Know' kicks the record in with a solid groove and an emotional organic touch that invites you to dance with your eyes closed. 'Fame' come out as the result of a subtle experimentation with vocal cuts of Bowie's track turning it into an hypnotic groover. On the flip, 'Gotta Roll' closes the record doing intense percussive damage, making great use of oriental elements and epic piano breakdowns. Enjoy the music!
