The 5th installment from Art Feast Records comes from label boss Klaaar and local producer Ortella, two of the finest house music producer from Lyon that teams up to deliver 4 groovy and wild house tracks. The two guys have much in common musically, not least a shared love of rough beats, toasting vocals, and funky grooves. A SIDE : KLAAAR - When you hear about KLAAAR, you’d probably assume it has something to do with samples and colourful grooves. On A side, Klaaar, that has featured on all the previous label releases, is playing with funky vocal cuts on « Contemplative Action », and spoken words on « Definition Is », with heart warming beats on each track. B SIDE : ORTELLA - Known especially for his prim-and- proper take on dirty deep house with releases on Rutilance and his own imprint Mad In Lyon, ORTELLA have been delivering consistently great levels of house, and strikes once again on the B-side with his very special rough and deep sound signature. Louse Michel is a more swinging introspective tracks built on mysterious synth chords and groovy snares that are shaped throughout the tune, leaving the rhythmic complexity of snare and hats interplay to provide the greatest sense of development. The space between the sounds and the throbbing pads and siren take us up and down like in a sweet roller coaster. Terrence Parker remix of "Twin Futures" brings a cold and deep thickness to the original bass line, giving it an indescribable Detroit flavour. This bass focused production infused with the kind of high-quality sheen and melodic depth TP has become known for, adding to the original production a reliable four-on-the-floor kick and tasteful layers of spacey synth scape Definitely a dance floor hypothesizer ! Finally Klaaar's remix of "Louise Michel" takes the E P in a totally unexpected direction, offering its own vision, playing with original voice samples and adding some epic pads and shaky percussions.
