The Lost in Time imprint has been releasing bespoke vinyl for a couple of years now. It got off to a flying start with ‘The Moment’ from Ralph Lawson & Chez Damier and kept up the pace with a series of releases from Ralph Lawson alongside production partner Tuccillo including ‘Nightcrawler’. The track has now been picked up and remixed by Denmark’s finest house music export from Oscillat and Delaphine records, S.A.M and One Records Subb-an. S.A.M is fast becoming one of the very best producers of house and dub techno with a string of highly sought after releases on Delaphine that sell out quickly and attract heat on discogs. S.A.M manages to fuse classic craftsmanship with contemporary sounds and has created an epic and atmospheric 10 minute long re-shape for ‘Nightcrawler’. Subb-an needs little introduction as a producer with high integrity and impeccable taste. He’s graced the decks at Panorama Bar, fabric, Detroit Movement, Womb Tokyo, Enter, DC10, D’Edge and of course the legendary Below parties. While he’s always been busy in the studio with releases for Spectral, Crosstown rebels and 2020Vision. Subb-an strips down ‘Nightcrawler’ to it’s very bones drawing out the classic analogue Kurzweil 2000 synth sound to great effect.

The Lost in Time series continues with the fourth release in Ralph Lawson’s new imprint. The label releases timeless music from a collective of maestros including Chez Damier, Tuccillo, Carl Finlow and Debukas. After the recent license of ‘Hold Over Me’ to No 19 Music the crew return to the mothership for ‘Lost on the Island’. A 3 track EP recorded between studios in Leeds, Paris and Ibiza from Lawson, Finlow and Tuccillo. The final mixing was carried out at Unblock studios in Ibiza after a series of excursions to very diverse places on the Island. ‘Nightcrawler' was inspired by a visit to DC10 while ‘Tide' was made for the Underground club and ‘I Don’t Know’ for the beaches of Salinas. Ralph Lawson is best known for his 20/20 Vision label and his live project 2020Soundsystem. Now concentrating on his house music roots with a heavy dub leaning. Fellow band-mate Fernando Pulichino has added bass to both the tracks on the flip side while Carl Finlow from Random Factor supplies intricate layers of classic synth sounds that remind us of something Larry Heard would play. Tuccillo, fresh from mixing his ‘Inside Out’ album on Get Physical is an analogue addict with a massive set up at Unblock HQ. On ‘Nightcrawler’ Tucci rocks the gear with rich, warm, massive sounding bass lines and rasping keyboards. A spattering of vocal hooks round off an EP that is strictly set to smash up the dance-floor while being a joy to listen to.

Ralph Lawson's new Lost in Time series continues with the second instalment 'Lost in Space'. The first edition was well received selling out it's first vinyl pressing very quickly. Lost in Space EP continues the output from Lawson alongside original production partner Carl Finlow and the Ibizan-Italian maestro Tuccillo. The series is the result of over two years in studios in Leeds, Paris and Ibiza. Recorded as ideas in Lawson's 'The Drive' studio the tracks were taken to Ibiza in early 2014 to Tuccillo's entirely analog 'Unblock' studios to embellish, finish and run through his awesome gear. Working to a strict ethos of 100% analog signal, live recordings, real synths and drum machines and a truly dub method, over the course of a single week, the guys completed 16 versions of new material. These will be released on vinyl for the Lost in Time series over the next year. Lost in Space features three new tracks. Two versions of the same theme theme 'Lost in Space' and 'Throb' are no nonsense techno for purists. Insistent Roland TR909 rhythms drive mesmerising synths from Finlow and Tuccillo while the board is worked in a dub style with live drops, reverbs and delays added on the fly. The series is inspired by the classic dub studio sessions of King Tubby. The crew watched and learnt how the King made dubs then applied the process to electronic 'riddims' of their own. On the other side 'Kings' stands proud as a testament to Chicago house music while updating the sound with a fresh modern approach to sounds. Lawson's original vintage Linn Drum got a dusting off and stands at the heart of the beats while Korg, Moog and Juno synths add depth warmth and authenticity. All completed by chants and vocal cuts

Exactly 20 years after the release of the Classic EP Chez Damier and Ralph Lawson entered the studio again. Just as before they only had one day to record, after playing a gig together at back to basics in Leeds. 'The Moment' came out of that session. They didn't plan for it to take that long nor did they plan for the release of 'The Moment' to come out just after the recent re-release of 'Classic EP'. It just happened like that. This makes the choice of track name even more fitting as does the EP title "Lost in Time". The EP has been put together by Ralph Lawson and also features work with another long term production partner Carl Finlow, who produced all the early 2020Vision releases with Lawson. The title track on the flip side is a deeper dub techno workout with powerful atmospheric chords and insistent drums, mixed down in live passes straight from the machines. The EP is rounded off by 'Attraction', a more melodic groove reminiscent of early Prescription Underground with Tuccillo adding layers of analog synths and vibes from his Ibizan studio.
