New York ravers' family favorite Club Night Club announce their inaugural release as a record label. The first offering comes courtesy of Manchester heavyweight Herron. The meandyou founder and Soup Kitchen owner follows up last year's 'Box Of Swords' EP for Peder Mannerfelt with a gritty four tracker aimed squarely at the dance floor. On 'Lowflow' we see him develop similar sludgy Uk techno mutations to his 2016 CO/R collaboration with Joy Orbison, but this time with more explicit peak time intent. The Hi-Fi, sleazy chug core is ever present, but particularly on the A side, a freneticism of breaks pressure and pummeling sound design is let loose. In keeping with the name of A2's Velcro Spider, the record weaves a complex blend of the synthetic and heartfelt. Stumbling, low slung grooves mutate over the course of each track, quietly building and sustaining a tension the listener is unaware of until all hell breaks loose at the last minute in true drug chug fashion.

Meandyou return with the ninth instalment of the collective's record label, this time presenting Manchester cult techno artist J.S. Zeiter. Zeither resurrects his Analog 1 alias for his second outing on the label, after 2012s mini album on the collective's first edition of the TAPE series - the cassette featured original material split per side between Zeiter and Meandyou's Herron. In the late 1990s, J.S. Zeiter reached cult status by releasing a string of dub-infused techno EPs under his SJ moniker, each becoming sought after amongst collectors and DJs. Styrax Leaves recently reissued a number of his classic tracks, including new edits of the previously released tracks. He has released music on his own MCMLXV and JS imprints, as well as Pleasure Music and Phorma. 'Restoration EP' features 3 new productions that float between slow-mo techno and electro, plus the previously CD only track 'Interude 3' that appeared on the acclaimed 'Decade' album.

It's been a while since we last heard from Juniper, the Manchester-based duo who showed much promise with early outings on Underground Quality and the like. Having previously popped up on a various artists 12", they return to the ever-essential meandyou with a strong statement of intent, packing five tracks into an EP that presents their subversive style immaculately. "Indigo Children" is a head-turning cut that fuses uptempo Motor City style electro and techno with industrial tones, while "Life Source Negative" switches stance for a beautiful, craftily constructed drift into woozy deep house. Every track is noteworthy on this release, balancing immediacy and warmth against experimental textures in a way that sits very comfortably on meandyou.

An imperious opening gambit from the Manchester collective's new label: a multi-pronged, vigorous, top-notch, house-techno showcase. The EP chugs straight off to the dance-floor, courtesy of the Juniper duo at its darkest yet (after sides for Ominira, Underground Quality and Smallville), with jamming, filtered synths, echoing claps and vocals, and a b-line stealth attack. A regular at meandyou club nights, Sul makes his recording debut here with a craftily delinquent and unhinged synth-pop... gone quite wrong.
True to form, none other than Kassem Mosse — who played a night back in 2009 — turns in an instant classic, audacious and grimey; before collective mainstay Heron rounds up proceedings with some deep 'n' bleak, spectral techno, bathed in best Basic Channel traditions.
