Bass Culture reach that magnificent milestone of 50 releases with an extra special EP from someone who has become part of label’s inner circle, the infallible Mr G. Set up in 2009 by Paris stalwart D’Julz, Bass Culture Records has maintained a consistently high level of music, crossing from techno into house and back again, always with a focus on quality over quantity. Mr G delivers two special gems from his arsenal of weaponary to mark the 50th Bsss Culture release. The first, ‘Transient’ sees Mr G in contemplative mood, taking a studied approach with this deep, soulful cut. Softened pads are drizzled over a punchy low end, with tough, crisp beats supporting a stirring vocal which urges everybody to get up on their feet. The nineties organ lick gives it an almost sorrowful feel, and those pads continue to takes us up to the skies. A beauty. On the flip, ‘Crumple Zone’ goes straight for the jugular with a driving b-line, alarming stabs and finger-clicking percussion to get that head nodding. Combined with garbled, hypnotic vocal clips, it’s a mesmerising, eyes down cut for the late night heads. Towards the latter part of the track, a naughty riff comes in and adds another layer of sleaze to proceedings. And there you have it, Mr G proves yet again why he’s such a all-round don and Bass Culture celebrates 50 releases with panache. More

Whoever knows of Toi Toi Musik will know they have become synonymous with underground quality and for keeping things close and personal for their events and agency. Well, with their new label it’s no different; they stay very true to their identity (a good mix of English and German) and their quality. The 1st EP is produced by the legendary Mr G. Inspired after playing live at one of their events he wrote the track 'Toi Toi’, which was later released on D’Julz's Bassculture label. As a consequence, his relationship with the couple is so personal he nurtured them to open their own label and offered them 3 tracks for TT01 called 'Much Love EP'. The 4th track is a remix by 'Hello?Repeat' co-owner Daze Maxim, who has been a guest resident for the party for nearly its entire existence.

Back in 2021 Dungeon Meat released a special sample pack called Enter The Dungeon created by Brawther which was all run through his rare 12bit Sequential 440 sampler to give that extra grit that we love. A competition was run to allow producers to submit a track that would potentially appear Weapons Of Ass Destruction vol III. Overwhelmed with submissions Brawther and Tristan da Cunha chose A.M projects track which end up on the WOAD release. However they were left with even more bomb tracks from new exciting artists and decided to a whole EP dedicated to the project. Dungeon Meat are back with a smack. This time they call on the talents of Locklead who delivers an EP bigger than Godzilla’s wedding tackle. B-leave has been one of the most asked about tracks on Dungeon Meat and now it is finally unlocked from the vaults and is seeing the light of day. On top of that it also comes with a DJ tool to get creative with and work in the mix. Dungeon Meat are back with a bang and start 2015 with a mighty slam of the hammer . The 4th EP to come from the dungeons and a special one as the boys enlist one of their long time inspirations POINT G aka DJ Gregory to deliver his first ep for the label . This heavy 3 track collection marks the first collaboration between the Parisian don and Leeds' finest beat butchers . An alliance that will have fans of both artists hot under the collar . DM are very honoured to be the first label outside of POINT G's own imprints to release a full ep from him. Here POINT G delivers a selection of his trademark stripped back club bangers ready to do the damage on any dance floor . Coming from the darkest depths of the South American jungle but raised in the city of Utrecht in Holland, Julian Alexander is a name that might not have fallen on many ears as yet but we guarantee you'll be hearing a lot of this 18 yr old powerhouse in the future. With a background in jazz and a trained multi instrumentalist, exploring Hip Hop and underground House and UK Garage, Julian soon started to craft a unique style and put his own slap and funk into the mix. Focusing on a deep powerful sound with plenty of pound he quickly caught our attention as his meaty, stripped down minimalism explores an even darker chamber of the 'dungeon' . Julian's Hustlin' EP delivers the kind of tracks that keep the floor moving, essential tools that can be the perfect transition or the spark that lights the fuse on on the dance floor. Can you believe he made the track UNDRG at the ripe old age of 16 years old. It really blows our minds to think he made it 2 years ago and it still sounds fresh and futuristic. As with all our releases these jams are tried and tested and proved to be very useful for building the tension and getting those fist pumping. Their solid, track, bass heavy vibe will have no problem bothering even the biggest bass bins. More

After dropping the hammer with Blunt Instruments killer Hold Back EP, Dungeon Meat are back again debuting on their own label with the brain mincing Lose Your Mind EP. Both sides deliver big swings of their mighty axe and hit hard with their signature sound of meaty beats & beefy basslines. Aimed straight at the dance floor it's obvious both the tracks have the intention to crack some skulls and spill some brains. Already road tested by Tristan da Cunha and Brawther at their D.J gigs & their D.M. live show, the reactions have shown that both of these tracks hit the chest and do the damage. As usual though we won't bother describing them, breaking tracks down to each part and trying to use words where they usually fail .... instead we'll let the music do the talking. Also included are two "tools" so the creative DJ's out there can get busy in the mix and give their sets a little meat injection. Dungeon Meat is the new label and production outfit brought to you by Dungeon Masters Brawther and Tristan da Cunha. Packing a serious punch, it's aim is to present tracks designed specifically to rock the party and shake the sound system. Originally conceived as a platform for their own musical visions it soon became apparent that they would have to open the doors to a select few who shared their ambition to make no messing, hard hitting house grooves. One of these artists is the mysterious Blunt Instruments who has the honour of kicking off the label. After road testing his huge club hammer "Hold Back" Brawther and da Cunha knew it had to be on Dungeon Meat as it epitomised exactly the sound they wanted to present. "Hold Back" has been a firm fixture in their sets and even got cut to dubplate by Jeremy Underground Paris. It's not all about the a-side though as Blunt Instruments craft 2 other killer club cuts for the flip side We won't go on too much trying to describe how good this EP is ... instead we'll let the music do the talking.
