Only once in a while you would enter the real magic of House Music. How rare are those club nights, festivals, releases or tracks you get totally mesmerised, you feel like something changed. You want to take home that one party, the sound or a special moment to keep it forever. With Moomin's "The Story About You" we discover exactly this kind of experience. It is an album of uniqueness and transcendence, like a meteorite touching the ground of your own private garden. Sebastian Genz aka Moomin never intended to reinvent House Music as his productions come from the heart and are related to the lovely people's dancefloor. That's what gorgeous parties and releases of the White Label around Oskar Offermann and the Smallville imprint taught him: Real House Music is only possible within a soulful surrounding. Motivated and heartful so-called promoters but more friends and labelmates meet a sweet and open crowd to create their own little universe. With that inspiration Moomin is able to built an enchanting sound and wonderful tracks, stories for lovely people, "The Story About You". What we love about instrumental House Music is that reduction of groove and loop to the essential. A hypnotic theme that could last forever, giving a night its colour and deepness. The secret is not only his skills on quite an enormeous selection of vintage analogue machines, wether it is the holy Roland instruments Tr 606, 808, 909, the Roland Alpha Juno, an SP 1200 or a Korg Poly 61. The addiction of the musician for producing itself keeps Sebastian Genz playing the machines every day and night. After Moomin's releases on Berlin based labels White and Aim, it was just a tiny step to have a first 12inch on Smallville (cat.no. 26), as the friendship and exchange between those imprints has quite a history. The Smallpeople aka Just von Ahlefeld and Julius Steinhoff and labelmate Lawrence immediately fell in love with those tracks. The idea of an debut album was born- touching, moving and deep like the ocean.

After his big first album "The Story About You" and a number of beautiful works on his own imprint "Closer", he was already back on Smallville's new little baby "Fuck Reality" to deliver a 12" for the 2015 summertime. Of course Moomin was also part of the Smallville 10 years Compilation "Smallville Ways" and delivered again for Smallville 46. Now he appears with another string of beauty- A Minor Thought. There will be a lovely fullcover artwork package with printed Inlays for the vinyl version by Smallville's one and only Stefan Marx.

2018 Repress in black double hole sleeve

After his releases for White and Aim, Sebastian Genz aka Moomin gets ready for his debut album on Smallville Records in late autumn 2011, this time with a remix done by his buddy Oskar Offermann of White. Sweet Sweet introduces the tenderness of Moomin's deep diving sound- as if a whole magic night with lovely music and beautiful people could be expressed in just a few minutes- this magician of sound and texture compresses those feelings in one single track. And with this sweet teaser Moomin makes us wait patiently for the upcoming album. Can we wait a little longer?

Smallville Record sub-label Fuck Reality returns in March 2024 with Fossar’s ‘Make Me Feel’ EP.

The Fuck Reality imprint founds it origins in 2015 as a sub label of the widely lauded Smallville label with a heavy focus on classic House music. The label kicked off with the reissue of Westbam and Nena’s iconic ‘Oldschool Baby’ with remixes from Smallpeople and Gerd Janson before going on to release music from Smallville staple Moomin, Frantzvaag – who also release the first album on the label last year - and more. Here the label welcomes Fossar, co-founder of the Feuilleton imprint, onto the imprint with his new EP.
‘Good 2 Me’ opens with airy chords, robust toms, flickers of resonant synth stabs and soulful vocals running atop snappy drums before ‘Free’ embraces a classic 90’s New York aesthetic with heavily swung percussion a jazzy bass groove, emotive piano lines and warm vocal chants.
The B-side is then kicked off with ‘Make Me Feel’, diving deep with shimmering, expansive leads, looped vocal, swirling string melodies and a classic bumpy bass and snare combination. The ‘Aeriel (Windy City Version)’ then rounds things out, as the name would suggest nodding to the Chicagoan roots of House and employing all the classic tropes from slick flutes, intertwined keys, glistening piano melodies and shuffled 909 drums.

Well, who would have thought: Fuck Reality seems common sense out on this world in the year 2022. And so the Smallville-offshoot comes along with the very first album ever- we are happy to present the debut longplayer from Frantzvaag, hailing from Oslo, Norway. The album comes with a full cover by Stefan Marx and the first edition includes a special 60x60 cm poster!

Electronic Dance music, particularly House and Disco have a huge history in Norway and there are various producers, that have made themselves a name worldwide. Mats Frantzvaag is one of the fresh face of the local house-scene, after 12“ releases on Fuck Reality and Full Pupp, he finally presents his own vision in full-length. Always with a fresh beat, 'Solo Super' paves its way with reduced-but-euphoric house, breaky feels, trancy pops and twinkling outta-this-world-moments, smoothly blent together into a colourful entire.
