Stratford-raised Denai Moore signed to London independent label, Because Music (Metronomy, Little Dragon, Django Django…) and then Ben Drew was in touch; he'd heard a couple of Denai's songs and wanted to work with her on production, eventually producing The Lake EP in 2013 (he's since signed her to his publishing company.). A much vaunted solo spot on the BBC's Later… with Jools Holland followed, Denai commanding a grand piano under the studio spotlight. "This girl's really special!" remarked a YouTube commenter days later. Special indeed.
To discuss influences is to give very little indication of what route Denai was to take or indeed has ultimately taken. She's as passionate about the music of Joey Bada$$ and Tinashe as she is of Bon Iver, Kendrick Lamar, and Foals. Raury's music excites her, whilst James Vincent McMorrow contributed to a track on her 'I Swore' EP. Denai's cover of Band of Horses' 'Part One' was heard by the band and her version re-recorded by them. At the tail-end of last year, it came as little surprise that Denai's distinctive soul voice could be heard on SBTRKT's acclaimed 2014 album, on the track 'The Light', which she co-wrote with him. Denai recently completed a UK and European tour in support of and in collaboration with him.
Fresh from those album sessions, the captivating 'I Swore EP' drew 2014 to a melodic close and gave a hint as to what's to come. Denai (aided solely by piano) performed a live session on Huw Stephens Radio 1 show at the tail end of the year, whilst the EP's title track was lauded as BBC Introducing Track of the Week on 1Xtra.
These songs at their rawest in subject matter are united by heartbreak, testing times, and impending opportunity, all written and performed by a young woman with the world at her feet and her expectations looking up to the stars. Produced predominantly alongside Rodaidh McDonald (The XX/Sampha/Daughter) at his XL Studios, the space and atmosphere that revolves around Denai's beautiful vocal makes for a chilling, intoxicating and quite beautiful listen.
Barely into her twenty-second year, Denai has achieved plenty, but in real terms, has barely begun in reaching an audience that could realistically crossover any makeshift divide or genre specifics.

Denai Moore has announced details of her forthcoming EP and new live shows, including a headline gig at St Pancras Church. The follow-up to May's debut EP 'Saudade', 'The Lake' EP was recorded in London and Paris with producer's Ben Drew (aka Plan B) and Renaud Letang (Feist, Gonzales, Manu Chao). Lead track 'The Lake' - produced by Drew - has a soulful, melancholic beauty that is profoundly moving, illustrating why Denai's peers are getting so excited about the 19 year old from East London. A natural and instinctive songwriter, she penned all the tracks on the EP - there are no co-writes.
Denai Moore's immense talent was obvious from the moment she posted the sparse, haunting 'Flaws' online at the end of 2012. Picked up by a host of influential blogs, the track also brought Denai to the attention of Tom Odell, who invited her to support him on his headline tour in May. Born in Jamaica but raised in Stratford, Denai Moore has been creating music since she was 7. Thanks to a youthful obsession with Lauryn Hill, Denai learnt about crafting songs infused with honesty and pure emotion. More recently, her love of artists like Bon Iver, Feist and James Blake, has led her to write the kind of soul searching, heart-on sleeve, disarmingly honest songs that have been know to make grown men cry.

Who is Denai Moore ?
Denai Moore is a ninety years old girl, born in Jamaica she lived in Stratford the untrendy part of East London. She has been writing songs on piano and guitar since she was a child and performing at open mics since the age of 13
How was she discovered ?
When she was younger people thought her dad was writing her sings because the lyrical content was so mature and deep for someone her age. Her parents told her to stop performing and concentrate on
her studies, when she graduated from school she went back out on the open mic scene. It was there that the artist Clare Maguire spotted her talent back in the beginning of 2012. Clare said she saw her sitting and waiting for her turn to play and knew before she even started that she was a genius, she wasn't disappointed. Clare brought her manager to see Denai and everything happened from there.
What are her influences ?
She loves all music, when she was younger she listened to a lot of american bands like Fall out boy, Paramore, teenage stuff. As she grew up she got into John Mayer, James Vincent Mcmorrow, James Blake, Bon Iver. She still listens to a lot of indie rock and is a huge fan of british bands like Foals, Everything Everything, Metronomy.
What is the future ?
She is working with Because Music on her first EP will be released on the 22nd of April in the UK and during the month of May in France.
She already released one video clip for her first single "Gone" and an acoustic session of another song called "Part 4".

According to the artist, "Improperies- compositions et enregistrements magnétiques (1984-2024)" is a music puzzle which doesn't obey to any rule with the exception of Pascal Comelade's creation and art thoughts that kept moving over the years.
Limited numbered to 500 copies - 6 x Black Vinyl in spineless sleeve, heawyweight cardboard slipcase/custod numbered at the back, includes an insert-photo signed by the artist. The boxset artwork is an original creation by Miquel Barceló.

I discovered the Beta Band, like I discovered a lot of great music, basically through eventually surrendering to the enthused urgings of a mate who was cooler than me. He continually evangelized about the EP's. I was lost to the concert hall and firmly ensconced on the dancefloor by then and highly resistant, but quite taken by the idea that a band would bring out extended plays rather than singles. When I did check them out, I was instantly smitten by their originality and power.
The band, therefore, were pivotal for me in terms of my own musical journey, in that they represented a gateway back into indie guitar music, which I'd basically given up since becoming obsessed with rave and acid house.
The Beta Band were definitely a band for the cool cognoscenti- like my buddy- the ones you make a bit of a tit of yourself trying to convert quite straight boring people to.
The emotions they induced were a kind of throwback to school days when you were very pompous and prescriptive about what you liked, and derisive towards non believers. It's a testimony to the power of the music that they could take me to the raw state of the younger man.
I took it personally that they didn't hit the mainstream commercial base. At least two of the three albums they made deserved quadruple platinum status. Hot Shots II and Heroes to Zeros are permanently lodged very high in my top one hundred albums of all time.
So, the return of the Beta Band has me moving into the same mode of immature, adolescent anticipation. Everyone should have the Beta Band albums and EP's in their collection. It still kind of annoys me - in fact it bugs the shit out of me - that most of them don't.
And that really is something.

A FIRST ALBUM AFTER SIGNING THE CONTRACT TO RELEASE OUR DEBUT ALBUM, WE WERE SUDDENLY INUNDATED WITH AN OVERWHELMING NUMBER OF TASKS.
TOWARD THE END OF THE 20TH CENTURY,MUSIC PRODUCTION WAS STILL A HEAVILY INDUSTRIAL PROCESS. FACTORIES MANUFACTURED CDS, VINYL RECORDS, AND EVEN AUDIO CASSETTES, WHICH WERE THEN SHIPPED BY TRUCK TO WAREHOUSES BELONGING TO VARIOUS FRENCH MAJOR LABELS. DEDICATED TEAMS BRAINSTOR-MED IDEAS, DEVISED STRATEGIES, AND ORCHESTRATED PLANS TO DISTRIBUTE THESE RECORDS TO SPECIALIZED STORES. AT THE TIME, RADIO, TELEVISION, AND THE PRESS HELD THE KEYS TO SUCCESS.
WITHOUT THEIR SUPPORT, REACHING THE GENERAL PUBLIC, OR EVEN A NICHEA UDIENCE, WAS NEARLY IMPOSSIBLE.OUR FIRST ALBUM AS CASSIUS, SLATED FOR RELEASE IN JANUARY 1999, SPARKED GENUINE EXCITEMENT WITHIN THE VIRGIN RECORDS TEAM. AS A FORMER ARTISTIC DIRECTOR, I KNEW THIS LEVEL OF ENTHUSIASM WAS RARE. FOR PHILIPPE AND ME, STEPPING INTO THE SPOTLIGHT WAS A COMPLETELY NEW EXPERIENCE.
AFTER YEARS OF WORKING BEHIND THE SCENES FOR OTHERS,FOCUSED AND IMMERSED IN THE STUDIO, WE WERE NOW AT THE FOREFRONT, ENTIRELY INCONTROL. THIS SHIFT BROUGHT A WHIRLWIND OF EMOTIONS: AMBITION FUELED OUR FEARS,AND CREATIVE CHAOS OFTEN BLURRED OUR JUDGMENT ABOUT WHEN TO STOP REFINING OURWORK.NAVIGATING DECISIONS AS A DUO, WE QUICKLY DISCOVERED THE COMPLEXITIES OF PARTNERSHIP AND PRODUCTION. WITHOUT MANAGEMENT, WHOSE CRITICAL ROLE IS OFTEN TO SHIELD ARTISTS FROM THEIR OWN TENDENCIES, WE OCCASIONALLY STRUGGLED TO MAKE THE RIGHT CHOICES.

DAFT PUNK'S GROUNDBREAKING ALBUM HOMEWORK HAD JUST OPENED THE DOOR FOR FRENCH ELECTRONIC MUSIC TO REACH GLOBAL AUDIENCES. FOR ARTISTS ROOTED IN DJ CULTURE,THIS WAS A TURNING POINT. FRENCH ACTS WERE FINALLY BEING INVITED TO PLAY AT BURGEONING FESTIVALS AND ICONIC CLUBS. THE BRITISH AUDIENCE WAS THE FIRST TO EMBRACE US, AND WEEKEND AFTER WEEKEND, WE TOURED THE UK.
INSPIRED BY THOSE NIGHTS BEHIND THE DECKS, WE SUGGESTED RELEASING A VINYL FEATURING EXTENDED VERSIONS OF TRACKS FROM 1999. "Rather than a compilation, this record is a summary of what Espionnage has done in the past two years, from the rap 12"s, the instrumental 12"s to the remixes I was given the opportunity to do. The members of The Espionnage Sound System, Yvan from Double Pact included (even if he only appears here on the interlude betweeen "Camille Groult Starr (rmx)" and "Si Tu Savais (rmx)"), have been essential to the label's development as a whole. The Chronowax Distribution staff has been equally vital to a structure primarily dedicated to independent vinyl production. By the way, I have to thank Ulysse Genet who, on top of lending his name to a track title, suggested the name "Espionnage" instead of "Le Cirque Disques" (which was my initial idea) and drew the first logo. Back in December 2016, Jeshi fell asleep whilst driving home from a party at 5am, and he crashed into a park car, only to be woken up by the airbag exploding in his face. This is the inspiration for album two. The new album is a statement of waking up and levelling up from the last period of his life. This is a new era, and full of energy.

Jeshi doesn't run away from fire; he runs with it. The East London artist is on a quest to feel alive in every sense. To him, feeling alive means being present in each experience, no matter how challenging. For Jeshi - who has spent the last few years establishing himself as one of the most exciting voices of his generation - this is what life and art are all about. Chaos, then, is not something to shy away from, but where great ideas are born.
Jeshi's electrifying second album, AIRBAG WOKE ME UP is a collection of moment-capturing songs built to ignite reactions and start conversations. His scene-stealing jaunts to stages worldwide clearly influence its live-wire sound, as Jeshi and his cohorts smash through moods and tempos like kids let loose on funfair dodgems. "I want to make things that have intent and feel like statements," Jeshi declares. His versatile voice is the conductive thread that pulls everything together. "On Universal Credit, my voice was used in one way, whereas on this it's used in ten ways," he notes.
AIRBAG WOKE ME UP is an exploration into what happens when you emerge from tough times, and how they encourage you to view the world a little differently. Keziah Jones was born and raised in Lagos, Nigeria. Then has been living between Paris - he's been an established & cult musical brand in France - , London and Lagos. He is since the early 90's the creator of the blufunk movement, "a fusion between raw blues elements and hard, edgy funk rhythms. His catalog includes iconic songs such as Rhythm Is Love, Million Miles from Home… Keziah is known for his distinctive style of guitar playing, including his percussive right-hand technique.

He was a game changer in himself, helping both french rap & electro scenes to rise in the late 90’s & early 200’s . 13 years after DJ Mehdi’s sudden death, his long-time friend and Director Thibaut de Longeville imagined & directed the serie, with archives materials & exclusive interviews and words from big names from Rap & Electro about their collaborations & relationships with DJ Mehdi.

“Rather than a compilation, this record is a summary of what Espionnage has done in the past two years, from the rap 12”s, the instrumental 12”s to the remixes I was given the opportunity to do. The members of The Espionnage Sound System, Yvan from Double Pact included (even if he only appears here on the interlude betweeen “Camille Groult Starr (rmx)” and “Si Tu Savais (rmx)”), have been essential to the label’s development as a whole. The Chronowax Distribution staff has been equally vital to a structure primarily dedicated to independent vinyl production. By the way, I have to thank Ulysse Genet who, on top of lending his name to a track title, suggested the name “Espionnage” instead of “Le Cirque Disques” (which was my initial idea) and drew the first logo. Many thanks to my team : Olivier Rosset, Charlotte Dutoit, Thibaut de Longeville, Alexander Wise, the 360 Creative & Marketing teams, as well as X2N, Tom Kan, DJ Gilb’R, Roulé, Crydamoure, Benoît Blue Boy and his daughters Ludella and Amadine ; who have all contributed on one level or another to what this record is. For years, Manu Chao has been travelling the world to meet his fans in unusual venues, villages and small festivals. Elusive, but always accessible to those who cross his path, Manu now presents his new studio album 'Viva Tu', a collection of songs written at the heart of daily lives and struggles, and a fresh take on the state of the world, singing sunny, universal songs in Spanish, French, English and Portuguese, painting an unforgiving picture of social imbalances.
The lead song 'Viva Tu', a heartfelt rumba dedicated to the daily life heroes, has already made its mark. The second single, 'São Paulo Motoboy', is a colorful, sunny ode to the two-wheeled delivery people venturing the Latin American metropoles every day.
The album, to be released September 20th, also features some memorable collaborations, including 'Heaven's Bad Day' with country legend Willie Nelson and 'Tu Te Vas' with rising French rapper Laeti.
