Straight off the bat ‘Be Yourself’ takes you on a sensuous journey around the disco cosmos. Interplanetary echoes, stratospheric strings and a bass and brass beamed down directly from the outer galaxy are brought together with those heavenly vocals alluring any lost souls.
‘More’ follows up – a hair raising, funk fuelled edit combining luscious vocals, a badass bassline and the kind of guitar riffs that will leave you straight up salivating for more. This is peak time, delectable disco with an added umph and rhythms that are kind to the discerning DJs out there.
Closing out the EP Frank slows things down to galactic chugger territory, marshalling the funky starship to the underground with the pied piper of supercharged jazz flutes leading the dance.

Frank Booker is back down in the basement for the 3rd release on his hot new vinyl only imprint. The main man himself delivers the A side cut, which is a classic Booker style disco jam. By now standard Booker ingredients are served - super tight drums, funky bass, big strings, joyous horns, a wild piano riff - and the whole affair climaxes with a joyous vocal hook. Irresistible stuff!

On the flip side, Frank's compadre Dicky Trisco drops another serious disco weapon that is guaranteed to kick-start any party with its chunky, funk-inspired sound.
Absolutely ready to tear up the dance floor at any moment, it is again the keys that really seal the deal here.

3 reworks from Antipodean DJ and Producer, Frank Booker. First up is the monster reworking of King Sunny Ade's afro biggie Synchro System, originally released in 1983 and taken from the album of the same name. Things are turned into a mid tempo 4/4 house shuffler with a killer groove and dope arrangement. The guitar lines, horn riffs and vocal hooks will have you gripped and holding on for dear life, but the real winner here is the groove that underpins the whole shebang which just glides along and takes you with it for a highly enjoyable ride.......This will be causing all sorts of commotion on dancefloors near you soon, you have been warned ! On the flip we have Frank's take on Fela Kuti's Egbe Mi O. Again, a low slung 4/4 house groove sits under this Fela classic....All sorts of Afro goodness are diced up (including the ace Ginger Baker percussion) and lovingly strung back together turning this into an instant mid-tempo house classic.. Rounding things off is a cheeky cut n paste track, People Must Jam named after the Sydney based Disco party. It sits somewhere between P-Funk, Roller Skating Jam Disco and House, an achingly infectious filtered groove teases and then teases some more sealing this fine 3 tracker off with a winning smile. New Zealand based crate digger Frank Booker invites good friend Julien Dyne to drop the second release on his new imprint Down In the Basement.
JD picks up where The Man Called Booker left off on Vol 1 and gets straight up to speed cutting up rare boogie, disco and Afro jams and employing his trademark raw cuts in an old school style, while lacing oodles of FX 'n stuff into the mix. The overall sound is reminiscent of the early Idjut Boys material, which is so close to Mr Booker's heart. More
