Countless soul and funk sides were produced, cut and released by label founder Henry Stone and his associates, in turn changing the face of contemporary black music in the USA and across the world forever. It is true that the TK story originated on America's 'Space Coast', the modern frontier of lunar exploration and galactic travel, the home of NASA and countless missions beyond the stars nestled on the East Coast of the United States.

'Moon Ride' - The compilation you hold in your hands, is merely one strand of the incredible music that was beamed out of Hialeah, FL over the decades. The focus on this collection is the idea of the 'cosmic' from the Disco era. These are records that emit a spacey vibe, either from their lyrical content or equally from their sonic qualities, imbibing synths and electronics to create otherworldly grooves. These records were big hits on underground music scenes such as Daniele Baldelli's cosmic movement in the 70's and 80's in Lake Garda, they were vehicles of escapism and hedonism on the discerning dancefloors of NYC in the hands of progressive DJs like David Mancuso and Nicky Siano and they were also essential building blocks in the creation of House and Techno music in the Midwestern cities of Chicago and Detroit, inspiring legendary artists such as Mr Fingers and Jeff Mills and countless others. With 45 years in the DJ game under his belt and having played endless gigs all over the world during that time it's safe to say Mr.K knows exactly what he's doing when it comes to the re-edit thing! With unprecedented access to TK's vaults Danny has been turning in some stellar reworkings as of late and the cuts included on this latest instalment keep the quality sky high! On the A-side Mr.K kicks off with a heavyweight edit of a stone cold b-boy / club classic! The legendary, late Ralph McDonald's (RIP) 'Jam on the groove' has long been a staple source of nourishment for hungry samplers and it's stripped back, calypso influenced percussion breakdowns have found themselves being cut up by numerous DJ's at clubs and block parties since it's original release in 1976. Here, Mr.K brings that killer breakdown right up front, rearranging the track in a way that gives us all the meat! This is a truly pared back edit, those with keen ears will recognise a wealth of samples that have been jacked from mr McDonald's drum-kit. This is one cut you can either hustle to or head-spin to! Jo Bisso's unique Disco sound has long been popular with fans of underground dance music, his long percussive cuts have always done the business for DJ's who dig deeper for their sounds giving Bisso some cult "hits" under his belt. "Love somebody" was originally released in 1977 and clocked in at a staggering 16 minutes across 2 separate parts on the LP. Step in editing royalty Danny Krivit, who blesses us with yet another essential Disco weapon in the form of his punchier, stripped back edit of this monster cut. As usual with a Mr.K edit all the right parts have been left in, everything's been touched, reworked, extended and tweaked in just the right ways, the only way a master knows how! “The upcoming release is about the ‘Interconnection’ between different senses, for example sound and touch: when sound becomes vibration our perception enhances,” says Enrico. “The track creates a metaphor of the concept using a voice and a synthesizer that playfully evolve and merge into each other to become one, while still keeping their distinctive identities. ‘Interconnection’ is a track made for the dancefloor, a place where all our senses come together and go beyond the auditory experience, becoming a multisensory experience where we're all... interconnected.” As a producer Enrico Sangiuliano has done it all, from remixes of classics to chart topping techno tracks that range from deep and dark to more melodic and euphoric. Djrum's first release since 2019, the Meaning’s Edge EP is an introduction to a whole new world. For the artist also known as Felix Manuel, it was created in the final stretches of six rather traumatic years work. Having carefully honed his techniques and aesthetics, and learned some hard-won emotional lessons over this time, finally he began to work in a quicker, lighter fashion – and to cleanse his palate a little by bringing in a fresh ingredient: his own flute playing. For listeners, though, it will serve as an appetiser, a way into the delights and complexities of this new phase of his creativity. It’s a serious work in its own right, mind. The use of flutes – including Bansuri, Shakuhatchi, Western Classical, and synthesised all blending and blurring into one another – gives it a coherence and a sense of airiness that unites the five tracks over half an hour, however divergent their beats get. And as in all his music, Felix’s whole life is in here. Ethnomusicology studies, untold hours of DJing everywhere from the gnarliest squat raves to the most rarefied deep house clubs, explorations of his own neurological and emotional makeup, and the technical finesse of someone who is never not creating music or art, all roll into an experience that’s dazzling, delightful and keeps on giving. Just the opening track ‘Codex’ alone touches on OG dubstep, Aphex Twin-like braindance, post-classical exploration, movie themes and more. The gentle tones and melodies that rise up out of it perfectly conjure Felix’s running theme of a protective bubble that provides a sense of safety and tranquillity even as the beats and acid gurgles and spurts all around it conjure up the slings and arrows of life’s difficulties. He returns to Rekids as one of its core artists, joining CJ Baker, a producer known for EPs on Innervisions, Emissions Lo-Fi, Well Rounded, and many more. Founded in 2005, their Kingpin Cartel alias has released on Nic Fanciuli’s Saved Records as well as Mark Broom’s Rewired, Pure Plastic, and Beardman imprints, now landing on Radio Slave’s ?agship label with the ‘Long Dark Soul Of The Night’ EP.

CWPT welcomes Acopia to the label with a reissue of the cult Australian bands self-titled sophomore album, available on vinyl outside of Australia for the first time. Based in Melbourne/Naarm, Acopia’s music is a careful control of tension and release, sparseness and warmth, momentum, and space. Across ten tracks, the band’s three members move across post-punk lamentation, shoegazing DnB, smoldering trip hop and subdued electronic pop, as they carve out their own hazy world of romanticism and restraint. The highly anticipated follow-up to the band’s stellar 2022 debut, ‘Chances’, this is a deeply emotionally sensitive record, equal parts refined and relatable, and a listening journey that is immediately understood while revealing new layers with each subsequent listen. Alongside the physical release of ‘Acopia’, CWPT will also release two digital-only remixes of the band, courtesy of Daniel Avery and JD Twitch.
