Whenever Good Guy Mikesh drops new material on Riotvan, you'd better prick up your ears. Even though it's been a while already, his last Riotvan release "No Other" in collaboration with Filburt still makes our ears ring as one of the most unchallengeable house hymns of the last years. The current EP admittedly triggers the craving for sing-alongs a bit less. Instead, it formulates a self-confident outline of a very own electrified and blurred conception of the term house in all kinds of shades.

Release Info:
Our little Dirt Crew sub label Spiel started out in late 2013 with three excellent releases, the first two by "Clancy" featuring remixes by "Urulu" and "Prins Thomas" followed by a stellar EP from "Mercury". After a hiatus SPIEL
is back for 2016. Renewed and inspired we have a bunch of both fresh faced and established artists on board packing quality releases for the year. With sounds spanning from Indie Dance and Electronica to Disco and spaced out Balearic jams, we're proud to present you the first of our outings for 2016.
First up is close friend and rock solid producer "Good Guy Mikesh". Out of Leipzig, Germany, he's the guy with the Perfect pitch, forward thinking ideas, an impressive discography of 12"s to his name, and a huge range of influences from funk and soul, to 80's new wave electro and back again. He's come to the table with four tracks we've been busting to share with you.
'Whim' is the steady builder. Spacious and very much alive with sliding leads and layers of analogue synths that sparkle, it's melancholic bliss, it's a deep breath inducing, dance floor lifting, thought provoking piece of beauty. 'Why Not' is something deeper, the bass slips and slides dancing with the top line, while a palette of plucked strings, tuned percussion and Mikesh's signature synth soundscapes reach into the distance as the track continues to roll.
On the B side, 'Cookie' is joyful, its playful keys and poolside energies toast to warm weather and good times. Bouncing arpeggios lead the charge in the break, rising before giving way to euphoric synthetic strings which lead us back into the elated refrain. 'Corone' hints towards Mikesh's disco history, boasting a burly bass and a funk all of its own, this indie dance shaker's got a solid groove and vibe to spare.
A listening pleasure and a dance floor treat, Mikesh's far reaching and assured musical vision is inescapable on this record. The perfect welcome back for SPIEL.

After stumbling across Good Guy Mikesh and making an edit of his track 'Freddy' - Maceo Plex delved deeper into the back catalogue and decided he was bona fide Ellum material… One demo request later and the 'From Another World EP' was born. A trio of original tracks, one of which features production partner Filburt, it's dark, beautiful and warm music for cold winter nights. A-side and Maceo Plex edit of 'A Place Of Love feat. Filburt' is a disco-laced chugger with deep bass and epic strings, 'On Patrol' is a slow building languorous affair with flickering machine fuzz while 'Holy Day' brings some big drums into play with a ghostly soundbed of chimes and FX. Good Guy Mikesh is a DJ and live artist from Leipzig, Germany who is often found collaborating with fellow German producer Filburt. Fusing lush, disco-laced house with an accessible heartbeat, the artist has appeared on prestigious labels such as Permanent Vacation, Mirau and Liebe*Detail. 'From Another World EP' is his first solo works in 4 years. Good Guy Mikesh is also co-founder of the label Riotvan and frontman of the band Here Is Why. They released their debut album 'HRSY' in 2012 and did a collaborative EP with Adam Port (Keinemusik/Berlin) in May 2013. This summer Mikesh presented his first solo live show at the legendary German club Robert Johnson. Also part of the duo Good Guy Mikesh & FILBURT, the pair have recently remixed The Blaxploited Orchestra on Compost as well as 'Private Drive' by Few Nolder and Kris Menace feat. Robert Owens. Original productions came in 2012 on Permanent Vacation and Riotvan. Filburt is also a solo producer in his own right and releases music under the alias Smooth Pilots. Both artists intend to concentrate on solo productions for the coming year.

After Panthera Krause spent the last years smoking at the window or travelling through your speakers with Marbert Rocel and Karocel, he now releases his solo debut Yorikke on Riotvan. It comes as a 12-inch vinyl (300 copies limited edition) . Three own tracks clearly show that he's able to dash the groove to the ground and to collar it with disco and house pearls. It's not just that, the EP contains a vinyl-exclusive piano version of "Summer Breeze" and a chilly remix by Llewellyn aka Lake People as well as a cover made by Panthera Krause himself. To cap it all the digital release comes with a bonus remix by Good Guy Mikesh. Panthera Krause on Riotvan - stunning!
