For the 8th instalment of To Rack & Ruin we see the long awaited return of Neil Diablo this time dropping the 'Evil K'Neil' moniker from used for the first 2 volumes of the edits series. First up on Foreva Neil skilfully chops up a little known raw 122bpm proto-house disco jam which has sumptuous boogie bassline, choppy stabs and a wonderful soulful female vocal extended and edited for dance floor delight. On the flip is Love Ma Gin. A glittery disco affair with a heavy bassline and glamorous strings which builds and builds. Early DJ support come from Crazy P, Pete Herbert and Emperor Machine.

Neil Diablo - We Can
After indulging in a little free movement over the first two releases, Vol. 3 sees us back in blighty, hanging loose with a hometown hero!
Way before our bongos had really begun to beat, Neil Diablo was slaying the hand-stamped edit scene with razor sharp disco reworks on his To Rack & Ruin imprint.
His energetic and effervescent sets at El Diablo's Social Club were the stuff of legend and his occasional appearances behind the Piccadilly Records counter helped pack the TD racks with some of our favourite floor fuel. Here, our newest Drum Chum digs extra deep with a triple threat of balmy Afro-disco, comic book funk and disco uplift.
Loose-limbed and laid back, 'High Emotion' stretches out across the whole of the A side leading the kind of slow motion dance we can't get enough of.
Potent polyrhythms underpin scratchy rhythm guitar and slick slap bass while that echo-laden vocal just keeps lifting us higher and higher.
The B side bounces into being with the synthed-up strut of 'Sex-N-Drugz', a portal into a parallel universe where Prince painted the Compass Point Paisley and the tempo never exceeded 100bpm - it's tropical pop served cooler than Kia-Ora.
The finale comes with the misty eyed magic of 'We Can', a triumph of snapping Italo snares and boogie optimism which shifts into bliss via a totally tops off chorus.
Keep the cowbell ringing folks!

Those disco specialists at To Rack & Ruin are back in business, kicking off their 2016 campaign with an absolute scorcher from Moscovite producer Phil Gerus. After making waves with a string of releases for the likes of Futureboogie and Sonar Kollektiv, Gerus arrives at the Mancunian edit institution in fine form, ready to take over the world with a quartet of fully loaded floor movers for all you dancing fools. Going hard and heavy from the off, Phil introduces himself with the tumbling toms and zero gravity sequences of 'Delicious Wishes', a neon tinged reshape of an Angelic original. Working the loops and FX like a pro, the Russian sprinkles space dust all over this camp cosmic classic, packing a whole host of extra oomph in the warp drive! "Bossy Lady" Phil turns his attention to Italo, setting pulses racing and feet stomping with the space age sound of . Playing free and easy with the pitch control, the Moscow magician conjures up a space disco body mover complete with tripped out vocals, chunky guitar and nebulous synth lines. Sticking with the moods and grooves of the Mediterranean, Over on the flip we have "Stop! Let's Slow Down" powering into the peak time in a shimmer of sequins as it supercharges a boogie vintage for the modern DJ. The finest floor shaking boogie reheat since Tiger & Woods last hit a hole in one, this is gonna raise the temperature at any party worth its salt. Phil takes us home with a spaced out version of an all time Italo classic. Reworking the percussion and looping up that low slung baseline, our host supercharges the groove for modern club deployment, rounding off another essential release from your favourite edit imprint.

Speeding through the neon sky and hunting replicants everywhere...Deckard makes his debut on To Rack & Ruin. First up is Sean Lives which, stomps along with enough guitar twangs and honky tonk piano chords that would make this cut sound right at home at a James Brown after party. A catchy vocal throughout before an almighty breakdown that sneaks in one of the finest saxophone solos heard since that guy in The Lostboys. On Rustic Rage Deckard joins Paper Recordings' debauched debonair of disco Flash Atkins taking in a lesser known cut from "The Man In Black" himself. We start things off with a solid 4/4 kick alongside a guitar loop that build n builds n builds like a dance floor locomotive albeit one that's draped with squelchy synths & popping percussion before dropping with vocals that's guaranteed to cause hand blisters from a serious clap along...

To Rack & Ruin comes thundering your way slap bang in time for Summer courtesy of our Italian disco brother in arms DJ Rocca and his compardre N2B. The usual high standard of sounds are as present as ever on the 6th instalment of our edits and reworks imprint. Get Up hits you with a rolling bassline that brims with plenty of pant flapping groove & wah wah guitar licks before that ever so familiar vocal kicks in for a full on Reggae Disco workout. Weird Safari certainly lives up to its name - a stripped back, dark & almost Techno sound, alongside tinkering percussion and spaced out wild animal noises surely make for a weird safari. Dubby Pino has you from the off, all the foot stamping & money shaking elements are present - hooky guitar, fat bass loop, infectious percussion, soulful vocal licks and a gorgeous little piano break. Mr Rossi's Backpain starts off by getting the award for the best song title we've ever had on Rack & Ruin, but as well as that it's in the proper groovy dance floor tackle category with a bassline & guitar that commands your respect and then when the 4/4 kicks in at 1 min, well just have a listen.
