Four Thirty Two, the new record label directed and curated by Richy Ahmed, reveals its second release this Spring with a fantastic new single from Luca Cazal. Out on vinyl & digital in April, ‘Be Alone’ is backed with collaboration with Italian producer, Andrea Fiorito. Cazal has previously released music on Crosstown Rebels, Classic Music Company and his own See Double label, and once again displays his house music credentials on this Four Thirty Two release. His understanding of club music runs deep; knowing what makes a dancefloor tick is an essential skill for any producer, and Cazal’s DJ residency at the Paradise DC10 club nights and regular gigs at Circoloco keep him firmly in tune and adept at carving out modern and fresh party moments. ‘Be Alone’ is an inspiriting, rolling house track that builds steadily over its tenure. A filtered vocal hook unfurls over tension building strings and nimble keys, the hi-hats assuredly rattling over rolling snare fills and with the energy levels never dropping, Cazal serves up a cracking club cut with all the hallmarks of a filtered house classic in the making. The infectious house grooves keep coming with ‘Manali’, with Cazal partnering up with Andrea Fiorito (Cynosure) for a no-nonsense, heads down, acidic basement moment. An urgent bassline bounces around the locked groove whilst choppy vocals, haunting synths and energetic percussion all hustle for prime position in this lively and effective track.

As its name suggests ‘Afromance I’ encompasses Luca Cazal's African ardor with upbeat vocals and a heady rhythm for an energetic cut of disco influenced analog techno. Brigante proposes a couple of dj tools to the release. 'Kehinde Tool’ where the vox is chopped and raw sounding percussion joins a subtle sub-bass throb, as opposed to the more electronic tipped 'Taiwo Tool’ that enforces a playful hook and intricate drum work. Lastly the Disco Mix of ‘Afromance I’ puts more emphasis on wailing vocals and an injection of funk to generate a feel-good dance floor viber.

To listen to Luca Cazal describe his forthcoming EP; his first solo offering after being involved in some of the biggest and most profile releases of recent times, including Infinity Ink, Luca C & Brigante, Invisible Cities and of course global mega outfit Hot Natured, is to eavesdrop on a producer breaking through with a singular vision, taking aim directly at the dance floor. "With my first EP I wanted to show different sides of my musical output, whilst keeping to the spectrum of club music" says Luca. With a vault of various studio projects to his name, Luca embarks on a quest of self-discovery with his first solo release on Crosstown Rebels. "I seem to have found myself involved with so many different projects in recent times so with my EP it was liberating to be left to roam free." he continues. Title track Mariri is a voyage of tightly programmed classic tech-house that reaches its apex amongst its echoing eerie vocals. Indeed the vocal started life as a field recording made by Luca in Peru, a constant inspiration in his work. The bare murky beats of the EP's lead track are remixed by Detroit mainstay Stacey Pullen with further rasps of raw production. Continuing to hover on the edge of techno, the analogue offering "The Bullfrog", co-produced with Hot Creations new talent Mark Jenkyns, projects the EP further onto the dark dance floor. Ending with his collaboration with BL_NK SP_C_S, Luca adds the perfect tone to the passion filled vocals, that expertly wraps this exciting and varied EP. Where there is little doubt that Luca Cazal's past productions helped forge his musical foundation, this EP of elegant simplicity, strengthens not only the freewheeling spirit of the scene's leading independent label, but is the perfect showcase for the rapidly emerging Luca Cazal.

Following his recent release on the See Double VA, rising talent Josh Baker finds a home once again on Luca Cazal and Brigante’s imprint with his Explore EP. Original FUSE London resident Rich NxT is also onboard to deliver an elevating remix. First supported by Romanian master Barac, title track Explore is a surefire weapon for the dancefloor. JAXN’s breathy vocals effortlessly complement the peak-time bass and glistening hi-hats. On the B-side, Rich NxT adds a funkier bassline and light keys for his rework of the title track. The EP closes with Black Lines, a more formidable number with Baker employing darker elements into his production. The talented producer explains “ after receiving some exceptional vocals from JAXN, ‘Explore’ wrote itself. I wanted to create a real peak-time song, one suited for all spaces and I’m happy to see it get consistently road-tested at DC10. ‘Black Lines’ is a moodier acid track that I feel compliments ‘Explore’ massively.” Since the tender age of 16, Josh Baker's passion and enthusiasm for house music has grown from strength to strength. The young Manchester producer also curates his own successful night, You&Me, which has since gone on to take place in Leeds, Newcastle and Ibiza. His musical output has garnered support from big names such as Apollonia, Richy Ahmed, Ben Rau and Rich NxT.

See Double, the London based imprint headed by Luca Cazal and Brigante, returns for its fifth outing, a three track EP from Boris Werner titled ‘Badabing Badaboum’. A club-ready package and staple of Werner's recent sets, SD005 once again proves this Amsterdam local’s deep knowledge and understanding of how to move a dance floor.
Played by Seth Troxler and Richy Ahmed amongst others and tried and tested by both label boss Cazal and Werner on DC10’s terrace throughout this summer, title track ‘Badabing Badaboum’ is a bonafide club smasher. Leading the charge with a hypnotic bell riff alongside a chugging 4/4 pulse, Werner keeps a driving pace as sluggish and evolving low end theory enters the fray. A deftly constructed, energy filled arrangement progresses before indiscernible, tribal vocal chants take the fore, trading blows with a modulating acid bassline. On the flip Werner delivers ‘You Snooze You Looze’, a tech-infused cut adorned with rolling subs, clinical percussion and a head-snapping rhythm. Phased synthesis and dissonant sample work pushes the track into uncharted trippy territory, as processed vox stabs and crisp hi-hat patterns maintain momentum, leading to a deeply musical breakdown that offers a truly dynamic shift in mood. Closing the EP is ‘Whooos In Control’, a lesson in atmosphere and groove, which sees spaced-out synths interplay with automated stabs. Ethereal pads and warped fx float atop Werner’s swung drum programming creating that perfect roller for those early morning moments.
