Clear your throat. Understand. Sometimes. Only sometimes. There is this feeling that there are people out there, illuminated people with a plan. Where the music, the approach, the images, the design, the artwork, everything is flowing together and leading into a common transcendent theme. Meet CTF 2 by Bruno Gauthier. A (can we say this, Bruno?) veteran updating the epic gospel which was started by the mysterious one with a boom - the boom which broke the nothingness. The spark of inspiration has arrived in this universe. "Existing Reality" is a Teslaesque algorithm for the universal prescription of all antidotes. It is basic and complex. It offers a minimal lushness, a universe within a universe. Flip this galaxy. "Music Takes Control" is a maelstrom that sucks all gravity away into the anti matter zone. Its razor sharp vortex cutting away the peels of space and time, a radical march of nouveau deepness. Or is it steepness? CTF is on base 2, the next beachhead for world domination.

This is just such a two-sided fucker of a gut punch debut. CTF is like a UFO which landed in the middle of Disney land, annihilating all the phony shit around it with lasers switched on "kill". A totally unprecedented surprise of a vinyl date rape without a date or a warning. These two tracks are genre defining and genre defying. Forget House 2010, forget those nice postcards stuck in your mirror, forget the sounds they bore drug zombies with nowadays. This is the real future perpetual funk - out of nowhere. Just a big smelly chubby chunk of energy made right on your plate before your nose. "Tekkkno"? They should call a genre after this track! Actually a nice word to capture this serious Detroit roughness. "Sector 3"? What a nuclear propeller of an automotive tune! The questions remain: Who is the Mysterious Man From ? Where in hell is this 900 pound meat mountain from? What does CTF stand for?
