And now Noom Café come with an album that sounds like being made in the best times of the Chillout Era. Is there a Chillout revival coming upon us? For Noom Café this is not the question. They live for relaxed beats and low key soundscapes ever since. Their new Album ‘Beyond Time, released by the Frankfurt label ‘Elux’, is like a fresh breeze on a Balearic evening in summer. Within the first minutes of the albums opener ‘Baracoa’, the listener gets a very clear impression of the musical quality of Noom Café. Acoustic instruments and swinging beats, like in ‘Blue Sky’,melt into electronic pads and reverberant vocal samples. In this manner Noom Café are creating their very own world, far away from the hectic of everyday life. Anyhow, a day at the beach touches on more than just sunshine. ‘Beyond Time’ takes the listener away from the worn out paths of the genre and sends him on a journey to darker sound realms. Spirituality in modern dance music: An apparent contradiction that Buttha completely unwinds with his new album "Magic Island" on Elux Records. This is where Dubtechno meets Chillout Moods, analog Synthsounds combine with percussive instruments. It is World Music as the lowest common denominator that describes the style of the album most likely. While having travelled around the world to many distant countries, Buttha drew the inspiration he nowadays converts into music in his studio in Berlin mostly using purely analog equipment. The sound should be rough, not digitally polished. With "Magic Island" he travels to possible places of desire, fortune but also darker realms. The result is a complex album that works primarily through its timelessness away from the fast-paced party life. The love of nature is reflected in his tracks ever again. Titles such as "Eivissa" and "Atlantis" give a foretaste of the upcoming stories of the magical islands. Mythical cities with which everyone associates his own hopes and fears. Since 2008 Buttha has releases his musical output on his own label BackisBlack Recordings. With his album on Elux Records he now spans the full range of his work. Sven Schienhammer, the man behind this moniker, has a broad view on the sounds an techniques of Dub. Where in other productions coldness and monotony became a standard sound of Dubtechno, the psychedelic warmth of this longplayer let the listener dive constantly deeper into Quantec‘s ‚Vacuum’.
Within the full length of the album, the tracks keep up a certain kind of lightness while still remaining dancable all the time. Vocal cut-ups and fragments of house music like in ‚Truth Maintenance’ and ‚Eternal Soul’ are as well processed as deep basslines and meditative echospheres (for example ‚Unplumbed Depth’ or the title track ‚1000 Vacuum Tubes’).

It’s not the effects that stand in the foreground but a way of fathoming the different forms of expression of Dub in electronic music. ‚1000 Vacuum Tubes’ generates its special qualities from a deep understanding of a long history of Dub in Techno music. Quantec knows how to combine these elements to create a magnificient and timeless longplayer.
