The second part in his Modernista initiation and this release sees Tom McConnell confirm his production versatility, merging diverse influences and sounds into a singular identity. 77 is rhodes-led house meets jazz, driven by drum box disco beats interspersed with surreal strings. Hurled Towards Jupiter is a suitably atmospheric (cosmic?) track with swirling arpeggiated keys underpinned by a heavy bass line and off centre tribal percussion. Peacefoot follows its own path, morphing from a submerged disco loop into a slow polyrhythmic acidic burn and back again.
