A1. You Are A2. Alert B1. Zerone B2. Between
The latest drop from Retrometro is not for the faint-hearted, as Germany's Myk Derill brings the metal machine music.
You Are is a stomp and grind monster, with speaker-troubling kicks and torture chamber soundscapes. Zerone is a brutal, relentless Berlin warehouse workout, with deep reverbs, on-point percussion and a juicy roll on the low end.
Alert brings yet more of the factory floor pump, with its white noise build-ups and decayed percussion. And the caustic rhythms and haunting synths of Between bring another dynamic to the EP!
Bruising!

For its tenth release, Knotweed Records welcomes back Myk Derill. The Unison E.P. start with a pure techno banger, Facial Features: the heavy kick drum and synth pattern hit you where it hurts. Myk then goes in more minimal territory with Omage and See, both tracks making use of nice background repetitive voices, heavy basslines and dubby synths that remind you of late nights in Berlin. The E.P. ends up with with Synda, a peak time atmospheric dub experience that will not leave you indifferent. Supported and played by: DVS1, Brendon Moeller, Jeroen Search, Session Restore, Samuli Kemppi, Invite, Anaxander, Myles Sergé, Mary Velo, Arnaud Le Texier, Patrick Gil, Opuswerk, Kereni, Gonzalo MD...

“For our second release, I am very glad to welcome on board Myk Derill! Myk comes from Berlin, Germany. He already has several releases under his belt.
He creates a very dark techno, without any concessions, influenced by the current sounds of the techno underground I love. Myk Derill is a dj/ producer from Berlin , already well immersed in the german techno scene. As a big techno activist, he is the label owner of Glare records and regularly plays in several clubs and parties in Berlin. From the beginning , Myk Derill has developed a passion for the Detroit techno sound, particularly for the dub style of this sound. His inspiring influences are Mike Dehnert, Jeff Mills or even Ben klock. He started mixing in 1995 and nine years later began production. In 2006, he released his first EP "Meileinweit" on 2 sides records, which was a real success. Since then, he has worked with national and international artists as a remixer and producer and has also released many EP’s on several labels.”

upc: 5051083075633 release date: 14.10.2013 tracklist:A1. Nonsense A2. Decision B1. Nonsense (Myk Derill Remix) B2. Imprinted
It's been a while since we've heard a jam as bruising as Nonsense. Titles in techno often don't tell you much, and we'd go as far as to say this badboy is really more no-nonsense. This one will blow the stack, with cavernous kicks, down-the-line 909 claps and hats, and good old fashioned warehouse bells.
Decision is a jackin factory floor jam. Spitting percussion that's reverbed to the roof, combines with a one-note synth and pacy high-end work for a full-on strobe light track. Myk Derill goes DIY on his re-work of Nonsense, bringing more detailed rhythm work and creating a dynamic jam that ebbs and flows, constantly moving in and out of focus. Polishing off this belting release is Imprinted - an atmospheric sci-fi rhythm reminiscent of Convexion or even Monolake - a very nice little surprise on an otherwise heads-down release.
- - Limited to 300 copies.

A1. Minotaur A2. Freak Lip B1. Minotaur (ROD Remix) B2. Minotaur (Antigone Remix)
A friend of ours wrote a magazine article a couple of years ago saying that the one good thing about the credit crunch was that it would give the warehouse party scene a boost. For some reason that hasn't quite happened yet - but we refuse to give up hope. And to prove it, we have got a belter for you on Retrometro. Detect Audio are Arnaud Le Texier and Antonio De Angelis. Between them they've clocked up and impressive catalogue of releases on Cocoon, Bass Culture, 2020 Vision, Syncrophone, Gynoid, OFF, Leftroom and Children of Tomorrow. And they don't disappoint here. Minotaur brings heavy, upfront kicks and unrelenting perc drive together with a smooth and infectious Convexion-style synth line. Freak Lips is a cranked-up ghost-in-the-machine groove, and Leadings is a precision-engineered destroyer. In addition, ROD has filed a pacey rework of Minotaur, which comes through with a Hardgroove flavour and a no-prisoners bass drive. Meanwhile Antigone turns up the dub pressure in his remix, combining discombobulating pads and tooth-shattering bleep to massive effect. This one really has to be listened to through a massive wall of speakers in a building made of asbestos. But if you can't find one, a nightclub will just have to do… Either way, make sure you've got a penny on top of the needle, because it's heavy.
Vital Sales Points:
- Debut release for Arnaud Le Texier and Anotnio De Angelis on the label.
- The duo have releases on Children Of Tomorrow, Nowhere, Cocoon, Syncrophone & more.
- Remixes by techno heavyweitght producers ROD and Antigone.
- Limited to 300 copies.

This is RetroMetro's first vinyl outing and it's worth the wait. The four tracks of sweet soul music from Sailor Moon take you right back to that time when a bassline could bring a tear to your eye, and a one-note synth line could make your heart burst with joy.
Simple, raw and emotionally-charged, this EP is as much a love letter to R&S and great, almost forgotten European artists artists like Frank De Wulf, as it is to the Chicago legends like Phuture and Steve Poindexter.
That's some deep grooves.
Tracklisting:
A1: RM12.1
A2: RM12.2
B1: RM12.3
B2: RM12.4
