Quartz Rec is proud to release this new single from rising dutch talent Onno. Used is a very special tune that set mayhem on the dancefloor everytime we dropped it this summer. We decided to back it up with remix from one of our favourite techno artist of the moment Andre Kronert. To complete the package we bring in-house artist Okain and the first remix from the mysterious Quartz sublabel artist Alljacks. This is a great way to celebrate our 25th release.

ONNO, - Whatever Makes You Happy
Our little Dutch sun god Onno knows best how to make the kids shine, and as expected, he's put together a breakwater just in time for beach season: "Whatever Makes You Happy" glides on on the crest of the A1 groove with a heavy-duty surfboard. Its laconic vocal work and dynamic drum rolls are echoed in the remix by Nicola Jah at coordinates B2. This Italian producer dives into stiller waters, which of course run deep down into the vibrant ocean of sound. For the B1 Onno provides similarly strong dancing material, shooting pool on the sundeck of his boat and knocking "8ball" into the hole of victory. Finally, Magit Cacoon, our latest roster addition and the first woman on deck of the UY Vessel, cruises via the digital route for her debut, an utterly deep remix of "Whatever Makes You Happy" with bass that sets UY061's sails toward a blissful ending to the voyage.

ONNO, - And Yet Again
Onno is a highly dosed dancing pill, Pop one and your rubber legs turn into those of Fred Astaire. His last release already proved that he knows how to make you "put yo hands up in da air"! Now, here's his latest little treat "Hablando Loco EP" Upon You Number 048. The title track opens with some sweet vocals and then drills into your A1 memory banks with the Spanish Monolog from El Commandante. On B2 he's quite content with the few words : "I like that beat". But Onno likes the repetetive use of vocals like a fitness trainer trying to squeeze that last drop of sweat out of you. Gavin Herlihy, who some of you know from Cocoon, takes a subtler approach to the track with his remix that writhes in the scented oils that is House-deepness. Then, for those hard buggers out there that need another round on the treadmill there's a nice Digital-Exclusive-Track "And Yet Again" that will help you burn some of that fat and give you a tasty little muscle ache to remember it by.

Three times a week at different clubs, three times a week meeting new people with whom you can share a beer at the bar, and your passion for music behind the DJ booth. And so goes the daily life of International Deejays…Not so surprisingly, Ali and Basti met ONNO at last 2009's "Amsterdam Dance Event." From that first encounter, the connection went so well, it became obvious the communication between these three would continue, long after the final curtain would fall. Onno was busy releasing his first debut EP's for the respected German label: UPON YOU, while Ali and Basti were carefully hand-selecting tracks which would fit perfectly with their Souvenir Imprint. The result, are two must-play originals and two brilliant remixes by Daniel Sanchez and Santé - available next month. Please welcome one of the most promising Dutch artists on SOUVENIR027, ONNO. A one-way ticket to India awaits you with the A-side, "Bombay Palace." ONNO is storming the dance-floors with mystic vocals layered with club friendly drums and beats. A must have crowd pleaser for the early sunshine of the day! Daniel Sanchez (Remote Area, 100% Pure) flies the original direct to Chicago - encompassing spacey and vocoded vocal sounds. He genially injects soulful elements into "Bombay Palace" and turns it into a stellar skyscraper rooftop for "8 Minutes of Love..." - Deep Deep Deep! On the flipside, Onno delivers with "Chants" - dizzying on the forefront, all driven by cosmic waves and stomping drums - a singular piece of electronically modified funk. Santé happened to be Onno´s first remixer of choice for the track - a great choice, as he infuriates the original with what the tech-house genre offers best, turning it into a devastating peak-time take. Well done!

ONNO, - The Boy Who Drank Too Much
Onno already proved to us just what he was capable of brewing together in his Amsterdam sound kitchen on the last Home Sweet Home compilation with the track "Common Sense". And because it was so great there's a remix of "Common Sense" from David Labeij on this release. Groove magazine has compared him to Frankfurt's Funkyness, his magic cauldron is filled with a perfect concoction of rolling bass lines, sneaky vocal snippets simmering in a sauce of percussive beats. "The boy who drank too much" makes no exception, everything is exact and to the point and with one goal in mind,-to groove. "My Dad Lives In A Downtown Motel" shows us that he knows where to place an instrumental disco roll so that it ends up on every DJ's menu. For those that still haven't had their fill of Onno's digital delicacies, "Bagels are fresh" is sure to cure your appetite, at least for now!

Whilst most of us would associate the productions of Butch with his effortlessly flowing, melodic and uplifting style, perfect music for the summer floors and terraces.... of late, the Turkish born producer has been channeling back into his tougher and dare we say it, more butch techno sounds. Having bathed us in the gorgeous tones of previous hits such as "Papillon" and "Eyes Wide Open", Butch's latest work for Quartz Music sees him expanding further on his recent chemically inspired Cecille release "LSD 25," by serving up a large helping of acid on, "303." Sinister and deadly, the creeping corrosive cut is perfect soundtrack for those dark strobe lit moments. "Soul Leaves Body" sees on the polar opposite side of our trip as the blissed out beats of the Tabla and strains of the Sitar sweep us away an ethereal bed of sound
